• 10035 error on a blocking socket

  Does anyone have any idea what could cause a 10035 error (EWOULDBLOCK) when reading on a blocking socket with a timeout? This is under Windows XP using the .NET framework version 3.5 socket library. I've never managed to get this myself, but one of my colleagues is getting it all the time. He's sending reasonably large amounts of data to a much slower device and then waiting for a response, which often gives a 10035 error. I'm wondering if there could be issues with TCP buffers filling up, but in that case I would expect the read to wait or timeount. The socket is definitely blocking, not non-blocking.

  I added the EXSLT dates-and-times module in my XSLT 1.0 file by declaring: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" ... xmlns:date="http://exslt.org/dates-and-times" extension-element-prefixes="date"> This doesn't affect my resulting page, but when I try to call the actual date with: <xsl:value-of select="date:date-time()"/> I receive an "Error loading stylesheet: An unknown error has occurred ()" message when loading my page.   I am trying to load a fixture for my tests which has a password column (binary datatype). The tool i am using uses EzCrypto gem for encrypting and decrypting passwords before they are stored/retrieved.   I have two classes, a base class and a child class. In the base class i define a generic virtual method: protected virtual Bar Foo<T() where T : Bar {} Then in my child class i try to do this: protected override BarChild Foo() // BarChild inherits Bar { return base.Bar<T as BarChild() } Visual studio gives this weird error: The type 'T' cannot be used as type parameter 'T' in the generic type or method 'Foo()'. There is no boxing conversion or type parameter conversion from 'T' to 'Bar'. Repeating the where clause on the child's override also gives an error: Constraints for override and explicit interface implementation methods are inherited from the base method, so they cannot be specified directly So what am i doing wrong here?

  invalid token error while parsing an XML file with UTF-8 encoding. This error is coming when it encountered extended ASCII character 'â' { "â", "â" }. When I have changed the encoding from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1 the parsing is successful. But my application should support UTF-8, ASCII and extended ASCII characters. What should I do for this?   We have a Spring MVC web app (WAR) deploying to Tomcat (6.0.35) that launches a thread inside a separate JVM at deploy time (don't ask why - not my design) and then communicates with that thread via RMI over port 8888. Despite being totally convoluded, this was working perfectly fine up until yesterday, and now the thread is failing at startup and despite our best efforts to add logging into the mix, we are hitting a wall.   In my en.yml translation file, I have: activerecord: errors: template: header: one: "1 error prohibited this {{model}} from being saved" other: "{{count}} errors prohibited this {{model}} from being saved" When an activerecord/validation error occurs during logging into my application, the error message: "1 error prohibited this user session from being saved" is displayed (where user_session is the model being used). I'd rather have it say something like "An error has occured to prevent you from logging into your account". How do I override the generic error message with my specific one?

  We are using Rails 2.3.5 and have been experiencing seemingly random Timeout::Error: execution expired errors. The errors reported by Hoptoad are not consistently in any particular controller and show up everywhere from user sessions to account settings to some of our core functionality controllers. The vast majority of requests do not Timeout but there are enough to cause concern. Is this normal? If so, what are some things to look at to decrease the occurance? If not, has anyone run into this and what are some common problems that can trigger an error like this.

• iPhone In-App Purchase Store Kit error -1003 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"

  Hi all- I've been working on adding in-app purchases and was able to create and test in-app purchases using Store Kit (yay!). During testing, I exercised my app in a way which caused the app to crash mid purchase (so I guess the normal cycle of receiving paymentQueue:updatedTransactions and calling finishTransaction was interrupted). Now I am unable to successfully complete any transactions and instead am getting only transactions with transactionState SKPaymentTransactionStateFailed when paymentQueue:updatedTransactions is called. The transaction.error.code is -1003 and the transaction.error.localizedDescription is "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"! I have tried removing all products from iTunesConnect, and rebuilt them using different identifiers but that did not help. I have also tried using the App Store app to really connect to the real App Store and download some apps so I do have connectivity. Finally, I have visited the Settings:Store app to make sure I am signed out of my normal app store account. Any ideas? -Rei

I have the following files referenced in the head section. jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css jquery-1.3.2.min.js jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js Theme:smoothness UI Version: 1.7.2 for jQuery 1.3.2 I have nothing else going on in the page but still get the error 'error updating JScript Intellisense. If the type is a collection, consider marking it with the CollectionDataContractAttribute. If I add the DataContract / DataMember attributes to the class and its appropriate members on the server-side, I receive an error that says: Type cannot be ISerializable and have DataContractAttribute attribute. How do I serialize MyException so that I can pass an instance of it to my WCF service. Please note, I want to use my service from an Android app. Because of this, I don't want to do anything too Microsoft centric. That was my fear with DataContract / DataMember stuff. I have included those two project in the first project solution, and set the dependencies correctly. • What CPAN module can summarize error logs?

  I'm maintaining some website code that will soon dump all its errors and warnings into a log file. In order to make this a bit more pro-active i plan to parse this log file daily, summarize the warnings and errors (i.e. count the occurrence of each specific one and group by either warning/error) and then email this to the devs on the project. This would likely admittedly be rather trivial with a hash and some further fiddling, I wondered if there is a suitable module on CPAN that i could use to do this task. It would either be one that summarizes specifically perl error/warnings logs or one that summarizes arbitrary text files. Any suggestions?

  I am trying to run 'make' on a module in User Mode Linux to install a simple makefile. Here is my make file: obj-m := hello.o KDIR := /lib/modules/$(shell uname -r)/build PWD := $(shell pwd) default: $(MAKE) -C $(KDIR) SUBDIRS=$(PWD) modules When I run this in User Mode Linux I get the following error: make[1]: Entering directory /lib/modules/2.6.28/build' make[1]: *** No rule to make targetmodules'. Stop. make[1]: Leaving directory `/lib/modules/2.6.28/build' make: * [default] Error 2 The problem is that no files are present under /lib/modules/. There's no directory for 2.6.28 or build. From what I've read, these should be symlinks to /usr/src, but under /usr/src, I don't see any files under that either.
