    for big website's CSS what we should use IE condition sheets ( IE6, IE7, IE8 if needed) or CSS hacks in multiple people environment? and CSS will be handled by multiple people. I'm thinking to use hacks with proper comments because there are chanceh to forgot for other to make any changes in both css.     I have a fairly large CSS file developed by my web designer. There are, of course, plenty of IDs, classes and tag properties assigned therein. Are there any tools to automatically generate HTML based on a CSS source file? For example: #basicInfoHead{ background:url(../images/leftHeaders.jpg) no-repeat; margin-left: 0px; width:185px; height:28px; } #basicInfoHead span{ float: left; } Would generate <div id=basicInfoHead><span>#basicInfoHead span</span></div> Etc etc. From there, I could preview the generated code in my browser, and see what each of the individual (primarily text) styles would look like. I've already spent over 20 hours on this and I would've never believed it if someone told me writing a LaTeX parser was a walk in the park in comparison.   • Programmatically clean Word generated HTML while preserving styles?

    In my current company, we have this decade old... let's call it a "Hello World" application. While wanting to create a newer version of it, we also want to preserve older entries. These older entries contain hideous Word generated HTML which was never filtered before. If and when we move to a newer system, I'd generally prefer to have that HTML cleaned and filtered in order to have the site comply with HTML standards as much as possible. However, just cleaning that code like Jeff Atwood described in his blog or in any other way I know of would also ruin the style and formatting. Now, that just might cause our users to revolt and then all hell will break loose... Not a very good idea. Question is -- can Word's HTML be cleaned while preserving basic formatting? (e.g: coloring, italicized, bold text and so on) Preferably using publicly available code or library, such as HTML Tidy, examples in C# would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • quicktime movie layering issues

    I have a site (link below) where the clients work displays on a long horizontal page. The menu is fixed on the left hand side and the images disappear under the menu when scrolling across. The client has now uploaded quicktime movies which do not go under the menu like the images but scroll over the menu. http://www.calebchurchill.com/projects/horny_dog/ I have tried to sort this using z-index but am so far been unsuccessful. Any ideas?

I want it to have square corners and the shades should be removed, too. It should look like this: But I'm not good enough at (X)HTML and CSS so I didn't manage to achieve this.     I have created an organizational chart using ASP.NET on web page. The web page is using strict DOCTYPE and following W3C standards. The chart has a hierarchical layout decided by the manager field in the table that contains employees in the organization. The chart layout has nodes with employee image and other details like job title, department and contact details. Nodes are beautifully arranged and connected by lines (only horizontal or vertical or both). A lot of DIV elements are used (to avoid table) for connecting lines and arranging the chart properly. As suggested by my friend, using DIVs for connecting lines in the chart is semantically wrong. Is there a way by which I can make it semantically correct? Or, am I using HTML for the wrong purpose?
