    I am using GUI2Exe to compile my python/pygame, game to a .exe I have a problem with the font module. using python 2.7 and the py2exe option in GUI2Exe I have updated python, pygame and py2exe with the 2.7 versions. My program runs fine but after I compile it with py2exe I get this. Here is the error I get: Fatal Python error: (pygame parachute) Segmentation Fault This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. My game starts off as a console and that part runs. But as soon as the display starts I get the crash. Thanks

  • Ubuntu 12.04 OpenCL with Intel and Radeon?

    I want to setup my Ubuntu 12.04 with OpenCL(Open Computing Language) support for i7 2600k and Radeon HD5870. My Monitor is connected to the integrated Graphics of the i7. Intel OpenCL SDK is installed and working. Iteration of avaliable OpenCL devices shows 2 entries for Intel. As recommended I installed AMD APP SDK 2.6 first and then the fglrx driver. I installed fglrx from Ubuntu repositories. This works fine till here. When I run aticonfig --inital -f and restart the system I get into trouble.     All operating system I use apart form Windows have a “Open with…” options for there Explorer, Finder, whatever. This is very useful as often more then one program can handle a given file extension. With the exception on zip file I generally have not seen such a function on Window. However since there is an exceptions it is possible. The questions I have is: How can a “Open with…” can be archived with windows? Is there perhaps a tool which can do it?

  • Disabling kextcache on 10.5.8 and 10.6.3

    We use Radmind to manage our Mac OS X loadsets and, as such, often run into difficulty when new OS releases come out due to, among other things, updated kernel extensions. The workflow in the past (OS revisions <= 10.4) was to delete the kernel extension cache, update the extensions, and then reboot. That worked just fine, as the system would re-create missing caches on boot. In Leopard, you need to delete the caches after replacing the kernel extensions with their new versions, as the system will automatically start creating them when you replace them; the only way to ensure that you don't have invalid extensions cached is to delete the cache before rebooting. I'm looking for a way to prevent the kernel extensions cache from being re-created until the next reboot. If you modify the contents of /System/Library/Extensions/, kextcache will start up automatically. I've looked through /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ and other places, but I can't find whatever it is that's starting kextcache. Any ideas?

    Hiya. I'm installing VoodooHDA extension in order for Intel 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio 8086:293E sound card to operate. The sound card does not work but i have no idea how to debug the issue. How can I check if the module was loaded properly? how can i make sure that there where no conflicts? how can i make sure that there were no dependencies issues with another module?     Hello Everyone, I'd like to compile a list of best practices for getting the most out of a single charge of a typical notebook battery (be it Li-Ion or Li-Poly). Sources would be great as well. I've heard, for instance, that the best things to do to improve battery performance (not the total lifetime of the battery, just single charge performance) are, in descending order of effectiveness: Turn your display all the way down. Turn off WiFi Turn off Bluetooth Spin down disks when they're not in use. etc… I'd like to get sources together for these and other tips for extending life-between-charge for any battery on any notebook (as these really are all about Demand Management rather than Life lime extension.   • Why does Python's 'for ... in' work differently on a list of values vs. a list of dictionaries?

    I'm wondering about some details of how for ... in works in Python. My understanding is for var in iterable on each iteration creates a variable, var, bound to the current value of iterable. So, if you do for c in cows; c = cows[whatever], but changing c within the loop does not affect the original value. However, it seems to work differently if you're assigning a value to a dictionary key. cows=[0,1,2,3,4,5] for c in cows: c+=2 #cows is now the same - [0,1,2,3,4,5] cows=[{'cow':0},{'cow':1},{'cow':2},{'cow':3},{'cow':4},{'cow':5}] for c in cows: c['cow']+=2 # cows is now [{'cow': 2}, {'cow': 3}, {'cow': 4}, {'cow': 5}, {'cow': 6}, {'cow': 7} #so, it's changed the original, unlike the previous example I see one can use enumerate to make the first example work, too, but that's a different story, I guess. cows=[0,1,2,3,4,5] for i,c in enumerate(cows): cows[i]+=1 # cows is now [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] Why does it affect the original list values in the second example but not the first?

I have already written the javascript for the firefox extension, now I need to make it into an XPCOM component. I can't really rename the file all the time because a third party application uses it as its file format. Does anyone know a way to read a dbase file without a standard extension in C#. Thanks.

