• Zend Framework cleaning default routes when adding other

  I have the following problem with Zend Framework. My project has several controllers like Video,Category and Post. The VideoController has an Action called categorylist, so the default URL/Route becomes /video/categorylist Since the action requires 3 parameters I whant to add one simple route: $router->addRoute( 'categorylist', new Zend_Controller_Router_Route('categorylist/:category/:page/:per_page', array('controller' => 'video', 'action' => 'categorylist','page'=>1,'per_page'=>6,'category'=>1)) ); With this I got my URL like www.siteurl.com/categorylist/42/1/6 but, the View Helper URL got crazy, and every url for the other controllers I try to echo it´s redirected to the categorylist route. So when I try this: <?= $this->url(array("controller"=> "video", "action" =>"view",'category'=>1),null,true)?> The expected result its /video/view/category/1, but I got /categorylit only. I tryied to debug the default routes but I got an empty array. print_r($ctrl->getRouter()->getRoutes()); Does anyone have some clue about this wierd behavior? I´m using Zend Framework Version 1.9.7

  Hello, so far I've been using ASP.Net 3 BETA. Everything was working fine till the update to RC2 version. Of course I've read ScottGu's article about RC2. My problem is following. Basically I have 2 controllers: public class DynamicPageController : Controller { public ActionResult Redirect(string resource, int? pageNumber, int? id) { } } public class SystemController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { } } In the Globals.asax I have routes like this: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.MapRoute( "SystemRoute", "System/{action}", new { controller = "System", action = "Index" } ); routes.MapRoute( "PageRoute", "{resource}/{id}/{pageNumber}", new { controller = "DynamicPage", action = "Redirect", resource = UrlParameter.Optional, pageNumber = UrlParameter.Optional, id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); } In the code, I have simple link creation: System.Web.Mvc.UrlHelper u = new System.Web.Mvc.UrlHelper(context); string url = u.Action("Index", "System"); and the url is "/my_app/System" in both versions (BETA and RC2) But the code below (the syntax is the same as above, only controller and action names are different): string url = u.Action("Redirect", "DynamicPage", new RouteValueDictionary(new { resource = "Home" })); gives url which is null in RC2. It should be (and in fact in BETA was) "/my_app/Home" Why ? Is it a bug ? How can I create url for my "DynamicPage" controller ? Regards BTW: From where can I now download ASP.Mvc BETA version along with ASP.Net Web Pages 1.0 installers ? Since RC2 announcement I have problems finding mentioned 2 installers. Normally I would upgrade my code but this issue described above makes me stay with BETA for a while, since I have no time for migration and testing everything now.

• Buddypress with bbpress: Showing latest topics on front page

  I'm doing a wordpress solution with BuddyPress and bbPress, where I need to display the five newest topics on the homepage, as if it was blog-entries, but it seems kind of hard to accomplish. I'm figuring I gotta do something with the activity stream, but it seems like the stream is based on the user who is currently logged in, which is not what I want. So what should I do? Use a nifty plugin that does the trick (maybe someone knows a plugin I don't know of, as I've already tried the bbPress Latest Discussion plugin) Hardcode a forum-activity loop into the page-template file, using the is_front_page() function? Is there a forum-activity hook, that display the latest forum topics sitewide? Thanks in advance

  Has anyone found a solution to decompressing RAR files on iPhone (not Jailbroken)? It would be great if there was a library similar to libz. I did not find anything official from [URL="http://www.rarlab.com/"]RARlab[/URL]. Anyone successful with integrating [URL="http://wdtz.org/iphone/unrar/"]unRAR[/URL] into their app? The source code appears to be C++? I know that this has been asked before, but I've not seen a solution other than porting unRAR which is beyond me. • Silverlight 4 Twitter Client &ndash; Part 7

