  • What are Android different screens dimensions in dp for different screens (e.g. xlarge = 960dp x 720dp)?

    in this link: Range of screens supported, Android team mentioned that: As you design your UI for different screen sizes, you'll discover that each design requires a minimum amount of space. So, each generalized screen size above has an associated minimum resolution that's defined by the system. These minimum sizes are in "dp" units—the same units you should use when defining your layouts—which allows the system to avoid worrying about changes in screen density. xlarge screens are at least 960dp x 720dp large screens are at least 640dp x 480dp normal screens are at least 470dp x 320dp small screens are at least 426dp x 320dp So, If I want to support all Android screens, can I create images, for full screen view, in those dimensions and that will be sufficient condition to support all available screens? or they are just the minimum sizes, and I need other dimensions? If other dimensions are needed, Please list them as in the list above. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi there everyone, I'm trying to place multiple resizable and draggable div's on one page that move (vertically) inside their own parent div. you can take a look at http://bit.ly/bCutBE However, these div's act really strange when I want to resize them, especially from the north side, they kind of move out of the screen very fast, while they shouldn't be able to get outside the parent div. I only want the div to be able to move and resize vertically inside it's parent, the dragging-part works pretty good, but the resize part give this problem. I can't really describe it better than this, but take a look for yourself and it will be clear immediately when you try to resize one of the coloured div's: move it a little downwards and try to resize it from the north side. the problem seems to be caused by the containment: 'parent', line of the resizable. when I delete this line it works fine, but then the coloured blocks don't stay in their parent, and I want them to stay inside their parent.   • Turning on multiple result sets in an ODBC connection to SQL Server

    I have an application that originally needed to connect to Sybase (via ODBC), but I've needed to add the ability to connect to SQL Server as well. As ODBC should be able to handle both, I thought I was in a good position. Unfort, SQL Server will not let me, by default, nest ODBC commands and ODBCDataReaders - it complains the connection is busy. I know that I had to specify that multiple active result sets (MARS) were allowed in similar circumstances when connecting to SQL Server via a native driver, so I thought it wouldn't be an issue. The DSN wizard has no entr y when creating a SystemDSN. Some people have provided registry hacks to get around this, but this did not work (add a MARS_Connection with a value of Yes to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\system-dsn-name). Another suggestion was to create a file-dsn, and add "MARS_Connection=YES" to that. Didn't work. Finally, a DSN-less connection string. I've tried this one (using MultipleActiveResultSets - same variable as a Sql Server connection would use), "Driver={SQL Native Client};Server=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;Database=someDB;Uid=u;Pwd=p;MultipleActiveResultSets=True;" and this one: "Driver={SQL Native Client};Server=192.168.75.33\\ARIA;Database=Aria;Uid=sa;Pwd=service;MARS_Connection=YES;" I have checked the various connection-string sites - they all suggest what I've already tried.

  • Vim: yank and replace -- the same yanked input -- multiple times, and two other questions

    Now that I am using vim for everything I type, rather then just for configuring servers, I wan't to sort out the following trivialities. I tried to formulate Google search queries but the results didn't address my questions :D. Question one: How do I yank and replace multiple times ? Once I have something in the yank history (if that is what its called) and then highlight and use the 'p' char in command mode the replaced text is put at the front of the yank history; therefore subsequent replace operations do not use the the text I intended. I imagine this to be a usefull feature under certain circumstances but I do not have a need for it in my workflow. Question two: How do I type text without causing the line to ripple forward ? I use hard-tab stops to allign my code in a certain way -- e.g., FunctionNameX ( lala * land ); FunctionNameProto ( ); When I figure out what needs to go into the second function, how do I insert it without move the text up ? Question three Is there a way of having a uniform yank history across gvim instances on the same machine ? I have 1 monitors. Just wondering, atm I am using highlight + mouse middle click.

If I have a JSON like the following: {"person1":{"name": "Name One", "address": {"street": "Some Street","city": "Some City"}}, "person2":{"name": "Name Two", "address": {"street": "Some Other Street","city": "Some Other City"}}} [There is no restriction on the number of persons, the input JSON can have many more persons] I could extract this JSON to Persons object by doing var persons = parse(res).extract[T] Here are the related case classes: case class Address(street: String, city: String) case class Person(name: String, address: Address, children: List[Child]) case class Persons(person1: Person, person2: Person) Question: The above scenario works perfectly fine. However the need is that the keys are dynamic in the key/value pairs. So in the example JSON provided, person1 and person2 could be anything, I need to read them dynamically. What's the best possible structure for Persons class to account for that dynamic nature.

