  • Scala: XML Attribute parsing

    - by Chris
    I'm trying to parse a rss feed that looks like this for the attribute "date": <rss version="2.0"> <channel> <item> <y:c date="AA"></y:c> </item> </channel> </rss> I tried several different versions of this: (rssFeed contains the RSS data) println(((rssFeed \\ "channel" \\ "item" \ "y:c" \"date").toString)) But nothing seems to work. What am I missing? Any help would really be appreciated!

  • LINQ to XML: suppressing redundant namespace attribute in child nodes

    - by GSerg
    If a node belongs to a namespace, it's children by default belong to the same namespace. So there's no need to provide an xmlns attribute on each child, which is good. However. If I create two nodes like this: Dim parent = <parent xmlns="http://my.namespace.org"/> Dim child = <child xmlns="http://my.namespace.org">value</child> parent.Add(child) Console.WriteLine(parent.ToString) The result is this: <parent xmlns="http://my.namespace.org"> <child xmlns="http://my.namespace.org">value</child> </parent> But, if create them in a less convenient way: Dim parent = <parent xmlns="http://my.namespace.org"/> Dim child As New XElement(XName.Get("child", "http://my.namespace.org")) With {.Value = "value"} parent.Add(child) Console.WriteLine(parent.ToString) The result is more desirable: <parent xmlns="http://my.namespace.org"> <child>value</child> </parent> Obviously, I'd prefer to use the first way because it is so much more intuitive and easy to code. There's also another reason to not use method 2 -- sometimes I need to create nodes with XElement.Parse, parsing a string that contains an xmlns attribute, which produces exactly same results as method 1. So the question is -- how do I get the pretty output of method 2, creating nodes as in method 1? The only option I see is to create a method that would clone given XElement, effectively recreating it according to method 2 pattern, but that seems ugly. I'm looking for a more obvious solution I overlooked for some reason.

  • PHP resizing PNGs results in corrupted files

    - by Robert
    I have a PHP script that resizes .jpg, .gif, and .png files to a bounding box. $max_width = 500; $max_height = 600; $filetype = $_FILES["file"]["type"]; $source_pic = "img/" . $idnum; if($filetype == "image/jpeg") { $src = imagecreatefromjpeg($source_pic); } else if($filetype == "image/png") { $src = imagecreatefrompng($source_pic); } else if($filetype == "image/gif") { $src = imagecreatefromgif($source_pic); } list($width,$height)=getimagesize($source_pic); $x_ratio = $max_width / $width; $y_ratio = $max_height / $height; if( ($width <= $max_width) && ($height <= $max_height) ) { $tn_width = $width; $tn_height = $height; } else if (($x_ratio * $height) < $max_height) { $tn_height = ceil($x_ratio * $height); $tn_width = $max_width; } else { $tn_width = ceil($y_ratio * $width); $tn_height = $max_height; } $tmp = imagecreatetruecolor($tn_width,$tn_height); imagecopyresampled($tmp,$src,0,0,0,0,$tn_width, $tn_height,$width,$height); $destination_pic = "img/thumbs/" . $idnum . "thumb"; if($filetype == "image/jpeg") { imagejpeg($tmp,$destination_pic,80); } else if($filetype == "image/png") { imagepng($tmp,$destination_pic,80); } else if($filetype == "image/gif") { imagegif($tmp,$destination_pic,80); } imagedestroy($src); imagedestroy($tmp); The script works fine with jpeg and gif but when running on a png the file will be corrupted. Is there anything special I need to use when working with a png? I have never worked with this sort of thing in PHP so I'm not very familiar with it.

  • iPhone XML SOAP requests or .NET Web Services

    - by CocoaNewBee
    I've been trying to to consume SOAP requests (.NET web services) and have found some pretty good tools that I wanted to share: 1) http://grabalife.com/2009/10/19/using-net-web-services-and-dataset-objects-in-your-iphone-app/ Really easy clean way to perform all the call needed for consuming the services. 2) http://code.google.com/p/mac-soapclient/ SOAP Client uses WSDL files you provide to dynamically create a graphical user interface for any given SOAP-based web service Hopefully that will help someone as much as me!!! • PHP Dom problem, how to insert html code in a particular div

