• Updating a Safari Extension?

    - by Ricky Romero
Hi there, I'm writing a simple Safari Extension, and I'm trying to figure out how to get the update mechanism working. Apple's documentation here is delightfully vague: http://developer.apple.com/safari/library/documentation/Tools/Conceptual/SafariExtensionGuide/UpdatingExtensions/UpdatingExtensions.html And here's my manifest, based on that documentation: <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Extension Updates</key> <array> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>net.rickyromero.safari.shutup</string> <key>Team Identifier</key> <string>TMM5P68287</string> <key>CFBundleVersion</key> <string>1</string> <key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key> <string>1.0</string> <key>URL</key> <string>http://rickyromero.net/misc/SafariExtensions/ShutUp.safariextz</string> </dict> </array> </dict> </plist> I don't know where to get "YourCertifcateID," for example. And when I increment the values for CFBundleVersion and CFBundleShortVersionString, it doesn't trigger an update. I know Safari is hitting my manifest though, because I'm watching HTTP traffic. Thoroughly stumped. Any ideas, guys?

  • How to Create Element in XSLT When Copying Using Templates

    - by John Dumont
Hello, I'm trying to create an element in an XML where the basic content is copied and modified. My XML is something like <root> <node> <child>value</child> <child2>value2</child2> </node> <node2>bla</node2> </root> The number of children of node may change as well as the children of root. The XSLT should copy the whole content, modify some values and add some new. The copying and modifying is no problem: <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="2.0"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8"/> <xsl:template match="@*|node()"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> (+ further templates for modifications). But how do I add a new element in this structure on some path, e.g. I want to add an element as the last element of the "node" node. The "node" element itself always exists.

  • php parsing xml result from ipb ssi tool

    - by Sir Troll
Last week my code was running fine and now (without changing anything) it is no longer able to parse the elements out of the XML. The response from the ssi tool: <ipbsource><topic id="32">
Test topic
<lastposter id="1">Drake</lastposter> <starter id="18">Drake</starter> <forum id="3">Updates</forum> <date timestamp="1345600720">22 August 2012 - 03:58 AM</date> </topic> </ipbsource> enter code here Update: Switched to SimpleXML but I can't extract data from the xml: $xml = file_get_contents('http://site.com/forum/ssi.php?a=out&f=2&show=10&type=xml'); $xml = new SimpleXMLElement($xml); $item_array = array(); var_dump($xml); foreach($xml->topic as $el) { var_dump($el); echo 'Title: ' . $el->title; } The var_dump output: object(SimpleXMLElement)#1 (1) { [0]=> string(1) " " }

  • Use web.sitemap to control page access

    - by Jakob Gade
    I was setting up permissions for pages in a ASP.NET website with <location> tags in web.config, something similar to this: <location path="Users.aspx"> <system.web> <authorization> <allow roles="Administrator"/> <deny users="*"/> </authorization> </system.web> </location> However, I also have a web.sitemap which basically contains the same information, i.e. which user roles can see/access which pages. A snippet from my web.sitemap: <siteMap xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AspNet/SiteMap-File-1.0" > <siteMapNode title="Home"> ... lots of nodes here ... <siteMapNode url="users.aspx" roles="Administrator" title="users" description="Edit users" /> ... </siteMapNode> </siteMap> Is there some kind of nifty way of using web.sitemap only to configure access? The <location> tags are quite verbose, and I don't like having to duplicate this information.

  • DDMS plugin not loading GPX files

    - by Craig
I am unable to load a GPX file in the DDMS eclipse plugin. When specifying a GPX file, no points are added to the emulator control list. I have tried adding KML files as well, generated in Google earth. Is there a way to get these files to work? The content of the file is listed below: <gpx version="1.0" creator="RunKeeper - http://www.runkeeper.com" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd"> <trk>
2009-11-30T15:37:08Z <trkseg> <trkpt lat="41.811406000" lon="-72.521427000"> <ele>37.000000</ele> 2009-11-30T15:37:08Z </trkpt> <trkpt lat="41.811030000" lon="-72.522882000"> <ele>38.000000</ele> 2009-11-30T15:37:10Z </trkpt>

  • Delphi 2009 dbExpress and Interbase: Unicode migration steps and risks?

