  • Wordpress > Exclude specific categories from categories listing

    - by Scott B
I have created some functional categories that I use to show/hide markup elements. However, when I go to list the legit categories, these show up too, which I would expect. I want to list the legitimate categories and omit others. I need to know how you would do it under two circumstances.... 1) Each category that I want to exclude is preceded by an underscore character in its name. 2) Each category that I want to exclude is NOT preceeded by a special character and I will just provide an ID to the script that handles the exclusion listing.

  • How do I set a static bool in another app domain?

    - by Martin
How do I programatically set the value of a static boolean in another app domain? I'm testing an application where I need to change a bool value. Problem is that the bool value exists as a static instance on a type hosted in another app domain. (I'm doing this for test purposes, it won't be used in production code)

  • What is considered bleeding edge in programming these days?

    - by iestyn
What is "bleeding edge" these days? has it all been done before us, and we are just discovering new ways of implementing mathematical constructs within programming? Functional Programming seems to be making inroads in all areas, but is this just marketing to create interest in a programming arena where it appears that the state of the art has climaxed too soon. have the sales men got hold of the script, and selling ideas that can be sold, dumbing down the future? I see very old ideas making their way into the market place....what are the truly new things that should be considered fresh and new in 2010 onwards, and not some 1960-1980 idea being refocused.

  • Double reversals on technology decisions

    - by Kev
Have you ever gone through a painful switch from one technology to another, only to switch back later in a project's lifetime? Was it because the technologies evolved differently than you expected, or because of something you didn't understand about them in the first place, or because they didn't fly when it came to beta testing or production? Did you regret the switch back too?

  • Zend Framework in a subfolder, but images taken from site root

    - by Pentium10
I have a dev project setup in a subfolder on my testing machine and it must stay there. However all the Zend frameworks views are linked to server root. CSS are linked like: <link type="text/css" href="<?php echo $this->baseUrl('/css/frontend.css') ?>" rel="Stylesheet" /> Which must be stayed this way, but it should link to localhost/a/b/c/prj1/css/frontend.css How can I setup a global subdirectory for this?

  • Preview for create/edit content doesn't work

    - by Snazzy
Hi! I'm configuring a DRUPAL site web (that it was previously created) and I'm testing the diferent options. When I create a new content or edit a old content and change anything and then I click on 'Preview' doesn't appear the recent changes (just appear the old values), I have to save it before. NOTE: I do the accions as ROOT (it not a privilege problem). Anyone knows what is happened?

  • iPhone SDK: How to determine keyboard type within a UIKeyboardDidShowNotification?

    - by iPhone Developer
Hello, I need to know the current keyboard type. I was setting an instance variable in - (BOOL)textFieldShouldBeginEditing:(UITextField *)textField However, testing has shown that this is not always reliable because of the asynchronous nature of notifications. What I am wondering is if anyone can tell me how to determine the current keyboard type within a notification? - (void)keyboardDidShow:(NSNotification *) { // Need way to determine keyboard type here } Thanks.

  • Linking win32 dll in Qt

    - by kambamsu
Hi, I want to reference a win32 dll from my Qt application. I've added the dll location in the .pro file at "LIBS+=" . Once that is done, by right, i should be able to include the .h file inside the dll from my application. But i'm unable to do so. I'm testing with the dll here: http://www.flipcode.com/archives/Creating_And_Using_DLLs.shtml Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

  • grails mockFor closure wierdness

    - by hvgotcodes
Right, so when I set up my mock using the testing plugin's mockFor method, I expect a method that returns null. If I do myControl.demand.theMethod {return null} in the debugger, the value that I set the 'theMethod' call result to is some closure in the debugger. If I do myControl.demand.theMethod {->return null} the value is null, as expected. I dont understand the difference....

  • Rails - How do you dynamically call the request methods "get put destroy etc" at runtime in tests

    - by adam
I'm always writing tests to check my controller restricts people from certain actions depending on their status i.e. logged in, admin? etc Regardless of whether its a get to :index or a puts to :create the code is always the same. I'm trying to refactor this so that i have one method such as should_redirect_unauthenticated_to_login_action(request, action) and call it like so should_redirect_unauthenticated_to_login_action(:get, :index) = get :index But not sure how to dynamically call the various response methods rails provides for functional tests which seem to live in the module ActionController I mucked around with module = Kernel.const_get("ActionController") module::TestProcess.get NoMethodError: undefined method `get' for ActionController::TestProcess:Module can anyone help (im very new to dynamic calling in ruby)

  • Strange phantom header margin bug html/css

    - by MickyJimbo
So I'm creating this website and there is a strange untraceable bug that causes the header to move down 10 or so pixels. On a refresh the header could be correct or it could be broken. I've been testing it on Adobe Browserlab and the results are different every time. There is no discernible pattern making it incredible hard to track down. http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/c866bf594d.jpg Has anyone ever had this problem and been able to fix it?

  • In C# ,how do I terminate a thread that has had its call stack corrupted?