  Download this article as a PDF Welcome back :) This week we are going to look at something more exciting and a much required feature for any twitter client – auto refresh so as to show new status updates. We are going to achieve this using Silverlight 4 Timers and a bit and refresh our datagrid every 2 minutes to show new updates. We will do this so that we do only minimal request to the twitter api, so that twitter does not block us – there is a limit of 150 request an hour. Let us get started now. Also we will get the profile user id hyperlinked, so that when ever the user click on it, we will take them to their twitter page. Also it was a pain to always run this application by pressing F5, then it would open in a browser you would have to right click uninstall and install it again to see any changes. All this and yet we were not able to debug it :( Now there is a solution for this to run a silverlight application directly out of browser and yet have the debug feature. Super cool, here is how. Right on the Silverlight project and go to debug and then select the Out-Of-Browser application option and choose the *.Web project. Then just right click on the SL project and set as Startup Project. There you go, now every time you press F5, it will automatically run out of browser and still have the debug options. I go to know about this after some binging. Now let us jump to the core straight away. 1) To get the user id hyperlinked, we need to have a DataGridTemplateColumn and within that have a HyperLinkButton. The code for this will  be <data:DataGridTemplateColumn> <data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <HyperlinkButton Click="HyperlinkButton_Click" Content="{Binding UserName}" TargetName="_blank" ></HyperlinkButton> </DataTemplate> </data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </data:DataGridTemplateColumn> 2) Now let us look at how we are getting this done by looking into HyperlinkButton_Click event handler. There we will dynamically set the NavigateUri to the twitter page. In the above timer code, its set to trigger the Each_Tick event handler every 1 minute (60 seconds). But if it is some list timeline that is bound in the datagrid, I then call the getListStatus method with the currentGrid string which will actually be holding the list name. 6) I wanted to make the hyperlinks inside the status message as hyperlinks and when the user clicks on it, we can then open that link. • problem with custom NSProtocol and caching on iPhone

  My iPhone app embeds a UIWebView which loads html via a custom NSProtocol handler I have registered. My problem is that resources referenced in the returned html, which are also loaded via my custom protocol handler, are cached and never reloaded. I thought clearing the shared url cache would work, but it doesnt: [[NSURLCache sharedURLCache] removeAllCachedResponses]; One thing that does work, but it's terribly inefficient, is to dynamically cache-bust the url for the stylesheet by adding a timestamp parameter: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="./styles.css?ts=1234567890" /> To make this work I have to load my html from the db, search and replace the url for the stylesheet with a cache-busting parameter that changes on each request. I'd rather not do this. My presumption is that there is no problem if I were to load my content via the built-in HTTP protocol. In that case, I'm guessing that the UIWebView looks at any Cache-Control flags in the NSURLHTTPResponse object's http headers and abides by them. Since my NSURLResponseObject has no http headers (it's not http...) then perhaps UIWebView just decides to cached the resource (ignoring the NSURLRequest caching directive?). Ideas???

• How To Specify Bitrate, Codec and Demultiplexing for VLC Video Capture or Recording

  I capture video from old TV tuner card - Pinnacle PCTV - using VLC. The video is from the Composite input and audio is from I guess the mixer or Line in. The command I use is: vlc v4l2:///dev/video0:normal=pal:width=720:height=576:input=1 :input-slave="alsa://hw:0,0" In VLC, I have enabled the Advanced Controls toolbar, which allows me to record videos when I want to. However, these videos are uncompressed - very big and play only with VLC. Totem throws the "Could not demultiplex stream" error. I need to convert them using WinFF to reduce their size and make them playable with Totem and other software. My question is whether I can configure the recording settings - the codecs and the bitrate, and also get the stream demultiplexed. If I pass any -sout parameter with command I get a "Segmentation fault". I use 64-bit Ubuntu 10.10.

  Hi, Relating to another question I asked regarding setting up Mercurial under VisualSvn server. Currently when you go to the /svn/ url you can see all repos including hg repos. I now want some way to redirects you to the correct url for hg repos Eg myserver/svn/MecurialRepo = myserver/hg/MercurialRepo Or the correct hg script is run, or somehow disable the Mecurial repos from not displaying under the svn url. I have tried using the RewriteRule in the conf file, seems like something is ignoring the it. Thanks

• Post login execution

  Hello, I need to do some processing only after the user has successfully logged in the system. I have thought that I can do a RESTful method and setting it as the default-target-url so when the login is successful it goes to this url and then I can redirect to the real index of my web application. <form-login login-page='/login.htm' default-target-url='/home.htm' always-use-default-target='true' /> The problem is that this processing can be executed by calling its URL so it could be executed by any user at any time. I want to make sure it is only executed after login. Is there any way to do this? Thank you very much.