    - by mjustin
Currently, our database uses Win1252 as the only character encoding. We will have to support Unicode in the database tables soon, which means we have to perform this migration for four databases and around 80 Delphi applications which run in-house in a 24/7 environment. Are there recommendations for database migrations to UTF-8 (or UNICODE_FSS) for Delphi applications? Some questions listed below. Many thanks in advance for your answers! are there tools which help with the migration of the existing databases (sizes between 250 MB and 2 GB, no Blob fields), by dumping the data, recreating the database with UNICODE_FSS or UTF-8, and loading the data back? are there known problems with Delphi 2009, dbExpress and Interbase 7.5 related to Unicode character sets? would you recommend to upgrade the databases to Interbase 2009 first? (This upgrade is planned but does not have a high priority) can we simply migrate the database and Delphi will handle the Unicode character sets automatically, or will we have to change all character field types in every Datamodule (dfm and source code) too? which strategy would you recommend to work on the migration in parallel with the normal development and maintenance of the existing application? The application runs in-house so development and database administration is done internally. Update: one problem I found now is that there are two different persistent field types for Unicode and non Unicode character fields. For the existing database, dbExpress creates TStringField objects. For the Unicode database fields, dbExpress creates (or expects!) TWideStringField objects. This looks like a lot of work lies ahead. While we could try to avoid persistent fields (and add calculated fields at run time), Of course we would prefer a solution which does not require so many changes in existing units and DFM files.

  • Bad crypto error in .NET 4.0

    - by Andrey
Today I moved my web application to .net 4.0 and Forms Auth just stopped working. After several hours of digging into my SqlMembershipProvider (simplified version of built-in SqlMembershipProvider), I found that HMACSHA256 hash is not consistent. This is the encryption method: internal string EncodePassword(string pass, int passwordFormat, string salt) { if (passwordFormat == 0) // MembershipPasswordFormat.Clear return pass; byte[] bIn = Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes(pass); byte[] bSalt = Convert.FromBase64String(salt); byte[] bAll = new byte[bSalt.Length + bIn.Length]; byte[] bRet = null; Buffer.BlockCopy(bSalt, 0, bAll, 0, bSalt.Length); Buffer.BlockCopy(bIn, 0, bAll, bSalt.Length, bIn.Length); if (passwordFormat == 1) { // MembershipPasswordFormat.Hashed HashAlgorithm s = HashAlgorithm.Create( Membership.HashAlgorithmType ); bRet = s.ComputeHash(bAll); } else { bRet = EncryptPassword( bAll ); } return Convert.ToBase64String(bRet); } Passing the same password and salt twice returns different results!!! It was working perfectly in .NET 3.5 Anyone aware of any breaking changes, or is it a known bug? UPDATE: When I specify SHA512 as hashing algorithm, everything works fine, so I do believe it's a bug in .NET 4.0 crypto Thanks! Andrey

  • Mimic.js handle fault response

    - by nikolas
i use mimic.js regarding a project that i m developing.. the issue that i face, is if there is a fault response from the webservice, mimic, doesn't handle it, and the browser remains "awaiting" for a response, that has actually been back, but hasn't been handled by mimic.. to be more specific, one typical fault response is the following.. <methodResponse> <fault> <value> <struct> <member>
<value><int>104</int></value> </member> <member>
<value><string>Invalid Input Parameters</string></value> </member> </struct></value></fault></methodResponse> and chrome console get me the error mimic.js:11 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'childNodes' of null any suggestions on how to handle "fault" responses? mimic.js hasn't been altered at all.. also tried to bypass the fact that mimic can't handle the fault, by trying to use the isFault flag, in the if statement, with no success either.. isFault is supposed to get a boolean value, i guess true/false?

Get All Countries 2. Get All States in a Country 3. Get All Cities inside a state of a paricular country ? I gave it a try and I am kind of confused when to use Elements["NodeName"] and Descendants etc. I know I am not the brightest XML guy around. Is the format of the XML file even correct for simple traversal?

  • Firefox: Can I use a relative path in the BASE tag?

    - by Aaron Digulla
I have a little web project where I have many pages and an index/ToC file. The toc file is at the root of my project in toc.html. The pages are spread over a couple of subdirectories and include the toc with an iframe. The project doesn't need a web server, so I can create the HTML in a directory and browse it in my browser. The problem is that I'm running into XSS issues when JavaScript from the toc.html wants to call a function in a page (violation of the same origin policy). So I added base tags in the header with a relative URL to the directory in which toc.html. This works for Konqueror but in Firefox, I have to use absolute paths or the toc won't even display :( Here is an example:

Project 1

This is file is in a subdirectory page. Firefox won't even load it, saying that it can't find page/toc.html. Is there a workaround? I would really like to avoid absolute paths in my export to keep it the same everywhere (locally and when I upload it on the web server later).