    - by sala_7
    I am trying to replace the html code inside the div 'resultsContainer' with the html of $response. The result of my unsuccessful code is that the contents of 'resultsContainer' remain and the html of $response shows up on screen as text rather than being parsed as html. Finally, I would like to inject the content of $response inside 'resultContainer' without having to create any new div, I need this: <div id='resultsContainer'>Html inside $response here...</div> and NOT THIS: <div id='resultsContainer'><div>Html inside $response here...</div></div> // Set Config libxml_use_internal_errors(true); $doc = new DomDocument(); $doc->strictErrorChecking = false; $doc->validateOnParse = true; // load the html page $app = file_get_contents('index.php'); $doc->loadHTML($app); // get the dynamic content $response = file_get_contents('search.php'.$query); $response = utf8_decode($response); // add dynamic content to corresponding div $node = $doc->createElement('div', $response); $doc->getElementById('resultsContainer')->appendChild($node); // echo html snapshot echo $doc->saveHTML();

  • js loading page message not working on php file

    - by eggman20
    Merry Christmas guys, I found a code that displays a loading message using a gif. It uses the onLoad="init()" in the body tag. It works fine on an HTML file but it doesn't when the file is in PHP. Do I need to change anything in here or this just won't work in a PHP file? here's the code: <body onLoad="init()"> <div id="loading" style="position:absolute; width:100%; text-align:center; top:300px;"> <img src="loading.gif" border=0></div> <script> var ld=(document.all); var ns4=document.layers; var ns6=document.getElementById&&!document.all; var ie4=document.all; if (ns4) ld=document.loading; else if (ns6) ld=document.getElementById("loading").style; else if (ie4) ld=document.all.loading.style; function init() { if(ns4){ld.visibility="hidden";} else if (ns6||ie4) ld.display="none"; } </script> <!-- Content here --> </body> Thanks in advance!!!

  • Recommended approach for error handling with PHP and MYSQL

    - by iama
    I am trying to capture database (MYSQL) errors in my PHP web application. Currently, I see that there are functions like mysqli_error(), mysqli_errno() for capturing the last occurred error. However, this still requires me to check for error occurrence using repeated if/else statements in my php code. You may check my code below to see what I mean. Is there a better approach to doing this? (or) Should I write my own code to raise exceptions and catch them in one single place? What is the recommended approach? Also, does PDO raise exceptions? Thanks. function db_userexists($name, $pwd, &$dbErr) { $bUserExists = false; $uid = 0; $dbErr = ''; $db = new mysqli(SERVER, USER, PASSWORD, DB); if (!mysqli_connect_errno()) { $query = "select uid from user where uname = ? and pwd = ?"; $stmt = $db->prepare($query); if ($stmt) { if ($stmt->bind_param("ss", $name, $pwd)) { if ($stmt->bind_result($uid)) { if ($stmt->execute()) { if ($stmt->fetch()) { if ($uid) $bUserExists = true; } } } } if (!$bUserExists) $dbErr = $db->error(); $stmt->close(); } if (!$bUserExists) $dbErr = $db->error(); $db->close(); } else { $dbErr = mysqli_connect_error(); } return $bUserExists; }

  • How to refer to enum constants in c# xml docs

    - by Bruno Martinez
    I want to document the default value of an enum typed field: /// <summary> /// The default value is <see cref="Orientation.Horizontal" />. /// </summary> public Orientation BoxOrientation; The compiler warns that it couldn't resolve the reference. Prefixing F: or M: silences the compiler, but E: also does, so I'm unsure what prefix is correct.

  • Merge XML files with configurable rules (context: Maven POMs, Java)

