• Are there localization tools which spot content strings in xaml/wpf?

    - by Noel Kennedy
    When globalizing a wpf application with static resx classes, it's very easy to miss the odd label or button that has its Content property set to a hard coded string in a particular language, ie English. These should of course be moved off to a {x:Static ...} so they can be localised for each culture. Are there any tools which can spot this and warn you? Built in to VS would be ideal, but I'm thinking that 'style cop' type build tools would do the job as well.

  • Is using joins in select clause slow in Oracle?

    - by gniquil
    I would like to write a query like the following select username, (select state from addresses where addresses.username = users.username) email from users This works in Oracle (assuming the result from the inner query is unique). However, is there a performance penalty associated with this style of writing query?

  • Z-index issues in IE8 while using 960 grid

    - by Shane Reustle
    I am having an issue in IE8 where my dropdown-style navigation is going behind another element. I have tried everything from setting the offending element's zindex to 1 and the dropdown to 99 and 999. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm using 960 grid, as it worked before when I wasn't. Update: Problem occurs in IE8.0.6 but not IE8.0.7 Here is my stylesheet and you can see the issue happening here

  • Using UNC path as paths location in Mecurial IIS6 Server2003

    - by Chris M
    I'm running the latest Mercurial and Python 2.6; IIS6 is using the wildcard ISAPI method to attach the site to the Mecurial hgwebdir_wsgi [paths] \ = \\COMP3254\TestRepo\* [web] baseurl = / allow_push = * push_ssl = false style = monoblue The setup works perfectly if I reference the local drive E:\repo* but doesnt work if I specify the network as above; I've given the server (MERCDEV01$) full permissions on the shared folder on COMP3254, I can't think of any other reason it wouldn't work. Any ideas?

  • Error when passing data between views

    - by Kristoffer Bilek
    I'm using a plist (array of dictionaries) to populate a tableview. Now, when a cell i pressed, I want to pass the reprecented dictionary to the detail view with a segue. It's working properly to fill the tableview, but how do I send the same value to the detail view? This is my try: #import "WinesViewController.h" #import "WineObject.h" #import "WineCell.h" #import "WinesDetailViewController.h" @interface WinesViewController () @end @implementation WinesViewController - (id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewStyle)style { self = [super initWithStyle:style]; if (self) { // Custom initialization } return self; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; } - (void)viewDidUnload { [super viewDidUnload]; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait); } #pragma mark - Table view data source - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { wine = [[WineObject alloc] initWithLibraryName:@"Wine"]; self.title = @"Vinene"; [self.tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:[self.tableView indexPathForSelectedRow] animated:YES]; } - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { // Return the number of sections. return 1; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { // Return the number of rows in the section. return [wine libraryCount]; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"wineCell"; WineCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; // Configure the cell... cell.nameLabel.text = [[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Name"]; cell.districtLabel.text = [[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"District"]; cell.countryLabel.text = [[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Country"]; cell.bottleImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Image"]]; cell.flagImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Flag"]]; cell.fyldeImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Fylde"]]; cell.friskhetImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Friskhet"]]; cell.garvesyreImageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[wine libraryItemAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Garvesyre"]]; return cell; } #pragma mark - Table view delegate - (void)prepareForSegue:(UIStoryboardSegue *)segue sender:(id)sender { if ([[segue identifier] isEqualToString:@"DetailSegue"]) { NSIndexPath *selectedRowIndex = [self.tableView indexPathForSelectedRow]; WinesDetailViewController *winesdetailViewController = [segue destinationViewController]; //Here comes the error line: winesdetailViewController.winedetailName = [wine objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Name"]; } } I get one error for: winesdetailViewController.winedetailName = [wine objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"Name"]; Use of undeclaired identifier: indexPath. did you mean NSIndexPath? I think I've missed something important here..

  • jQuery .live() not working.

    - by Silvio Iannone
    Hi there, my actual problem is that .live() jQuery method is not working. This si the code where i use it: jQuery.fn.sb_animateMenuItem = function() { var mousehoverColor = '#0089F7'; var duration = 250; return this.each(function() { var originalColor = $(this).css('background-color'); $(this).live('mouseover', function() { this.style.cursor = 'pointer'; $(this).animate().stop(); $(this).animate( { backgroundColor: mousehoverColor }, duration); }); $(this).live('mouseout', function() { this.style.cursor = 'default'; $(this).animate( { backgroundColor: originalColor }, duration); }); }); }; This snipped is used i another page in this way: Since my site uses AJAX requests i used the .live method in the first snippet, but when i load the page the effects are not applied the the button/input... tags. If i remove the .live method and use the 'normal' way, ui effects defined in the first snipped are applied but only the the elements loaded before any AJAX request. The elements loaded after the ajax request are not affected by first snippet (though they have the same selector). Thanks for helping.

