  • Casting complex class into a dataset?

    - by iTayb
    This is the class I'm trying to turn into a dataset: public class BookStore { private List<Book> booksList; } public class Book { private string name; private string imageurl; private string subject; private string author; private int level; private int year; private int rating; private List<string> booksellers; private List<decimal> bookprices; } There are proprieties, of course. How can I turn it into a dataset? Thank you very much.

  • Java generics: actual class as a generic parameter.

    - by user554916
    What do I write instead of "TheClass" to make this work? Or is there an alternative way to do it (possibly without making WithName and WithAge generic)? class Item { NeigborList<TheClass> neighbors; } class WithName extends Item { // here I want neighbors to be a NeighborList<WithName> String name; void someMethod() { System.out.println(neighbors.nearestTo(this).name); } } class WithAge extends Item { // here I want neighbors to be a NeighborList<WithAge> int age; void someOtherMethod() { System.out.println(neighbors.nearestTo(this).age); } }

  • allignment issue of div tag

    - by Quasar the space thing
    I am trying to create a web page where on click of a button I can add div tags. What I thought to do was that I'll create two div tags within a single div so that over all presentation will be uniform and similar to a table having two columns and multiple rows and the first column contains only label's and second column will contain textbox. Here is the JS file : var counter = 0; function create_div(type){ var dynDiv = document.createElement("div"); dynDiv.id = "divid_"+counter; dynDiv.class="main"; document.body.appendChild(dynDiv); question(); if(type == 'ADDTEXTBOX'){ ADDTEXTBOX(); } counter=counter+1; } function question(){ var question_div = document.createElement("div"); question_div.class="question"; question_div.id = "question_div_"+counter; var Question = prompt("Enter The Question here:", ""); var node=document.createTextNode(Question); question_div.appendChild(node); var element=document.getElementById("divid_"+counter); element.appendChild(question_div); } function ADDTEXTBOX(){ var answer_div = document.createElement("div"); answer_div.class="answer"; answer_div.id = "answer_div_"+counter; var answer_tag = document.createElement("input"); answer_tag.id = "answer_tag_"+counter; answer_tag.setAttribute("type", "text"); answer_tag.setAttribute("name", "textbox"); answer_div.appendChild(answer_tag); var element=document.getElementById("divid_"+counter); element.appendChild(answer_div); } Here is the css file : .question { width: 40%; height: auto; float: left; display: inline-block; text-align: justify; word-wrap:break-word; } .answer { padding-left:10%; width: 40%; height: auto; float: left; overflow: auto; word-wrap:break-word; } .main { width: auto; background-color:gray; height: auto; overflow: auto; word-wrap:break-word; } My problem is that the code is working properly but both the divisions are not coming in a straight line. after the first div prints on the screen the second divisions comes in another line. How can I make both the div's come in the same line ? Thank You. PS : should I stick with the current idea of using div or should I try some other approach ? like tables ?

  • Background is flashing upon load momentarily

    - by goongagaloonga22
    I have a div (.header) contained within other divs. When my page loads, momentarily just that one .header div "flashes" white as the page is loading, especially in in Firefox, but a little bit in IE8 too. I can't find what kind of CSS or lack thereof is causing this - there's no images or background color associated with that div. There is a logo.png within the .header. Thoughts? http://dev.bwmsnow.co.nz/

  • Constructors in Inner classes (implementing Interfaces)

    - by thepandaatemyface
    Hi, How would I go about writing a constructor for an inner class which is implementing an interface? I know I could make a whole new class, but I figure there's got to be a way to do something along the line of this: JButton b = new JButton(new AbstractAction() { public AbstractAction() { super("This is a button"); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { System.out.println("button clicked"); } }); When I enter this it doesn't recognize the AbstractAction method as a constructor (compiler asks for return type). Anyone have an idea? Thanks

