We want our own CSS to apply to this HTML. But as it replace whole HTML and it have its own CSS we are unable to set our CSS. We are doing this in GWT. Is there any way we can get the list of fans so we can display it as we want and can apply css? Or check given user is fan of page?

    Hey Everyone, I was wondering if anyone could look over a class I wrote, I am receiving generic warnings in Eclipse and I am just wondering if it could be cleaned up at all. All of the warnings I received are surrounded in ** in my code below. The class takes a list of strings in the form of (hh:mm AM/PM) and converts them into HourMinute objects in order to find the first time in the list that comes after the current time. I am also curious about if there are more efficient ways to do this.   • Is JavaEE really portable?

    I'm just implementing a JavaEE assignment I was given on an interview. I have some prior experience with EJB, but nothing related to JMS and MDBs. So here's what I find through the numerous examples: application servers bind their topics and queues to different JNDI names - for example topic/queue, jms the activationConfig property is required on JBoss, while in the Sun tutorial it is not. after starting my application, jboss warns me that my topic isn't bound (it isn't actually - I haven't bound it, but I expect it to be bound automatically - in fact, in an example for JBoss 4.0 automatic binding does seem to happen). A suggested solution is to map it in some jboss files or even use jboss-specific annotations. This might be just JBoss, but since it is certified to implement to spec, it appears the spec doesn't specify these these things. And there all the alleged portability vanishes. So I wonder - how come it is claimed that JavaEE is portable and you can take an ear and deploy it on another application server and it magically runs, if such extremely basic things don't appear to be portable at all. P.S. sorry for the rant, but I'm assume I might be doing/getting something wrong, so state your opinions.

  • Google Maps 3.0 - Sometimes after removing markers, they stay around...

    Sometimes when I remove markers they stay around in a "ghost" fashion -- they are clickable but there's no more icon. This is not every time and usually only happens when I remove more than one at a time. Here's my code for removing markers: for(var i in markers) { google.maps.event.clearListeners(markers[i], "click"); markers[i].setMap(null); markers[i] = null; delete markers[i]; } The only way to guarantee that they get removed 100% of the time is to move the map to another position. Then when I move it back they are gone 100% of the time. Thanks for your help.

  • Why are Managed Beans not loaded in Tomcat?

    Hi, I created a JSF 2 web application with facelets. The libs for JSF where stored at tomcat/lib, to share it between several applications. I thought maybe it would be better to store the libs inside the WEB-INF/lib folder of the application, to get the application more independent from server configurations. Now when I start tomcat via eclipse, the managed beans are loaded and working. But when I start tomcat directly / standalone the managed beans are not loaded automatically. I used @ManagedBean @SessionScoped / @RequestScoped annotations to declare classes as managed beans. Why is this? What can I do to fix it? I don't use any faces-config.xml file yet.     Hello, I have a set of Books objects, classs Book is defined as following : Class Book{ String title; ArrayList<tags> taglist; } Where title is the title of the book, example : Javascript for dummies. and taglist is a list of tags for our example : Javascript, jquery, "web dev", .. As I said a have a set of books talking about different things : IT, BIOLOGY, HISTORY, ... Each book has a title and a set of tags describing it.. I have to classify automaticaly those books into separated sets by topic, example : IT BOOKS : Java for dummies Javascript for dummies Learn flash in 30 days C++ programming HISTORY BOOKS : World wars America in 1960 Martin luther king's life BIOLOGY BOOKS : .... Do you guys know a classification algorithm/method to apply for that kind of problems ?   • Google SpreadSheets - When using a time trigger in code, some cells getting '#N/A' value

    I've created a Google spreadsheet with imported data on one cell, extracting specific string to another cell and pasting the data in a table with a trigger for every 2 hours. Now everything works perfectly when running the script manually but when logged out and waiting for the cells to fill, sometimes the pasted cell getting "#N/A" value.   • Manage multiple UDP calls