  • Strange behaviour on postback in ASP.NET

    - by C-King
    I'm working on a website with a login form. To log in, a postback is used to an OnClick handler in the codebehind. Somehow, the value returned from the Text-property of the username and password textboxes is ten times the value I entered, separated by commas. I checked my entire code for double ID's (which seems to be the most common problem causing this behaviour), but I found each ID defined only once. In the ASPX file I have this: <asp:Label ID="lblFeedback" ForeColor="Red" Font-Bold="true" runat="server" Visible="false" />
<asp:Panel ID="pnlLogin" runat="server">

<asp:Label ID="lblUsername" AssociatedControlID="txtUsername" runat="server" />

<asp:TextBox ID="txtUsername" runat="server" />

<asp:Label ID="lblPassword" AssociatedControlID="txtPassword" runat="server" />

<asp:TextBox ID="txtPassword" runat="server" TextMode="password" />

<asp:Button ID="btnLogin" OnClick="btnLogin_Click" runat="server" />

</asp:Panel> The OnClick handler in the Codebehind: protected void btnLogin_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { string username = Util.Escape(txtUsername.Text); string password = Util.Escape(txtPassword.Text); WebsiteUser user = WebsiteUser.Create(username, password); if (user != null) { //Set some session variables and redirect to user profile } else { lblFeedback.Text = Localizer.Translate("INVALID_LOGIN"); lblFeedback.ForeColor = Color.Red; lblFeedback.Visible = true; pnlLogin.Visible = true; } } The website is running on ASP.NET 2.0 on ISS 5.1 (Win XP Pro)

  • jQuery multiple class selection

    - by morpheous
    I am a bit confused with this: I have a page with a set of buttons (i.e. elements with class attribute 'button'. The buttons belong to one of two classes (grp1 and grp2). These are my requirements For buttons with class enabled, when the mouse hovers over them, a 'button-hover' class is added to them (i.e. the element the mouse is hovering over). Otherwise, the hover event is ignored When one of the buttons with class grp2 is clicked on (it has to be 'enabled' first), then I disable (i.e. remove the 'enabled' class for all elements with class 'enabled' (should probably selecting for elements with class 'button' AND 'enabled' - but I am having enough problems as it is, so I need to keep things simple for now). This is what my page looks like:

Demo
<style type="text/css" .button {border: 1px solid gray; color: gray} .enabled {border: 1px solid red; color: red} .button-hover {background-color: blue; }

button 1 button 2 button 3 button 4

Currently, when a button with class 'grp2' is clicked on, the other elements with class 'grp2' have the 'enabled' class removed (works correctly). HOWEVER, I notice that even though the class no longer have a 'enabled' class, SOMEHOW, the hover behaviour is still applied to these elemets (WRONG). Once an element has been 'disabled', I no longer want it to respond to the hover() event. How may I implement this behavior, and what is wrong with the code above (i.e. why is it not working? (I am still learning jQuery)

  • How can I get node coordinates from a graph, using Perl?

    - by jonny
    Ok, I have a flowchart definition (basically, array of nodes and edges for each node). Now I want to calculate coordinates for every task in the flow, preferably hierarchycal style. I need something like Graph::Easy::Layout but I have no idea how to get nodes coordinates: I render nodes myself and I only want to retrieve box coordinates/size. Any suggestions? What I need is a CPAN module available even in Debian repository.

  • simplify expression k/m%n

    - by aaa
    hello. Simple question, is it possible to simplify (or replace division or modulo by less-expensive operation) (k/m)%n where variables are integers and operators are C style division and modulo operators. what about the case where m and n are constants (both or just one), not based 2? Thank you

  • What is the performance difference between blocks and callbacks?

    - by Don
    One of the things that block objects, introduced in Snow Leopard, are good for is situations that would previously have been handled with callbacks. The syntax is much cleaner for passing context around. However, I haven't seen any information on the performance implications of using blocks in this manner. What, if any, performance pitfalls should I look out for when using blocks, particularly as a replacement for a C-style callback?