• can't jQuery 3d party dialog to do what i want :)

  i'm using NyroModal, a 3rd party jQuery based dialog script. According to these settings, I should be able to do this: $.nyroModalManual({ type : 'ajax', url : '/url', 'ajax' : { url : '/url', data : 'somedata=1' } }); However I receive an error "$.ajax() is not defined". How could this be? p.s. If I run console.debug($.ajax()) right before the nyroModalManual part, it shows the XMLHTTPObject nicely, so I'm probably doing something wrong in the settings... I just need to be able to pass data.

• Replacing backslash with another symbol in PHP

  Hi there, Been struggling with replacing a backslash by another symbol such as '.-.' just to indicate the position of backslashes as I could not send a string such as 'C\xampp\etc.' through url as GET variable so I thought I'd first replace the backslashes in that string by another symbol, then send through url, and then replace them back to backslashes in the PHP file that handles it. Though would there be a better way to send such strings through url? Because when I try a script such as: $tmp_name = preg_replace("\", ".-.", $_FILES['uploadfile']['tmp_name']); It turns out into a php error as \ is also used as delimiter.. Could anyone help me out on this? Thanks in advanced! Btw, if I'd be able to send a full array through url, this whole problem would be solved, but I don't think it's possible?

Now I know it's because that I need to give the correct information such as browser, how can I know what kind of information I need to set, and how can I set it? (By setHeader function??) • Problem in loading cities using JSON

  I am using Geonames for loading the cities using JSON. Geonames data i imported into my database. I am using MS SQL 2008 Server. I display a dropdown for country select. Once the user select the country. I am loading all the cities into the autocomplete textbox. I am facing a delay in the getJSON method. Also it seems like executing asynchronous. So before getting all the data my autocompelte is getting filled. Below is my complete script. I think i have some problem in the loop. I can strip it out using Replace on the final xdoc.ToString(), but is there a more correct way?

  I'm trying to figure out how this would be done in practice, so as not to violate the Open Closed principle. Say I have a class called HttpFileDownloader that has one function that takes a url and downloads a file returning the html as a string. This class implements an IFileDownloader interface which just has the one function. So all over my code I have references to the IFileDownloader interface and I have my IoC container returning an instance of HttpFileDownloader whenever an IFileDownloader is Resolved. Then after some use, it becomes clear that occasionally the server is too busy at the time and an exception is thrown. I decide that to get around this, I'm going to auto-retry 3 times if I get an exception, and wait 5 seconds in between each retry. So I create HttpFileDownloaderRetrier which has one function that uses HttpFileDownloader in a for loop with max 3 loops, and a 5 second wait between each loop. So that I can test the "retry" and "wait" abilities of the HttpFileDownloadRetrier I have the HttpFileDownloader dependency injected by having the HttpFileDownloaderRetrier constructor take an IFileDownloader. So now I want all Resolving of IFileDownloader to return the HttpFileDownloaderRetrier. But if I do that, then HttpFileDownloadRetrier's IFileDownloader dependency will get an instance of itself and not of HttpFileDownloader. So I can see that I could create a new interface for HttpFileDownloader called IFileDownloaderNoRetry, and change HttpFileDownloader to implement that. But that means I'm changing HttpFileDownloader, which violates Open Closed. Or I could implement a new interface for HttpFileDownloaderRetrier called IFileDownloaderRetrier, and then change all my other code to refer to that instead of IFileDownloader. But again, I'm now violating Open Closed in all my other code. So what am I missing here? How do I wrap an existing implementation (downloading) with a new layer of implementation (retrying and waiting) without changing existing code?   I created a new Azure Website, using Umbraco as the CMS. I got a page up and going, and I already have a .co.nz domain with www.domains4less.com. There's a whole lot of stuff on the internet about pointing URLs to Azure, but that seems to be more of a redirection service than anything (i.e. my URLs still use azurewebsites.net once I land on my site).
