• Amazon EC2 pem file stopped working suddenly

  I was connecting to Amazon EC2 through SSH and it was working well. But all of a sudden, it stopped working. I am not able to connect anymore with the same key file. What can go wrong ? • How to assign permissions to ApplicationPoolIdentity account

  In IIS 7 on Windows Server 2008, application pools can be run as the "ApplicationPoolIdentity" account instead of the NetworkService account. How do I assign permissions to this "ApplicationPoolIdentity" account. It does not appear as a local user on the machine. It does not appear as a group anywhere. Nothing remotely like it appears anywhere. When I browse for local users, groups, and built-in accounts, it does not appear in the list, nor does anything similar appear in the list. What is going on? I'm not the only one with this problem: see Trouble with ApplicationPoolIdentity in IIS 7.5 + Windows 7 for an example. "This is unfortunately a limitation of the object picker on Windows Server 2008/Windows Vista - as several people have discovered it already, you can still manipulate the ACL for the app-pool identity using command line tools like icacls."

  I have an Excel workbook with a lot of rows in it. I filter it using the values of one column and then I want to save the filtered results to a CSV file. When I do "Save as..." I get all the rows. I can copy paste the filtered results to another sheet and save from there but I'd rather not. It's Excel 2003 primarily.

• SSH onto Ubuntu box using RSA keys

  I recently installed OpenSSH on one of my Ubuntu machines and I've been running into problems getting it to use RSA keys. I've generated the RSA key on the client (ssh-keygen), and appended the public key generated to both the /home/jex/.ssh/authorized_keys and /etc/ssh/authorized_keys files on the server.   Hi, I recently updated my nexus one to 2.2. Now I can't connect to my uni's wifi. They use PEAP with GTC. I had it working fine on 2.1. Also it works fine on my Ubuntu laptop. I have entered my uni number (user name) in the identity box. I have entered my password in the password box. I have emailed the certificated that works on Ubuntu to my self and installed it on the nexus one. I have enabled secure credentials. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Glen.

• 500 Error when using custom account for application pool in IIS 7

  I have a very simple site with only static files in IIS 7 on Windows Server 2008 SP2. When I try to access any static file I get a 500 error. If I rename an html file to have an aspx extension it works fine. The site also works fine when using the built in identity for the application pool. The problem occurs when I switch to using a custom account for the application pool. I have tried using both local and domain accounts to run the application pool under. I have given full control to these accounts on the website directory and files. Turning on tracing reveals this error message: ModuleName: IIS Web Core Notification: 2 HttpStatus: 500 HttpReason: Internal Server Error HttpSubStatus: 0 ErrorCode: 2147943746 ConfigExceptionInfo Notification: AUTHENTICATE_REQUEST ErrorCode: Either a required impersonation level was not provided, or the provided impersonation level is invalid. (0x80070542) I have not had any luck with googling the error code.

• Issue with Reporting Services - rsreportserver.config is denied

  Error message is 'd:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config' is denied.' I open SSRS configuration and I do see the service as started and running. I gave Network Services the necessary permissions in the reportserver folder and config file. SQL Server and SSRS are using LocalSystem as the 'Log On As' in Sql server configuration manager. Most of my sites I googled seem only relevant when it's Network Service running. I changed it to log on as NT Autority\NetworkService but still had the same issue. In SSRS Config Manager, I see that Web Service Identity is not configured (red), though it is showing as readonly domain\aspnet. Windows Server 2003 R2 and SSRS 2005

  I am trying to move messages from a rather large mailbox to an archive mailbox. However I run into errors all the time. the command I am executing is Export-Mailbox -Identity MAILBOX_FROM -TargetMailbox ARCHIVE -TargetFolder ARCHIVE_FOLDER -StartDate 2009-02-01 -EndDate 2009-02-28 -DeleteContent -Confirm:$false I can copy/move some messages, but run into frequent "an unknown error has occurred" (statuscode -1056749164) I run the console as administrative user, and all permissions are set right, as far as I can tell. I've restricted the start and end dates in case the number of messages moved/deleted should create problems. Anything I am missing in my setup? Corrupted messages? Over-limit message sizes?