    I've written a program that edits a specific filetype , and I want to give the user the option to set my application as the default editor for this filetype (since I don't want an installer) on startup.     Note: this is about Firefox extension, not a js general question. In Firefox extension project I need my javascript object to be initialized just once per Firefox window. Otherwise each time I open my window a new timers will be engaged, new properties will be used, so everything will start from scratch. hope example below will demystify my question :) var StupidExtension { statusBarValue: "Not Initialized Yet", startup: function () { ... // Show statusBarValue in Status Bar Panel }, initTimerToRetrieveStatusBarValueFromNetwork: function () { ... } } so each time you hit Ctrl+N a new window you will see "Not Initialized Yet" and then new timer will be fired, so after some time it retrieve data from network you will see value also on second window and so on. Ideally would be to have just a single timer function running and updating all status bar panels in all Firefox windows. Of course I can do some caching, like saving the value in prefs or some other storage, then show it from there. But I feel like this is artificial. So the question will be is there "native" technique of making static some parts of the object among all Firefox window instances?

  • pgsql.so is not loaded in PHP

    Hi, I've been tasked to create a PHP app which accesses an existing PostgreSQL database. This is my first time working with Postgre, not to mention the PHP has already been installed in the Linux box on which the app is supposed to run. I have no experience setting up this stuff, I just code. My question is that I can't seem to get the Postgre extension working in PHP. I checked the php.ini file, there were no "extension=..." lines. So I added "extension=pgsql.so". I then checked the "extension_dir" and found that there were only 2 files in there (ldap.so, phpcups.so), I added a pgsql.so file taken from another Linux box. I restarted httpd. And it does not work. I couldn't find any "pgsql" or "postgre" in phpinfo(). Forgive my noobness. I know too little Linux. I would really appreciate it if you can point me to the right direction.

  • Editting CSS in iframe that sets Select tag's text color to black?

    This is a very specific question for a Google Chrome extension. http://www.meebo.com/mobile/ This page is where you're kicked to when you go to Meebo.com on an iPhone or Droid phone. But if you notice, the Status box where you can set yourself away or what you want your status to be has white text on a white background. In order to get a website to appear in a Google Chrome extension's popup window (the one that drops down when you click the icon next to the address bar) that isn't an included html file in the extension, I need to use an iFrame. I know that there's security measures about Cross-Site stuff like javascript and I'm not surprised I'm having trouble accessing the CSS. But there's a class, status, and it's color is white and I need to change that to black. I've tested it with Chrome's Inspect Element window and if I change that, I'll be fine. I've tried changing the manifest.json file to inject a CSS file using Content-Scripts, but nothing... I'm new to Chrome Extensions but I have experience doing web development.

    I'm trying to perform what I understand to be a relatively simple task. I'd like to remove the extensions from the URLs on my website. I have the proper set up in my application to handle and rewrite the URLs - the trouble is I can't get past IIS to actually get to my application without the extensions. The details: I'm running IIS6 on Windows Server 2003. I've gone into the web site for my application, gone to the home directory tab, clicked "Configuration" and added a wildcard map to the following file: c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll Which I verified is the same as what is used above in the application extensions portion by .ascx, etc. If I navigate to http://mywebsite.com/Blogs the result is as follows: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Content-Length: 1635 Content-Type: text/html Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By: ASP.NET Date: Thu, 14 Jan 2010 15:04:49 GMT Which seems to be a standard IIS 404 message. If I navigate to http://mywebsite.com/Blogs.aspx I get my ASP.NET app.... How can I troubleshoot this? I feel like I've double checked everything a dozen times but to no avail. I must be missing something obvious. Update: Here are the exact instructions given by the asp.net url rewriter that I'm using: IIS 6.0 - Windows 2003 Server open property page for website / virtual directory. click the 'home directory' tab click the 'configuration' button, select the 'mappings' tab click 'insert' next to the 'Wildcard application maps' section browse to the aspnet_isapi.dll (normally at c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll) Ensure that 'check that file exists' is unchecked Click OK, OK, OK to close and apply changes Update 2: I have yet to find a resolution for this. The application does not seem to be receiving the request from IIS, any further ideas?

  • Getting a list of patches in an HPSA patch policy

    I'm trying to get a list of patches contained in a Patch Policy in HPSA -- I can get what I need via the Twister web interface (under PatchPolicy.getPatches(), give it an ID, and it happily returns a list of patches contained.) -- I'm having a hard time getting this to work via the Pytwist interface, though... I haven't used the Pytwist interface for much besides some very basic Device manipulation, and Python is.. not my forte. I create the TwistServer object, then a PatchPolicy object from that (which I think is working..), but can't figure out how/where to call the getPatches() method from in Python-land. If there's a way to dig this out of the database itself, that would work, too, but I can't seem to find much in there along these lines besides the vendor-recommended patching stuff, and we use custom policies.