  • Consolidate multiple site files into single location

    We have a custom PHP/MySQL CMS running on Linux/Apache thats rolled out to multiple sites (20+) on the same server. Each site uses exactly the same CMS files with a few files for each site being customised. The customised files for each site are: /library/mysql_connect.php /public_html/css/* /public_html/ftparea/* /public_html/images/* There's also a couple of other random files inside /public_html/includes/ that are unique to each site. Other than this each site on the server uses the exact same files. Each site sitting within /home/username/. There is obviously a massive amount of replication here as each time we want to deploy a system update we need to update to each user account. Given the common site files are all stored in SVN it would make far more sense if we were able to simply commit to SVN and deploy to a single location direct from there. Unfortunately, making a major architecture change at this stage could be problematic. In my mind the ideal scenario would mean creating an account like /home/commonfiles/ and each site using these common files unless an account specific file exists, for example a request is made to /home/user/public_html/index.php but as this file doesnt exist the request is then redirected to /home/commonfiles/public_html/index.php. I know that generally this approach is possible, similar to how Zend Framework (and probably others) redirect all requests that dont match a specific file to index.php. I'm just not sure about how exactly to go about implementing it and whether its actually advisable. Would really welcome any input/ideas people have got. Thanks.

  • Does the "Supporting Multiple Screens" document contradict itself?

    In the Supporting Multiple Screens document in the Android Dev Guide, some example screen configurations are given. One of them states that the small-ldpi designation is given to QVGA (240x320) screens with a physical size of 2.6"-3.0". According to this DPI calculator, a 2.8" QVGA display equates to 143 dpi. However, further down the page the document explicitly states that all screens over 140 dpi are considered "medium" density. So which is it, ldpi or mdpi? Is this a mistake? Does anyone know what the HTC Tattoo or similar device actually reports? I don't have access to any devices like this. Also, with the recent publishing of this document, I'm glad to see we finally have an explicit statement of the exact DPI ranges of the three density categories. But why haven't we been given the same for the small, medium, and large screen size categories? I'd like to know the exact ranges for all these. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi, I'm trying to check whether val() has a specific value or not inside a form, if so deleting the contents / preventing the form being submitted depending on if both fields are filled in (stringOne and stringTwo). There's a default text for each input field, the first being "Namn, telefonnr, sökord" and the second "Område, plats, ort". If a user only fills in the first field the second must be cleared before the form string is passed on and vice versa.     Hi, I am writing the following in PHP: i would like to have 2 dropdownlists, where the second one is populated from a mySQL dB according to the choice made on the first dropdown list. Then I would like to use the values of the selected values of the dropdownlist to call another PHP page in which I will generate a db query. Eg: List A: Car Manufactures (honda, nissan, etc) List B: Models (accord, civic, etc) Then I will have a submit button, to POST the values in another PHP file? (I have the basics of how to perform the above without having a dynamic list, but I tried this with AJAX, but I am having problems to pass the value of the second dropdownlist) Any tips of how I can perform the above?

    Hello I am using ibatis and C#. i get a result from a select query that has CreatedDate as one of the field. The Datatype of CreatedDate in Mysql is Date. I assign the result set of the select query to a Ilist< DeliveryClass **. Here the DeliveryClass CreatedDate as DateTime. When i run the application, i get **Unable to convert MySQL date/time value to System.DateTime. What could be the problem?

