• Atheros AR2413 wireless not working after shutdown

  I am using a Ubuntu 11.04 on an Acer aspire 3680 laptop and my wifi is not working. I followed the below commands to install the madwifi driver: sudo su apt-get install subversion cd /usr/src svn checkout http://madwifi-project.org/svn/madwifi/trunk madwifi tar cfvz madwifi.tgz cd madwifi make && make install echo "blacklist ath5k" /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf echo "ath_pci" /etc/modules modprobe ath_pci sudo reboot After installation I am facing the same problem. My wifi wont work after I shutdown. Infact it didn't work after suspend but I rectified that problem by the following commands: Command 1: sudo rmmod -f ath_pci sudo rfkill unblock all sudo modprobe ath_pci along with the command SUSPEND_MODULES=ath_pci added to the /etc/pm/config.d/madwifi directory. So if I suspend and then on my laptop the wifi loads well and doesn't create a problem. But if I shutdown my laptop the wifi never loads again and eachtime I have to run a Ubuntu 9.04 live CD to load it. I did try adding the Command 1 to the /etc/rc.local directory but still it doesn't work. So my question is: What should I do in order to make my wireless work without having to run a live CD of ubuntu 9.04 everytime after shutdown? Thanks. • HTML list wrapping problem

  I have a HTML list with this style: font-weight: bold; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; list-style-type: none; display: block; width:700px; font-size: 14px; white-space: pre-wrap; and the cells have this style: display: inline; and I have spacer cells between each cell with this style: padding-right: 20px; display: inline; My problem is that when the list is too long for its 700 pixels, it wraps. I want this, but I dont want the objects to be on two separate lines. I have tried the CSS white-space property, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

  I have a servlet. But it is not working as desired. Hence for debugging purposes, I want to print statements to the java console(the one that can be opened using the java icon in taskbar). However, if I use System.out.println("message"), it doesnt display in java console. Is there any alternative way where I can display messages to the console from the servlet? Or can anyone suggest me an alternative way to display messages to any other console?

• Displaying Photos on iPhone

  Hi all, I'm working on an iPhone app and I need to be able to display images to users. I have already gotten the code that takes the photo and stores it into the filesystem working well. Now I just need to figure out how to display the image. I've looked at the Three20 project I've read about on a few of the posts here, but it seems a bit cumbersome and like an extra dependency to import link and combine all of the Three20 library into my little app. Are there any other ways or a more streamlined library that will let me display photos to my users?   If you read through the first four parts of this series on data source security, you should be an expert on this focus area.  There is one more small topic to cover related to WebLogic Resource permissions.  After that comes the test, I mean example, to see with a real set of configuration parameters what the results are with some concrete values. WebLogic Resource Permissions All of the discussion so far has been about database credentials that are (eventually) used on the database side.  WLS has resource credentials to control what WLS users are allowed to access JDBC resources.  These can be defined on the Policies tab on the Security tab associated with the data source.  There are four permissions: “reserve” (get a new connection), “admin”, “shrink”, and reset (plus the all-inclusive “ALL”); we will focus on “reserve” here because we are talking about getting connections.  By default, JDBC resource permissions are completely open – anyone can do anything.  As soon as you add one policy for a permission, then all other users are restricted.  For example, if I add a policy so that “weblogic” can reserve a connection, then all other users will fail to reserve connections unless they are also explicitly added.  The validation is done for WLS user credentials only, not database user credentials.  Configuration of resources in general is described at “Create policies for resource instances” http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24329_01/apirefs.1211/e24401/taskhelp/security/CreatePoliciesForResourceInstances.html.  This feature can be very useful to restrict what code and users can get to your database. There are the three use cases: API Use database credentials User for permission checking getConnection() True or false Current WLS user getConnection(user,password) False User/password from API getConnection(user,password) True Current WLS user If a simple getConnection() is used or database credentials are enabled, the current user that is authenticated to the WLS system is checked. If database credentials are not enabled, then the user and password on the API are used. Example The following is an actual example of the interactions between identity-based-connection-pooling-enabled, oracle-proxy-session, and use-database-credentials. On the database side, the following objects are configured.- Database users scott; jdbcqa; jdbcqa3- Permission for proxy: alter user jdbcqa3 grant connect through jdbcqa;- Permission for proxy: alter user jdbcqa grant connect through jdbcqa; The following WebLogic Data Source objects are configured.- Users weblogic, wluser- Credential mapping “weblogic” to “scott”- Credential mapping "wluser" to "jdbcqa3"- Data source descriptor configured with user “jdbcqa”- All tests are run with Set Client ID set to true (more about that below).- All tests are run with oracle-proxy-session set to false (more about that below). If this was not an Oracle thin driver, the one case with the non-null Proxy in the above table would throw an exception because proxy session is only supported, implicitly or explicitly, with the Oracle thin driver. When oracle-proxy-session is set to true, the only cases that will pass (with a proxy of "jdbcqa") are the following.1. Setting use-database-credentials to true and doing getConnection(jdbcqa3,…) or getConnection().2. Setting use-database-credentials to false and doing getConnection(wluser, …) or getConnection(). Summary There are many options to choose from for data source security.  Considerations include the number and volatility of WLS and Database users, the granularity of data access, the depth of the security identity (property on the connection or a real user), performance, coordination of various components in the software stack, and driver capabilities.  Now that you have the big picture (remember that table in part 1), you can make a more informed choice.

