  • Adding dynamic content with events in jquerymobile

    - by Christian Waidner
    Currently I'm stuck with a problem in jquerymobile: I'm adding items to a list dynamically and use enhanceWithin() in the end (so styling is correct). After this I like to add click-events for each list item but the problem is, that enhanceWithin runs asynchronous and so I always get the error message "cannot call methods on checkboxradio prior to initialization; attempted to call method 'refresh'" When I delay the event-adding-code it works perfectly. Does anyone have an idea if there is a enhanceWithin.done event or anything else I can use? HTML: ... <div id="shoppinglist">Loading list...</div> ... Javascript: function updateList() { var result = ""; $.each(shoppinglistItems, function (index, item) { result += '<label><input type="checkbox" ' + item.checked + ' id="item_' + item.id + '">' + item.name + '</label>\n'; }); $('#shoppinglist').html(result).enhanceWithin(); // Change-Events an die Checkboxen knoten $('input[id*=item_]').unbind('change').bind('change', function (event) { var itemid = $(this).attr('id'); itemid = (itemid.split('_'))[1]; // Nur die Zahl extrahieren // Passendes Item aus der Liste der Items suchen und checken $.each(shoppinglistItems, function (index, item) { if (item.id == itemid) { item.checked = "checked"; item.timestamp = moment().format("YYYYMMDDHHmmss"); } }); updateList(); }); }

  • How to put buttons in a html page in a jQuery dialog

    - by Robert
    eHello everyone,the following is my code to display a jquery dialog window with a closing button "OK": <script type="text/javascript"> $(function(){$("#dialog").dialog({autoOpen:false,bgiframe:true,buttons: { "OK": function() { $(this).dialog("close"); } }, width:500, height: 350, modal: true, show: 'slide', hide:'slide', title:"Similar Trends Detected in 2nd DataSet"}); $("#userid").focus(); }); function showForm(matches){ $("#dialog").html(matches).dialog("open");} Currently it runs by supplying a string variable "matches",then the content of the variable gets displayed on the dialog frame. Now me and my teammate want to extend this dialog a little,we want to attach a button to every line inside the html content("matches" variable),please note that we don't want buttons in the dialog(like another "OK" button),but we want buttons "inside" the frame (the actual html content). So I would like some help here,how could I modify my "matches" variable,to have buttons also shown inside the dialog. Thanks.

  • Javascript / Jquery Tree Travesal question

    - by Copper
    Suppose I have the following <ul> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2 <ul> <li>Sub Item</li> </ul> </li> <li>Item 3</li> </ul> This list is auto-generated by some other code (so adding exclusive id's/class' is out of the question. Suppose I have some jquery code that states that if I mouseover an li, it gets a background color. However, if I mouseover the "Sub Item" list item, "Item 2" will be highlighted as well. How can I make it so that if the user mouses over "Sub Item" it only puts a background color on that and not on "Item 2" as well?

  • jquery.position() isn't working correctly.

    - by devzero
    I'm working on a menu system where I want a ul to show as a dropdown when the users does a mouseOver on li in another ul. I thought I'd use position to set the position of the dropdown (so it actually looks like a menu). What I want is the dropdown's top left corner to start at the same place as the bottom left corner of the wrapping listitem. Unfortunately the positioning fails in several different ways: In Firefox it seems like the dropdown's are offset with approximately -100 25 pixels the first item in the list has a different offset on the left side compared to the other items The offset in IE is not the same as in FF Doing the positioning repeatedly in explorer results in different positions each time. I've created a test page where you can see the effects: http://test.evju.biz/test/test_position.html

  • How to use jquery .animate() to mock 'text-align:right'

    - by mrwienerdog
    I am building a very simple jquery menu. On hover, I have a menu on the right easing to the left margin of my menu container. This is easy, as the text is left aligned within said container. However, I also have a menu on the left, and because the links (left justified) are of differing length, the best I can do is adjust the padding to ease the text a uniform amount between links. Therefor, long link text goes to the right edge of the container, buy short text only makes it about half way. In reading about this, I have learned that you can not modify the text align property as it is non numeric. Is there any other way to do this? I of course tried to go with: $('#selector').css('text-align':'right') but that made the text jump to the right instead of ease. Is there any way to ensure all links ease to the rightmost margin of the container?

  • jQuery: Fade not working

    - by Rosarch
    For some reason, jQuery's fade effect isn't working. Could it be because of the code? This function does everything it is supposed to, aside from the fading. It gets called at the correct time. function moveToTerm(original_course, helper, term) { var cloned_course = original_course.clone(true); original_course.addClass('already-scheduled'); helper.fadeOut(function() { cloned_course.appendTo(term).attr('style', '').fadeIn("slow"); }); } UPDATE: It fails in both FF 3.5.9 and IE 8.