  • Multiple inequality conditions (range queries) in NoSQL

    Hi, I have an application where I'd like to use a NoSQL database, but I still want to do range queries over two different properties, for example select all entries between times T1 and T2 where the noiselevel is smaller than X. On the other hand, I would like to use a NoSQL/Key-Value store because my data is very sparse and diverse, and I do not want to create new tables for every new datatype that I might come across. I know that you cannot use multiple inequality filters for the Google Datastore (source). I also know that this feature is coming (according to this). I know that this is also not possible in CouchDB (source). I think I also more or less understand why this is the case. Now, this makes me wonder.. Is that the case with all NoSQL databases? Can other NoSQL systems make range queries over two different properties? How about, for example, Mongo DB? I've looked in the Documentation, but the only thing I've found was the following snippet in their docu: Note that any of the operators on this page can be combined in the same query document. For example, to find all document where j is not equal to 3 and k is greater than 10, you'd query like so: db.things.find({j: {$ne: 3}, k: {$gt: 10} }); So they use greater-than and not-equal on two different properties. They don't say anything about two inequalities ;-) Any input and enlightenment is welcome :-)

It is possible that some of the delay is being caused because all the possible fields have not yet been indexed. The tag field of tags table is indexed. Is there something faulty with the query? What can be the reason behind 20+ seconds of execution time? How tags work in this system? When a tutor registers, tags are entered and tag relations are created with respect to tutor's details like name, surname etc. When a Tutors create packs, again tags are entered and tag relations are created with respect to pack's details like pack name, description etc. tag relations for tutors stored in tutors_tag_relations and those for packs stored in learning_packs_tag_relations.     I have two tables, table1 and table2. Table1 is in a one to many relationship with table2 (one row in table1 maps to many rows in table2). There is a field in table2 called code. If none of the values of code in table2 equal some set of values (say 1, 2, and 3), I want to select the value in table1. I'm not sure how to write this kind of join. Assume the primary key in table1 is called id and the foreign key to which it maps is called did. Can you tell me how to write this kind of join? Thanks, Elliott

As I, currently, understand, Google Chrome puts bookmarks seperatly from Google Bookmarks, which is accessible in Firefox by using Google Toolbar for Firefox. Right?     Hi I have a project where I need to store a large number of values. The data is a dataset holding 1024 2Byte Unsigned integer values. Now I store one value at one row together with a timestamp and a unik ID. This data is continously stored based on a time trigger. What I would like to do, is store all 1024 values in one field. So would it be possible to do some routine that stores all the 1024 2byte integer values in one field as binary. Maybe a blobfield. Thanks. Br. Enghoej

    when doing simple query on 4 inner joined tables, the server crashes with the output below appearing in the the mysql .err file. eg. select * from table1 inner join table2 on table1.a = table2.a and table1.b = table2.b inner join table3 on table2.a = table3.a and table2.c = table3.c inner join table4 on table3.a = table4.a and table3.d = table4.d If i remove one of the tables it executes fine. Likewise if I remove a different table, it executes fine. Though all tables have been checked anyway, this would suggest that it is not a problem specifically with one of the tables. mysql.err trace: 100503 18:13:19 - mysqld got signal 11 ; This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built, or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware. We will try our best to scrape up some info that will hopefully help diagnose the problem, but since we have already crashed, something is definitely wrong and this may fail. key_buffer_size=1572864000 read_buffer_size=2097152 max_used_connections=11 max_threads=151 threads_connected=10 It is possible that mysqld could use up to key_buffer_size + (read_buffer_size + sort_buffer_size)*max_threads = 2155437 K bytes of memory Hope that's ok; if not, decrease some variables in the equation. thd: 0x72febda8 Attempting backtrace.   • Running rspec against multiple targets

    I've written an rspec test using Watir against a web application and it's running fine. However, I now want to be able to run this test against the web application running on different domain names. My initial thought was that I'd be able to pass a value to spec at the command line to set a variable within my script, but I can't see any easy method of doing this. So my second thought was that I might need to add an array of domains into my script and have it test all of them - but I don't always want to test every domain, and the domains are constantly changing as we add and remove sites to be tested. What are my options for allowing the choice of targets I want?

    Dear all, I would like to do a simple sum per salesid in php - mysql after cross calculation between date (2 table) to get the real time commission, all the value already come out correctly but I got problem with final sum per sales id. salesid-commission aa0001 - 1000 bb0001 - 500 aa0001 - 200 bb0001 - 50 I already try with few sample in this web but still cannot meet the correct result. I cannot do the sum in mysql because of some reason (need calculation with other table) the result will be: aa0001 - 1200 bb0001 - 550 I aprreciated for any help to complated the test.