    Hi all, I would like to have an advice for this issue: I am using Jbos 5.1.0, EJB3.0 I have system, which sending requests via UDP'S to remote modems, and suppose to wait for an answer from the target modem. the remote modems support only UDP calls, therefor I o design asynchronous mechanism. (also coz I want to request X modems parallel) this is what I try to do: all calls are retrieved from Data Base, then each call will be added as a message to JMS QUE. let's say i will set X MDB'S on that que, so I can work asynchronous. now each MDB will send UDP request to the IP-address(remote modem) which will be parsed from the que message. so basicly each MDB, which takes a message is sending a udp request to the remote modem and [b]waiting [/b]for an answer from that modem. [u]now here is the BUG:[/u] could happen a scenario where MDB will get an answer, but not from the right modem( which it requested in first place). that bad scenario cause two wrong things: a. the sender which sent the message will wait forever since the message never returned to him(it got accepted by another MDB). b. the MDB which received the message is not the right one, and probablly if it was on a "listener" mode, then it supposed to wait for an answer from diffrent sender.(else it wouldnt get any messages) so ofcourse I can handle everything with a RETRY mechanisem. so both mdb's(the one who got message from the wrong sender, and the one who never got the answer) will try again, to do thire operation with a hope that next time it will success. This is the mechanism, mybe you could tell me if there is any design pattren, or any other effective solution for this problem? Thanks, ray.

    Python has a very handy package that can parse nearly any unambiguous date and provides helpful error messages on a parse failure, python-dateutil. Comparison to the SimpleDateFormat class is not favorable - AFAICT SimpleDateFormat can only handle one exact date format and the error messages have no granularity. I've looked through the Joda API but it appears Joda is the same way - only one explicit format can be parsed at a time. Is there any package or library that reproduces the python-dateutil behavior? Or am I missing something WRT Joda/SimpleDateFormat?

    I'm having conflicting reports for our users that people that share Object Graph objects to their wall, are sometimes showing the Object title and other times not. Specifically, every test I do on my own account shows the Object Title, but on their Mobile apps - it doesn't appear. I've tested the Open Graph debugger.So I have a couple of questions: Is there a length limit on the number of characters? Does Facebook not show the whole Object.title on Mobile? Does Facebook scrap the OG tags and if it can't find them or if it timeout do they not receive them?   • Career Choice in JEE, are EJBs standard?

    I have chosen to go the JEE route for a career path but I have been having a hard time determining which core technologies that I need to be most familiar with. I'm at the point I can write web apps without a problem with JSP's and regular servlets using JDBC or some basic Hibernate stuff (I know, HTML, CSS and have used MVC extensively on a number of different platforms). What I'm trying to find out is if there is some standard as far as J2EE technologies go. When I look at most of the Job listings, occasionally you will see someone mention Struts or Spring but rarely do I see any mention of EJB's. So my question is really, are EJB's basically required by most JEE employers? Or are most of them working with POJO's? Is it a mix? I have a hard time figuring out if I should put the majority of my time into Struts, Spring/Hibernate, EJB's, etc. And if I do need to master EJB's what version should I learn? 2.1 or 3.0. 3.0 has some obviously better features but I figure a lot of companies probably chose to write their apps in 2.1 just because it was the standard of the time and now migrating would be a big deal. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated.

    I am looking for a Java-based numerical method package that provides functionality including: Solving systems of equations using different numerical analysis algorithms. Matrix methods (e.g., inversion). Spline approximations. Probability distributions and statistical methods. In this case, "best" is defined as a package with a mature and usable API, solid performance and numerical accuracy. Edit: derick van brought up a good point in that cost is a factor. I am heavily biased in favor of free packages but others may have a different emphasis.

I tried to get more information from the jfreechar forums and found this post. According to the post , its not supported by JfreeChart. Is it still not supported by jfreechart API ? If yes, can I use any other charting (open source) tool to generate chart with data table ? Thanks

  • JTA or LOCAL transactions in JPA2+Hibernate 3.6.0?

    We are in the process of re-thinking our tech stack and below are our choices (We can't live without Spring and Hibernate due to the complexity etc of the app). We are also moving from J2EE 1.4 to JEE 5. Tech stack JEE 5 JPA 2.0 (I know JEE 5 only supports JPA 1.0 but we want to use Hibernate as the JPA provider) Hibernate 3.6.0 (We already have lots of hbm files with custom types etc. so we doesn't want to migrate them at this time to JPA. This means we want both jpa/hbm mappings work together and hence the Hibernate as the JPA provider instead of using the default that comes with App Server) Now the problems is that I want to stick with local transactions but other team members want to use JTA. I have been working with J2EE for last 9 years and I've heard time and again people suggesting to stick with local transactions if I doesn't need two phase commits. This is not only for performance reasons but debugging/troubleshooting a local transaction is lot easier than a distributed transaction. My suggestion is to use spring declarative transaction management + local transactions (HibernateTransactionManager) I want to make sure if I am being paranoid or I have a valid point. I'd like to hear what the rest of the JEE world thinks. Thank you.