    Can I create an event so I can execute some javascript whenever an element with a specific ID becomes visible or appears on the page? The element comes from a remote resource (so isn't in MY html code but appears on page load) and I'd like some code to run when it appears (and only if it appears, it may not appear every load). Thanks!

  • Old functions return 'undefined' error once I add a jquery reference

    - by Lapa
    Disregard this question: I've simply confused <script src="..."></script> tag and <script> [some functions] </scipt> tags. I have this function function OnLoad() { ShowHideConfirmAnswers(); return true; } triggered by onload event: <body onload=OnLoad()> It works fine until I add src="jquery-1.4.2.js" to the script element. From this moment I get "OnLoad is not defined" error, and the same happens to every other javascript function.

  • How can i get the selected option name or id of a select element using jQuery

    - by bill
    Hi All, i have a "questionairre" that is made up of a series of select boxes. i need to use two properties in the options. For each selected option i need the value (which i know how to get and is working fine) but i also need to store an additional value which represents the id of the specific option in a DB. One solution would be to put the two values in the "value" property and parse it out.. but if there is some other property i can use that might be easier and clearer.. can i add a custom property?? like databaseId that could be accessed with jQuery? thanks for ANY suggestions.

  • jquery for loop on click image swap

    - by user2939914
    I've created a for loop of images. I would like each image to swap with another image on click individually. Here's the jQuery I've written so far: for ( var i = 1; i < 50; i++) { $('article').append('<div class="ps-block" id="' + i + '"><img src="img/bw/' + i + 'bw.png"></div>'); } $('img').click(function() { var imgid = $(this).attr('id'); $(this).attr("src", "img/color/" + imgid + ".png"); }); I also attempted to use this code inside the for loop after the append, but i ends up returning 50 every time you click since the loop has already ran: $('img[src="img/bw/' + i + 'bw.png"]').click(function() { $(this).attr("src", "img/color/" + this.id + ".png"); }); Thanks!

  • Jquery Scrolling

    - by Rich - Pixel Vector
    I have implemented the following code from this page: http://tympanus.net/codrops/2010/06/02/smooth-vertical-or-horizontal-page-scrolling-with-jquery/ $(document).ready(function() { $('ul.navone li a, ul.navtwo li a,a.toplink, a.bodylink').bind('click',function(event){ var $anchor = $(this); $('html, body, header').stop().animate({ scrollTop: $($anchor.attr('href')).offset().top }, 1500,'easeInOutExpo'); event.preventDefault(); }); }); This all works correctly. However, in my layout I have a fixed header div (i.e. it stays in place when the user scrolls). Therefore I need to set an offset for the scrolling script of 117 pixels. How do I do this please?

  • How to find the submit button in a specific form in jQuery

    - by leifg
    I try to get jQuery object of a submit button in a specific form (there are several forms on the same page). I managed to get the form element itself. It looks something like this: var curForm = curElement.parents("form"); The current Element has the context HTMLInputElement. The several techniques I tried to get the according submit element of the form: var curSubmit = curForm.find("input[type='submit']"); var curSubmit = $(curForm).find("input[type='submit']"); var curSubmit = curForm.find(":submit"); var curSubmit = $(curForm).find(":submit"); var curSubmit = $(curSubmit, "input[type='submit']"); the result is always the same (and very strange). The result that I get is the same element as "curElement". So how can I get the right submit button?

  • Jquery - how to create a sophisticated sidebar that smoothly scrolls down with you

    - by Gal
    I probably couldn't depict it better in the title (and if it has a term let me know), but just to quell the obscurity, I was referring to something like this. After you wait for the page to load, see how when you scroll down, the social media left bar stays fixed, but then when you scroll just enough that it meets your upper side, it sticks to it as you scroll further. I wanted to implement something corny and pretentious like that, so does anybody know a tutorial or a method to get that done in jquery? (I can probably do it myself, if I'm not mistaken, just need some sense of direction from savvy jqueryists). Is there a way to know when and how much a user scrolls? Can it be done with id's like the # url appendix to jump to a specific element? Just some ideas...

    - by Alex
    Hello there, I'm working with a page that has several links that contain the same href text, and I need to select the second anchor element on the page that contains said href text. Here's a simplified version of the link structure of the page: <a href="same/link/to/stuff/">same link</a> <a href="same/link/to/stuff/">same link</a> How do I fashion my selector so that it only selects the second anchor in the above example? Thanks!!
