• LINQ to XML : A query body must end with a select clause or a group clause

  Can someone guide me on to repairing the error on this query : var objApps = from item in xDoc.Descendants("VHost") where(from x in item.Descendants("Application")) select new clsApplication { ConnectionsTotal = item.Element("ConnectionsTotal").Value }; It displays a compiler error "A query body must end with a select clause or a group clause". Where am I going wrong? Would appreciate any help.. Thanks. What amI missing - How is this possible in light of the fact that the response string is definitely formed as I would expect it to be?

My reasoning is that by doing so you avoid tying your POJOs to a particular framework. Based on your experience with Spring, are there any advantages that XML configuration have over an annotation based configuration, and if not what are the disadvantages?

• Replace JBoss error page with Axis2 fault XML response

  I'm developing a webservice with Axis2 1.4.1 on JBoss 4.2.3/Tomcat 5.5.27 and Java 1.5.0 (15-b04). It works flawlessly but when an exception happens I get a JBoss error 500 HTML page instead of an Axis2 XML/SOAP fault. This behavoir is vexing, because it difficults to handle errors in the webservice client or in SoapUI while developing. Can I change this to get the SOAP fault? Maybe it's just an Axis2 or JBoss parameter, but I didn't find any clue about. I have a dynamic targetvalue (lets just go with 2 000 000 in this example) I want to get the value where max_value is greater than the targetvalue, but sometimes max_value is not defined and then set to "0". "0" in max_value should mean unlimited "roof". The min_value can not be greater than targetvalue, but sometimes min_value is not defined and then set to "0". "0" min_value should mean a unlimited "floor". In that topic i feel confident, i understand what are the schemas used for and what validation means. Now my next step is learning about JAX-B(Java Api for XML Binding). I rode some about it and i did also some practice in my IDE. But i have lots of basic doubts, that make me stuck and cannot feel confident to continue to the next topic. Ill appreciate a lot if someone could explain me well my doubts: What does it mean mapping and what is a mapping tool? What does it mean binding and what is a binding tool? What does it mean parsing and what is a parsing tool? How is JAX-B related to mapping,binding and parsing? • How can I convert German characters during XML read and PHP write into mysql?

  Morning, I am inputting data from an XML file into my database, but have any isse with German words (that are in the XML by mistake) For example the word für appears in my XML as für and thus appears the same in my database. I know I could do a simple search/replace for that exact phrase, but I was wondering if there was a smarter way to do it as I can't predict if any other German words may one day appear in the XML?   Hi there, So i have a UserControl for one of my Views and have another 'child' UserControl inside that. The outer 'parent' UserControl has a Collection on its View-Model and a Grid control on it to display a list of Items. I want to place another UserControl inside this UserControl to display a form representing the details of one Item. The outer / parent UserControl's View-Model already has a property on it to hold the currently selected Item and i would like to bind this to a DependancyProperty on the inner / child UserControl. I would then like to bind that DependancyProperty to a property on the child UserControl's View-Model. I can then set the DependancyProperty once in XAML with a binding expression and have the child UserControl do all its work in its View-Model like it should. The code i have looks like this..   I am on Ubuntu 11.10/64bit with Gnome 3. Regards [update] I trying to say that when I start an application like Nautilus LibreOffice starts as well. Sometimes this also happens when I open a document with a totally different extension i.e. a .html doc.
