I can't find this answer anywhere. What does it mean when there's a sender parameter in a method header? Does it represent the instance that called it, or the method that called it?
Ok this is a homework questions, but I cannot find the answer anywhere, not even in the book.
Path to Files

Hi,
If someone asks me the below questions
What an Android Framework is?
What does it do?
How should I answer?
Also what is the role of API's such as Activity Manager, Location Manager etc in the Framework?
My right hand is temporarily immobilized. I would like to do some minor work in Emacs, mostly in Org-mode, but also some in AUCTeX. Is there some way to ease one-handed work in Emacs such as some mode or particular work flow? For instance I noticed pressing C-x u is easier than C-_ for undoing and that it is easier to mark text with methods involving C-Space than with combinations of S- and movement commands.
I have found http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2391805/how-can-i-remain-productive-with-one-hand-completely-immobilized but that is not what I am asking for. I want to ease whatever little time spent one-handed in Emacs and this is also interesting for situations where there is no injury involved, such as when one hand is occupied. I also do realize I should avoid unnecessary strain.
I'm running a CAKeyframeAnimation in a subclass of UIViewController. I want to pause the animation on pressing a "Pause" button and start back from where it paused on pressing a "Resume" button.
I've come across an answer to a similar question on this site, but it doesn't work for me.
I would appreciate any help.
hi
I am writing a C# Windows application program and I'm using an add-on for creating chart in it,but when I run this program on another windows which has .net framework but not that package it does not work and give me exception.
I want to know how can I correct this problem even with setup file?
and if the answer is setup file then how should I do that?
thank you
A friend of mine sent me this code snippet to celebrate his new baby birth:
void new_baby_name() { father_surname++; }
The snippet is from his point of view, he is the father and the new baby get the surname from him.
I answered with this:
class father_name {};
class mother_name {};
class new_baby_name: public father_name, public mother_name {};
but I am not fully satisfied of my answer...
I've been trying to figure how whether the iPhone (either 3G or 3Gs) camera puts metadata into it's images. Anecdotally, it appears that it does (e.g., I've seen images posted on the web that included a bunch of metadata), but I can't find reference to it anywhere in the SDK documentation. So....does anyone have a definitive answer? Also, if there is metadata, how do I get at it?
Hi everyone. I'd ideally like a vim answer to this:
I want to change
[*, 1, *, *] to [*, 2, *, *]
Here the stars refer to individual characters in the substring, which I would like to keep unchanged. For example
[0, 1, 0, 1] to [0, 2, 0, 1]
[1, 1, 1, 1] to [1, 2, 1, 1]
If people know how to do this in perl or python or whatever, that would be equally good.
Cheers
How do I ensure each and every field of my structures are initialized in GCC when using designated initializers? (I'm especially interested in function pointers.) (I'm using C not C++.)
Here is an example:
typedef struct {
int a;
int b;
} foo_t;
typedef struct {
void (*Start)(void);
void (*Stop)(void);
} bar_t;
foo_t fooo = {
5
};
foo_t food = {
.b=4
};
bar_t baro = {
NULL
};
bar_t bard = {
.Start = NULL
};
-Wmissing-field-initializers does not help at all. It works for fooo only in GCC (mingw 4.7.3, 4.8.1), and clang does only marginally better (no warnings for food and bard).
I'm sure there is a reason for not producing warnings for designated initializer (even when I explicitly ask for them) but I want/need them. I do not want to initialize structures based on order/position because that is more error prone (for example swapping Start and Stop won't even give any warning). And neither gcc nor clang will give any warning that I failed to explicitly initialize a field (when initializing by name). I also don't want to litter my code with if(x.y==NULL) lines for multiple reasons, one of which is I want compile time warnings and not runtime errors.
At least splint will give me warnings on all 4 cases, but unfortunately I cannot use splint all the time (it chokes on some of the code (fails to parse some C99, GCC extensions)).
Note: If I'm using a real function instead of NULL GCC will also show a warning for baro (but not bard).
I searched google and stack overflow but only found related questions and have not found answer for this specific problem.
The best match I have found is 'Ensure that all elements in a structure are initialized'
Ensure that all elements in a structure are initialized
Which asks pretty much the same question, but has no satisfying answer.
Is there a better way dealing with this that I have not mentioned?
(Maybe other code analysis tool? Preferably something (free) that can be integrated into Eclipse or Visual Studio...)
In R, what is the most efficient way to count the length between 2 values. for example, i have vector x , which are all randomly choose from 1 to 100, how can i find out the length between the first"2" and first"40",
x=(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,40,1,2,3,21,4,1,23,4,43,23,4,12,3,43,5,36,3,45,12,31,3,4,23,41,23,5,53,45,3,7,6,36)
for this vector, the answer should be 5 and 6

"Largest number of McNuggets that cannot be bought in exact quantity: n"

Hello:
I listen much about new Microsoft terminologies such as WPF, WCF, WWF, ASP.NET MVC, Silverlight, entity framework, LINQ. I would like to see in a visual map:
1) how these products interrelate
2) Which are complements of which.
3) Order of priority to learn
I think all the names that I mentioned, together with the use of Visual Studio applies to web developments.
I need a good answer to guide my efforts of Web development in the best way.
Thanks.
I need to write a query that creates a view that calculates the total cost of each sale, by considering quantity and price of each bought item. The view should return the debit and total cost.

Hi folks.

After some googling an obvious answer or starting point for a Java IRC bot has not presented itself, my question; is there an existing framework to help me do build an IRC bot? Failing that, is this possible using Sockets in Java to do this and has anyone seen an example around the web?

I'm sure there's not just 1 answer to this but, do game engines actually change the vectors in memory, or use gltransformations? Because pushing and popping the matrix all the time seems inefficient, but if you keep modifying the verticies you cant make use of display lists. So I'm wondering how it's done in general. Thanks
I'm generating a dynamic number of Google Charts tables after receiving the content through an ajax request and I wanted to apply an accordion effect on them. I wanted to know if I could do that with directives (since if I just code render the angular tags they won't get interpreted).
I don't need a code example, just a short answer to see if I should learn directives or if I should do it in a different way (I was thinking routeParams).
Thanks!
I sweated over the question above. The answer I'm going to supply took me a while to piece together, but it still seems hopelessly primitive and hacky compared to what one could do were completion to be redesigned to be less staticky. I'm almost afraid to ask if there's some good reason that completion logic seems to be completely divorced from the program it's completing for.