  • Android how to make button text bold when pressed or focussed

  • PostgreSQL: BYTEA vs OID+Large Object?

    - by mlaverd
I started an application with Hibernate 3.2 and PostgreSQL 8.4. I have some byte[] fields that were mapped as @Basic (= PG bytea) and others that got mapped as @Lob (=PG Large Object). Why the inconsistency? Because I was a Hibernate noob. Now, those fields are max 4 Kb (but average is 2-3 kb). The PostgreSQL documentation mentioned that the LOs are good when the fields are big, but I didn't see what 'big' meant. I have upgraded to PostgreSQL 9.0 with Hibernate 3.6 and I was stuck to change the annotation to @Type(type="org.hibernate.type.PrimitiveByteArrayBlobType"). This bug has brought forward a potential compatibility issue, and I eventually found out that Large Objects are a pain to deal with, compared to a normal field. So I am thinking of changing all of it to bytea. But I am concerned that bytea fields are encoded in Hex, so there is some overhead in encoding and decoding, and this would hurt the performance. Are there good benchmarks about the performance of both of these? Anybody has made the switch and saw a difference?

  • Ruby on Rails: how to get error messages from a child resource displayed?

    - by randombits
I'm having a difficult time understanding how to get Rails to show explicitly the error messages that a child resource is failing on when I render an XML template. Hypothetically, I have the following classes: class School < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :students validates_associated :students end class Student < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :school validates_format_of :email, :with => /^([^@\s]+)@((?:[-a-z0-9]+\.)+[a-z]{2,})$/i, :message => "You must supply a valid email" end Now, in the controller, let's say we want to build a trivial API to allow us to add a new School with a student in it (again, I said, it's a terrible example, but plays its role for the purpose of the question) class SchoolsController < ApplicationController def create @school = School.new @student = school.students.build @student.email = "bad@email" respond_to do |format| if @school.save # some code else format.xml { render :xml => @school.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end end Now the validation is working just fine, things die because the email doesn't match the regex that's set in the validates_format_of method in the Student class. However the output I get is the following: <errors> <error>Students is invalid</error> </errors> I want the more meaningful error message that I set above with validates_format_of to show up. Meaning, I want it to say: <error>You must supply a valid email</error> What am I doing wrong for that not to show up?

  • How do I fix my "Stream closed" error in spring-ws?

    - by mcherm
I have working code using the spring-ws library to respond to soap requests. I moved this code to a different project (I'm merging projects) and now it is failing. I would like to figure out the reason for the failure. The symptom I get is this: when the HTTP request arrives, spring begins handling the call. Then I get the following exception: org.springframework.ws.soap.saaj.SaajSoapEnvelopeException: Could not access envelope: java.io.IOException: Stream closed; nested exception is javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.io.IOException: Stream closed at org.springframework.ws.soap.saaj.SaajSoapMessage.getEnvelope(SaajSoapMessage.java:109) <<more lines that don't matter>> Caused by: java.io.IOException: Stream closed at java.io.PushbackInputStream.ensureOpen(PushbackInputStream.java:57) at java.io.PushbackInputStream.read(PushbackInputStream.java:116) at org.apache.xerces.impl.XMLEntityManager$RewindableInputStream.read(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.impl.XMLEntityManager.setupCurrentEntity(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.impl.XMLVersionDetector.determineDocVersion(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.parsers.XML11Configuration.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.parsers.XML11Configuration.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.parsers.XMLParser.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.parsers.AbstractSAXParser.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserImpl$JAXPSAXParser.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserImpl.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.axis.encoding.DeserializationContext.parse(DeserializationContext.java:227) at org.apache.axis.SOAPPart.getAsSOAPEnvelope(SOAPPart.java:696) ... 30 more Examining it in a debugger, it appears that spring successfully handles HTTP headers, but then when it begins to process the contents of the SOAP message itself, it chokes when reading the very first character of the body. Some googling for the error message suggests that the problem is that a PushbackInputStream which is apparently used for reading from the socket is read twice or perhaps has close() called and then is read afterward. It is happening inside of spring-ws, not my code, and since it worked fine before I moved the code to a new project it must have something to do with versions of spring, or something it uses like axis or xerces. But I can't find any differences in versions of these! Has anyone encountered this error before? Or do you have any suggestions of approaches I could take in troubleshooting this?