• MySQL calling in Username to show instead of ID!

  I have a users table, books table and authors table. An author can have many books, while a user can also have many books. (This is how my DB is currently setup). As I'm pretty new to So far my setup is like bookview.php?book_id=23 from accessing authors page, then seeing all books for the author. The single book's details are all displayed on this new page...I can get the output to display the user ID associated with the book, but not the user name, and this also applies for the author's name, I can the author ID to display, but not the name, so somewhere in the query below I am not calling in the correct values: SELECT users.user_id, authors.author_id, books.book_id, books.bookname, books.bookprice, books.bookplot FROM books INNER JOIN authors on books.book_id = authors.book_id INNER JOIN users ON books.book_id = users.user_id WHERE books.book_id=" . $book_id; Could someone help me correct this so I can display the author name and user name both associated with the book!   Is there any constant value like if we display it in the datagridview it will not display and if we add it in the decimal value the value remains as it is ? Like what I am doing is, I am making addition of two columns say B,C for the column A like dataTable.Columns["A"].Expression="B+C"; Now problem is when there is any value of column B or C is null then there is no value in the column A because of A=B+C like 1+null is null. And even I can not replace 0 where there is null for the column B or C because I am displaying records of each column A,B and C in the datagridview and I don't want to display value for column which has value null so if I replace 0 where there is null then 0 will be displayed for that column which I don't want. So what should I do for that ? So what is the constant value which I should replace for null value for the column B and C so if value of A remains it is and even that value will not be displayed in the datagridview.

  So I purchased a computer recently and have been trying to customise the display. Radeon 6800 series Ubuntu 10.10 I have three 22inch 1080P lcd monitors that are mounted together. Everything is working smooth. How do I get the 'big-desktop' display where I have one enormous display across all monitors? Linux - ATI Catalyst Control Center 11.2 does not give me an option to 'group' my profiles like the pictures on their site show with Windows. I have been searching all over for help.   I want to create a nice pagination in Jquery for a number of divs I have. EG: <div class="container"> <div id="one">content</div> <div id="two">content</div> <div id="three">content</div> <div id="four">content</div> </div> The number will not always be the same so I need to count the divs, and display a pagination like the one below. 1|2|3|4 Clicking on the page number would display the relevant div. I know how to show and hide elements using Jquery and css and have figured out I can count the divs using var numPages = $('.container').size(); but I can't work out how I can display the pagination. Any pointers?

• Problem creating calculations 'engine' in two class java calculator

  i have hit a brick wall whilst attempting to create a two class java calculator but have been unsuccessful so far in getting it working. i have the code for an interface which works and displays ok but creating a seperate class 'CalcEngine' to do the actual calculations has proven to be beyond me. I'd appreciate it if someone could kick start things for me and create a class calcEngine which works with the interface class and allows input when from single button i.e. if one is pressed on the calc then 1 displays onscreen. please note i'm not asking someone to do the whole thing for me as i want to learn and i'm confident i can do the rest including addition subtraction etc. once i get over the obstacle of getting the two classes to communicate. any and all assistance would be very much appreciated.   I am writing a windows batch file to do the following things: Display a picture in the middle of the screen, showing the beautiful icon of my software. Kick of the launch of the web server. Finish displaying the picture. Point the browser to the start page. I have already know how to do it in step 2 and 4. However, I have the following questions in writing the windows batch file: 1. How do I know that the launch of the web server is finished, taking jetty as the example? 2. How do I display a picture and stop displaying it when I want to? • How do i style a JSON feed in my view?

  My rails app gets the following JSON feed from mixcloud and sticks the results into my index page At the moment when I do this, the entire contents of my feed are displayed unformatted in one big blob of scary looking text (without the curly JSON brackets) I only want to display specific values from the feed in the view. From the feed in question lets say for simplicity that I just wanted to display all values with a key of "url" In case I'm doing something wrong here's my code: # podcast controller def index # I'm using a class method to get the feed @feed = Podcast.feed end # podcast model def self.feed feed = JSON.parse(open("http://api.mixcloud.com/alivefrommaryhill/feed").read) end # index.html.haml .feed = @feed I can't figure out how to style the results and display only certain items from the feed.   This is a follow up to my previous question: link text In gridview's column i have a linkbutton and a label under it. I want to hide/unhide label when linkbutton is clicked. I use javascript because i don't want any postbacks. Is it possible to preserve linkbutton's position in the gridviews cell?

• Displaying User Relationships Module Blocks

  I'm unable to display any of the User Relationships' auto-created blocks in any of my sidebars. I have tried enabling all modules and permissions I can think of, with no success. The block I'm most interested in is the block that would allow users to be invited to an existing relationship (e.g. Friend), but as I say this nor any of the other blocks display. Other Drupal blocks and custom blocks display just fine. The blocks do show up in the blocks listing, and I've tried different ways of configuring them. Any help, or even confirmation that someone has been able to do this with the latest stable versions of Drupal and the User Relationships module, would be appreciated. Thank you.
