  • IoC.Resolve vs Constructor Injection

    - by Omu
I heard a lot of people saying that it is a bad practice to use IoC.Resolve(), but I never heard a good reason why (if it's all about testing than you can just mock the container, and you're done). now the advantages of using Resolve instead of Constructor Injection is that you don't need to create classes that have 5 parameters in the constructor, and whenever you are going to create a instance of that class you're not gonna need to provide it with anything

  • .NET 4.0 on Windows Azure?

    - by Iain Galloway
My google-fu is failing me on this one. As a possible solution to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1679404/unit-testing-net-3-5-projects-using-mstest-in-vs2010 (but I've put this in a seperate question because it's kind of unrelated): Is there any information available regarding if/when .NET 4.0 support will be added to Windows Azure? Cheers!

  • Data files from development machine to iOS device

    - by StoneBreaker
My app has created a bunch of data files as development has progressed through the simulator. Their location is obtained by this function: NSString *pathInDocumentDirectory(NSString *fileName) { NSArray *documentDirectories = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentDirectory = [documentDirectories objectAtIndex: 0]; return [documentDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent: fileName]; } The files are now required on the device as testing of the app is moving from the simulator to actual devices. How do I transfer the data files from my current working environment to the devices?

  • Passing a hostname of over 255 characters to getaddrinfo causes a getaddrinfo failed: memory allocat

    - by darrickc
I am currently upgrading our software to support ipv6 and in the meantime I'm expanding hostname/ip fields to the max hostname size. In sun documentation it seems like this can be up to 1025 (netdb.h:#define NI_MAXHOST 1025 - this is the recommended hostname allocation define), but when I pass a hostname of over 255 to getaddrinfo I get "getaddrinfo failed: memory allocation failure". I am testing on a Sol10 box. Ideas?

  • Problem when reading backslash in Prolog

    - by Jerry
I'm writing a lexer in Prolog which will be used as a part of functional language interpreter. Language spec allows expressions like for example let \x = x + 2; to occur. What I want lexer to do for such input is to "return": [tokLet, tokLambda, tokVar(x), tokEq, tokVar(x), tokPlus, tokNumber(2), tokSColon] and the problem is, that Prolog seems to ignore the \ character and "returns" the line written above except for tokLambda. One approach to solve this would be to somehow add second backslash before/after every occurrence of one in the program code (because everything works fine if I change the original input to let \\x = x + 2;) but I don't really like it. Any ideas?

  • cocos2d 2.x scene retainCount

    - by Shefy Gur-ary
I'm pushing a scene to the game I'm working on, after pressing a button in the main menu. This scene is a gameplayScene which should have two layers ad childs: boardLayer and hudLayer. for now I'm testing with the boardLayer, I'm using block to call the gameplayScene to close both itself and the boardLayer, but by the time I get there the retain count of both layer is 3 (seems to be increasing after setting the block to 2, and I'm not sure when it is going up to 3) What cause this, and how should it be handled?

  • GUI HTTP client

    - by JW
Does anyone know of a good GUI HTTP testing client that runs on OS X? Something that will allow me to enter a request (URL, headers, body, etc.), and view the response, preferably in different formats (hex, text, etc.). I found one called HTTP Client, but it's kind of buggy. Google is failing me.

  • glibc regexp performance

Anyone has experience measuring glibc regexp functions? Are there any generic tests I need to run to make such a measurements (in addition to testing the exact patterns I intend to search)? Thanks.

  • post object to wcf rest service

    - by gleasonomicon
I'm using the WCF Rest service application project template in visual studio. I'm just learning about REST, and I was wondering how I would post a SampleItem object to the following method: [WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "", Method = "POST")] public SampleItem Create(SampleItem instance) { // TODO: Add the new instance of SampleItem to the collection throw new NotImplementedException(); } I get the general concepts of gets for the purposes of grabbing data, but I'm not sure how I would post the object in code (or just through a browser for testing) to the service.

  • opensourcing a website code

    - by pygabriel
Hi! I'm writing a little website (webapp) in php+codeigniter, I'd really like to make it open source (to attract collaborators and to have a free VCS hosting). Is that a good practice? This mine security? Which are the best tools to change important data before uploading? (like config files with db names and passwords used for testing etc..)

  • Why is this std::bind not converted to std::function?

    - by dauphic
    Why is the nested std::bind in the below code not implicitly converted to an std::function<void()> by any of the major compilers (VS2010/2012, gcc, clang)? Is this standard behavior, or a bug? #include <functional> void bar(int, std::function<void()>) { } void foo() { } int main() { std::function<void(int, std::function<void()>)> func; func = std::bind(bar, 5, std::bind(foo)); std::cin.get(); return 0; }

  • how to get post content with groovy listening on a port?

    - by Amir Raminfar
I wrote the following simple groovy code that handles a request. if (init) data = "" if (line.size() > 0) { data += "--> " + line + "\n" } else { println "HTTP/1.1 200 OK\n" println data println "----\n" return "success" } I then run it by doing groovy -l 8888 ServerTest.groovy However, it doesn't seem to print any POST data. I am testing it by doing curl -d "d=test" http://localhost:8888/ Does anybody know how to get that data in groovy?

  • whats the best way to parse and replace the string with its values ?

    - by shahjapan
I may have string like, """Hello, %(name)s, how are you today, here is amount needed: %(partner_id.account_id.debit_amount)d """ what would be the best solution for such template may i need to combine regular expression and eval, input string may differ like $partner_id.account_id.debit_amount$ - for the moment I've kept as python string format - just for testing.

  • Article about code density as a measure of programming language power

    - by prosseek
I remember reading an article saying something like "The number of bugs introduced doesn't vary much with different programming languages, but it depends pretty much on SLOC (source lines of code). So, using the programming language that can implement the same functions with smaller SLOC is preferable in terms of stability." The author wanted to stress the advantages of using Functional Programming, as normally one can program with a smaller number of LOC. I remember the author cited a research paper about the irrelevance of choice of programming language and the number of bugs. Is there anyone who knows the research paper or the article?

  • Forming Xpath Query for total Google results

    - by user619879
I've used this formula in Google Spreadsheets in the past to input the number of search results into a cell. The formula's not working anymore and I know I need to fix the xpath query. any ideas? Current formula: =importXML("http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q="&A2,"//p[@id='resultStats']/b[3]") Spreadsheet for public testing: https://spreadsheets8.google.com/ccc?key=tJzmFllp7Sk1lt23cXSVXFw&authkey=CM625OUO#gid=0