    - by Emil D
I have a thread in my application that is running code that can potentially cause call stack corruption ( my application is a testing tool for dlls ). Assuming that I have a method of detecting if the child thread is misbehaving, how would I terminate it? From what I read, calling Thread.Abort() on the misbehaving thread would be equivalent to raising an exception inside it.I fear that that not be a good idea, provided the call stack of the thread might be corrupted.Any suggestions?

  • OpenGL Mapping Textures to a Grid Stored Inside Vertex Array

    - by Matthew Hoggan
I am writing a test to verify something. This is not production code, just verification code. So I would appreciate it if the specific question was answered. I have code that uses indices and vertices to draw a set of triangles in the shape of a grid. All the vertices are drawn using glDrawElements(). Now for each vertex I will set its corresponding Texture Coordinates to 0 or 1 for each set of triangles that form a square in the grid. Basically I want to draw a collage of random textures in each one of the "squares" (consisting of two triangles). I can do this using the glBegin() and glEnd() method calls inside a for loop using the fixed functional pipeline, but I would like to know how to do this using Vertex Arrays.

  • FDT 3 Enterprise, can't add breakpoints.

    - by pixelbreaker
I've been using FDT for a long long time, on my new machine, with the Enterprise edition, I cannot add breakpoints on the editors gutter, and the debugger doesn't show any variables when testing with the external player. Any ideas on how to fix, is it some obscure Eclipse setting, or and FDT setting?

  • Java: Cannot find a method's symbol even though that method is declared later in the class. The remaining code is looking for a class.

    - by Midimistro
This is an assignment that we use strings in Java to analyze a phone number. The error I am having is anything below tester=invalidCharacters(c); does not compile because every line past tester=invalidCharacters(c); is looking for a symbol or the class. In get invalidResults, all I am trying to do is evaluate a given string for non-alphabetical characters such as *,(,^,&,%,@,#,), and so on. What to answer: Why is it producing an error, what will work, and is there an easier method WITHOUT using regex. Here is the link to the assignment: http://cis.csuohio.edu/~hwang/teaching/cis260/assignments/assignment9.html public class PhoneNumber { private int areacode; private int number; private int ext; /////Constructors///// //Third Constructor (given one string arg) "xxx-xxxxxxx" where first three are numbers and the remaining (7) are numbers or letters public PhoneNumber(String newNumber){ //Note: Set default ext to 0 ext=0; ////Declare Temporary Storage and other variables//// //for the first three numbers String areaCodeString; //for the remaining seven characters String newNumberString; //For use in testing the second half of the string boolean containsLetters; boolean containsInvalid; /////Separate the two parts of string///// //Get the area code part of the string areaCodeString=newNumber.substring(0,2); //Convert the string and set it to the area code areacode=Integer.parseInt(areaCodeString); //Skip the "-" and Get the remaining part of the string newNumberString=newNumber.substring(4); //Create an array of characters from newNumberString to reuse in later methods for int length=newNumberString.length(); char [] myCharacters= new char [length]; int i; for (i=0;i<length;i++){ myCharacters [i]=newNumberString.charAt(i); } //Test if newNumberString contains letters & converting them into numbers String reNewNumber=""; //Test for invalid characters containsInvalid=getInvalidResults(newNumberString, length); if (containsInvalid==false){ containsLetters=getCharResults(newNumberString, length); if (containsLetters==true){ for (i=0;i<length;i++){ myCharacters [i]=(char)convertLetNum((myCharacters [i])); reNewNumber=reNewNumber+myCharacters[i]; } } } if (containsInvalid==false){ number=Integer.parseInt(reNewNumber); } else{ System.out.println("Error!"+"\t"+newNumber+" contains illegal characters. • In which document do file specifications belong?

    - by Andrew
In which document would a file specification belong? Perhaps this file is used as an input to a third-party system. Would it belong in its own document? Or would it be better to put it in the functional or design spec? Or somewhere else? When I say file specification, I mean a description of what format the file is (CSV, fixed width, etc), columns, data types, etc. Also, where should you document how the file is generated? i.e. business rules/algorithms which are used to generate the file.

  • Class works without declaring variables?

    - by Maxim Droy
I'm learned php as functional and procedure language. Right now try to start learn objective-oriented and got an important question. I have code: class car { function set_car($model) { $this->model = $model; } function check_model() { if($this->model == "Mercedes") echo "Good car"; } } $mycar = new car; $mycar->set_car("Mercedes"); echo $mycar->check_model(); Why it does work without declaration of $model? var $model; in the begin? Because in php works "auto-declaration" for any variables? I'm stuck

  • Why does refreshing a page with a google map often fail?

    - by Shawn
I'm working on a website that needs google maps, and testing is being a bitch because refreshing the page very often fails (hangs endlessly) so I need to go to a different page and come back in order to test the new version of the code. I have noticed that refreshing the page only fails on pages with maps, so I'm guessing these are related. Does anyone have a clue?