  • Div not expanding even with content inside

    - by Aiden Ryan
    I have a stack of divs inside of each other, all of which have an ID which specifies CSS only. But for some reason the surrounding DIV tag only expands to it's anointed height value, and not it's default auto, meaning that although the content is inside, the backing DIV is only a specific height. I need it to adjust the heigh to the size of whatever is inside of it (As there will be user submitted data being echoed out possibly in paragraphs with 500+ words.) Here is my HTML <div id="albumhold"> <div id="albumpic">Pic here</div> <div id="infohold"> <div id="albumhead">Name | Date</div> <div id="albuminfo">Information</div> </div> And the CSS for the HTML code: #albumhold { width: 920px; padding: 10px; height: auto; border: 1px solid #E1E1E1; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: #E1E1E1; background-image: url(../global-images/albumback.png); background-position: top center; background-repeat: repeat-x; } #albumpic { display: block; height: 110px; width: 110px; float: left; border: 1px solid #000; } #infohold { width: 800px; background-color: #CCC; float: right; height: 20px; } #albumhead { width: 800px; height: 20px; text-indent: 10px; border: 1px solid #000; color: #09F; } #albuminfo { margin-top: 5px; width: 800px; float: right; color: #09F; word-wrap:break-word; } Help is greatly appreciated.

  • Getting Reference to Calling Activity from AsyncTask (NOT as an inner class)

    - by stormin986
    Is it at all possible, from within an AsyncTask that is NOT an inner class of the calling Activity class, to get a reference to the instance of Activity that initiated execution of the AsyncTask? I am aware of this thread, however it doesn't exactly address how to reference the calling Activity. Some suggest passing a reference to the Activity as a parameter to the AsyncTask constructor, however, it's reported that doing so will always result in a NullPointerException. So, I'm at a loss. My AsyncTask provides robust functionality, and I don't want to have to duplicate it as an inner class in every Activity that wants to use it. There must be an elegant solution.

  • C++ difference of keywords 'typename' and 'class' in templates

    - by Mat
    For templates I have seen both declarations: template < typename T > And: template < class T > What's the difference? And what exactly do those keywords mean in the following example (taken from the German Wikipedia article about templates)? template < template < typename, typename > class Container, typename Type > class Example { Container< Type, std::allocator < Type > > baz; };

  • How do I make image hyperlinks have a background image?

    - by Richard

Actually all links to images, ie .gif .png as well with the same icon. If the link is to a website, ie .htm/.php/.html/.asp it should have a different image. I want it to be through classes in CSS. • C++ destructor issue with std::vector of class objects

    - by Nigel
    I am confused about how to use destructors when I have a std::vector of my class. So if I create a simple class as follows: class Test { private: int *big; public: Test () { big = new int[10000]; } ~Test () { delete [] big; } }; Then in my main function I do the following: Test tObj = Test(); vector<Test> tVec; tVec.push_back(tObj); I get a runtime crash in the destructor of Test when I go out of scope. Why is this and how can I safely free my memory?

  • The second floating div in chrome clears down before first div.

    - by Jesse
    Two divs are next to eachother, both floating left within a wrapper. In IE and firefox they appear correctly, but in Chrome, the 2nd floating div clears down below Div A. When I remove "float:left" in the css, it goes to the correct position in Chrome, but clears down in IE and firefox (as it should). I dont know why it is appearing this way in Chrome. Any ideas?

  • Reflection alternative for switch on enum in order to select namespace/class

    - by Am
    Hi, I have an interface named IHarvester. There are 3 implementations of that interface, each under their own namespace: Google Yahoo Bing A HarvesterManager uses the given harvester. It knows the interface and all 3 implementations. I want some way of letting the class user say in which harvester it wants to use. And in the code select that implementation, without a switch-case implementation. Can reflection save my day? Here is the code bits: // repeat for each harvester namespace Harvester.Google { public abstract class Fetcher : BaseHarvester, IInfoHarvester {...} } public enum HarvestingSource { Google, Yahoo, Bing, } class HarvesterManager { public HarvestingSource PreferedSource {get;set;} public HarvestSomthing() { switch (PreferedSource) .... // awful... } } Thanks. I will give my 2 cents of why I want to change this. There several people writing harvesters, I want them to focus only on building more harvesters, without ever needing to update the enum, or at worst, update only the enum.