  • RSS feed created with PHP only shows the title in the feed reader

    - by James Simpson
I am using the following PHP code to generate the XML for an RSS feed, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. No short description is displayed in the feed reader, all I see is the title of the article. Also, all of the articles say they were published at the same time. This is the first time I have tried to setup an RSS feed, so I'm sure I've made several stupid mistakes. $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM blog ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 10"); $date = date(DATE_RFC822); header('Content-type: text/xml'); echo ("\n"); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
my website name
\n"); echo ("
the description
\n"); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
\n"); $ch=100; while ($a = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $headline = htmlentities(stripslashes($a['subject'])); $posturl = $a[perm_link]; $content = $a['post']; $date = date(DATE_RFC822, $a['posted']); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
$headline
\n"); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
$content
\n"); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
\n"); echo ("
\n"); } echo ("
\n"); echo ("
\n");

  • receive values with XML, AS3

    - by VideoDnd
My example imports XML and has an object rotating on stage. The rotating object is called enemy corresponds to ENEMY in the XML. How do I set the rotation variable to receive values from XML? REASON It seems more difficult to set up variables using external data. I want to understand it better. rotation.fla //LOAD XML var myXML:XML; var myLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); myLoader.load(new URLRequest("enemy.xml")); myLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, processXML); //PARSE XML function processXML(e:Event):void { myXML = new XML(e.target.data); trace(myXML.ROGUE.*); trace(myXML); //TEXT var text:TextField = new TextField(); text.text = myXML.ENEMY.*; addChild(text); } //ROTATION function enterFrameHandler(event:Event):void { //==>CODE I WANT TO CHANGE<== enemy.rotationY += 10; } addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, enterFrameHandler); enemy.xml ENEMY is set to -100, use what you like <BADGUYS> <ENEMY TITLE="sticky">-100</ENEMY> <ROGUE TITLE="slimy">-1000</ROGUE> </BADGUYS>

  • Android: Change the source of ImageView present in ListView

    - by Vivek
    Hi All, I have a ListView specified by list_item.xml Now I need to change the Image in my list inside onListItemClick. How to achieve this? //list_item.xml  <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <ImageView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:src="@drawable/play" android:id="@+id/img" /> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:id="@+id/txt" /> </LinearLayout> I have a Custom Adapter to populate my list. Code below is the adapter. public class MyCustomAdapter extends ArrayAdapter<String> { public MyCustomAdapter(Context context, int textViewResourceId, String[] objects) { super(context, textViewResourceId, objects); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub } @Override public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub LayoutInflater inflater=getLayoutInflater(); View row=inflater.inflate(R.layout.list_item, parent, false); TextView label=(TextView)row.findViewById(R.id.txt); label.setText(Sounds[position]); ImageView icon=(ImageView)row.findViewById(R.id.img); icon.setMaxHeight(32); icon.setMaxWidth(32); icon.setPadding(2, 1, 5, 1); icon.setImageResource(R.drawable.play); return row; } } And in onCreate I do the following @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); try { setListAdapter(new MyCustomAdapter(this, R.layout.list_item, Sounds)); //Sounds --> String array } catch(Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } Now when any row is selected, I need to change the image associated with the selected view. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • RelativeLayout differences between 1.5 and 2.1

    - by Kilnr
I've got a ListView with items composed of RelativeLayouts. This is the relevant XML from the list items: <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <TextView android:id="@+id/xx" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:layout_centerInParent="true" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/title" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/xx" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/tag" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/xx" android:layout_below="@id/title" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/subtitle" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/tag" android:layout_below="@id/title" /> </RelativeLayout> On Android 2.1 (tested on a Nexus One), this shows the desired behavior: On Android 1.5 however (tested on a HTC Hero), it shows up like this: [edit] On 1.6 (emulator), it works as expected as well. The small grey line on the top left is what shows up in the first pic as "xx", so that should be vertically centered. As far as I can see, the XML dictates this, but for some reason, 1.5 ignores it. Why is this? I can't find anything about this difference, and I've been brute forcing any combination of layout_center, center, alignParent*, but to no avail... Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!