Windows is listening on TCP port 445: TCP 0.0.0.0:445 WIN7TEST:0 ABHÖREN The corresponding incoming firewall rule isn't activated (4th column): When I choose "workplace network" the SMB incoming port 445 rule is still disabled in the advanced windows firewall configuration. I thought "public network" / "workplace network" and so on is influencing the windows firewall rules!? • Changing IP every sec with Firefox

  I looking for ip changer what is faster than PROXY (i tried Elite Proxy Switcher + Firefox add-on, but it's too slow. I set automatic switching to 4 sec and yes he change the ip every 4 sec however it's not enough because it loads pages very slowly.) Secondly I tried the TOR Project but this is not good..because the TOR would be nice and working good however he needs more than 10 seconds, a new identity and it's not to good for me because i want to change my ip lass than 10 sec. So I find the solution. This is IPfucker alias ipFlood (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox.../ipflood/) But it does not work on all sites unfortunately...because this is just simulation "Simulate the use of a series of proxy changing at each new connection.". Anyone knows a solution to the problem? Is there an alternative (VPS, Proxy, TOR)? Thanks in advice.

  I have a PEM file which I add to a running ssh-agent: $ file query.pem query.pem: PEM RSA private key $ ssh-add ./query.pem Identity added: ./query.pem (./query.pem) $ ssh-add -l | grep query 2048 ef:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX ./query.pem (RSA) My question is how I can get the key fingerprint I see in ssh-agent directly from the file. I know ssh-keygen -l -f some_key works for "normal" ssh keys, but not for PEM files. If I try ssh-keygen on the .pem file, I get: $ ssh-keygen -l -f ./query.pem key_read: uudecode PRIVATE KEY----- failed key_read: uudecode PRIVATE KEY----- failed ./query.pem is not a public key file. This key starts with: -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- MIIEp.... etc. as opposed to a "regular" private key, which looks like: -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- Proc-Type: 4,ENCRYPTED DEK-Info: AES-128-CBC,E15F2.... etc.

  I just migrated a development workstation FROM: Windows XP Pro SP3 with IIS 6 TO: Vista Enterprise 64bit with IIS 7 Since the move, one of my pages that accesses an SQL Server 2000 database is receiving the following error from my ASP.NET 2.0 web page: "Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'." I have: enabled Windows Authentication in IIS and web.config disabled Anonymous Authentication in IIS set up Impersonation to run as the authenticated user verified that the logged in user (in this case, me) has access to the appropriate database on the SQL Server verified that my login and impersonation information is correct in the ASP.NET page by checking User.Identity.Name and System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().Name (both display my username) My connection string using SqlConnection is "Server={SERVER_NAME};Database={DB_NAME};Integrated Security=SSPI;Trusted_Connection=True;" Why is it trying to login with NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGIN? I have to assume it's some setting or web.config entry specific to IIS7 since it worked fine before the migration. NOTE: The SQL Server is Windows authentication only - no mixed mode or SQL only.

• Group policy applied to AD OU attributes

  I'm not well-versed in AD, so would like to resolve a question I have with regards to AD information. I understand that it is possible to apply group policy to OU's, thereby restricting access. What I'd like to know is, is it possible to do the same with OU attributes. Some context would help. There's a requirement to store address information in AD (IMO, a natural fit), but for various reasons, although obviously things like name should be globally accessible, access restrictions are desired on the address.   Is it possible to send an email alert when a field of a list is empty ? I've tried the following : Create a custom list, add a field named "TestField" Create a personal view named "TestView", filter : Show when column "TestField" is equal to "" (leave the box empty) Create an alert, immediate email when items appearing in "TestView" are modified Create an item with both fields filled Create an item with only title filled Now you should receive two alert emails, but in the view "TestView" there is only one item. Is it a bug ?

• Set a formula on many cells with minimal manual edits

  I need to set the following formula on many cells: =VLOOKUP(MAX(Historical!$A$5:$FZ$99999),Historical!$A$5:$FZ$99999,7,1) This formula looks up the most recent date in the History table, and returns the value specified. Here I'm returning column 7. How can I paste the cells and auto increment the value where "7" is. In other words I need to paste that summary formula on several hundred cells and change the number 7 for each.