    - by Patrick Bergner
    Hi, I'm currently writing some kind of a Maven POM preprocessor that assembles a POM for a project from multiple input files (basically a template and a module specific file). The files are hierarchically ordered (template = most general, module specific = least general). The problem is now to merge these files into a single POM file. Long story short or if you're not familiar with Maven: a POM looks like this (shortened): <project> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>org.apache.maven</groupId> <artifactId>maven-core</artifactId> </dependency> </dependencies> </project> Basically the merger shall replace all values of the more general file with the values of the more specific file (i.e. singletons, e.g. the <modelVersion> above) but there are certain elements where the merger shall add the more certain element to a parent (i.e. collections, e.g. <dependency> elements shall always be added to the <dependencies> element and no <dependency> element shall be replaced by another). A more detailed example with definition of desired output: File A: <project> <modelVersion>A</modelVersion> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>groupIdA</groupId> <artifactId>artifactIdA</artifactId> </dependency> </dependencies> </project> File B: <project> <modelVersion>B</modelVersion> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>groupIdB</groupId> <artifactId>artifactIdB</artifactId> </dependency> </dependencies> </project> Desired output: <project> <modelVersion>B</modelVersion> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>groupIdA</groupId> <artifactId>artifactIdA</artifactId> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>groupIdB</groupId> <artifactId>artifactIdB</artifactId> </dependency> </dependencies> </project> The set of collection type elements are known and should be configurable (preferably via a set of XPath expressions). A Java based solution is appreciated. What looked most promising so far was the tool mentioned here but the MERGE action produces something like <dependency> <groupId>groupIdAgroupIdB</groupId> <artifactId>artifactIdAartifactIdB</artifactId> </dependency> when merging, which is not what I need. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

  • PHP – Slow String Manipulation

    - by Simon Roberts
    I have some very large data files and for business reasons I have to do extensive string manipulation (replacing characters and strings). This is unavoidable. The number of replacements runs into hundreds of thousands. It's taking longer than I would like. PHP is generally very quick but I'm doing so many of these string manipulations that it's slowing down and script execution is running into minutes. This is a pain because the script is run frequently. I've done some testing and found that str_replace is fastest, followed by strstr, followed by preg_replace. I've also tried individual str_replace statements as well as constructing arrays of patterns and replacements. I'm toying with the idea of isolating string manipulation operation and writing in a different language but I don't want to invest time in that option only to find that improvements are negligible. Plus, I only know Perl, PHP and COBOL so for any other language I would have to learn it first. I'm wondering how other people have approached similar problems? I have searched and I don't believe that this duplicates any existing questions.

  • forcing a download using PHP / jQuery

    - by Dirty-flow
    I know there are already many questions about forcing a download with PHP, but I can't find what I'm doing wrong and what should I do. I'm having an list with filenames, and I want to download one of them by clicking a button. My jQuery: $(".MappeDownload").on("click",function(e){ e.stopPropagation(); fileId=$(this).val() $.post("ajax/DownloadFile.php",{ id : fileId}) }) and on the server side I have a table with the file names and the file path. $sql = "SELECT vUploadPfad, vUploadOriginname FROM tabUpload WHERE zUploadId='$_POST[id]'"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(""); $file = mysql_fetch_array($result); $localfile = $file["vUploadPfad"]; $name=$file["vUploadOriginname"]; $fp = fopen($localfile, 'rb'); header("Cache-Control: "); header("Pragma: "); header("Content-Type: application/octet-stream"); header("Content-Length: " . filesize($localfile)); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='".$name."';"); header("Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary\n"); fpassthru($fp); exit; The AJAX request is successful, I'm getting the right header(filesize, filename etc...) but the download are not starting.

  • jQuery AJAX tabs + PHP

    - by ufw
    Hi, seems like I'm stuck with jQuery tabs. I'm trying to pass selected tab name to some php script but is seems like it doesn't get any data. This is how tabs normally work without any response from server side: http://pastebin.com/KBxj7p5k And this is how I try to pass the the current tab name to the server: $(document).ready(function() { $('ul.tabs li').css('cursor', 'pointer'); $('ul.tabs.tabs1 li').click(function(){ var thisClass = this.className.slice(0,2); $('div.t1').hide(); $('div.t2').hide(); $('div.t3').hide(); $('div.t4').hide(); $('div.' + thisClass).show('fast'); $('ul.tabs.tabs1 li').removeClass('tab-current'); $(this).addClass('tab-current'); var name = thisClass; var data = 'name='+name; $.ajax ({ type:"GET", url:"handler.php", data:data, success:function(html) { thisClass.html(html); } }); }); Thanks.

  • "Ghost" values in PHP/Smarty.

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    I've been working on a site for a while changing the layout and skin of a webshop checkout process. I've noticed that if you go all the way through the process until the last page, then click the link to go back to the view products page, the delivery method price displays underneath the navigation buttons, until you refresh and it goes away again. I've downloaded both sourced from the browser (Chrome, but this bug applies to all browsers) and used a file difference tool to display the differences, the result being only: < error.html vs > normal.html 34c34 < <link href="gzip.php?file=167842c1496093fbcd391b41cf7b03da.css&time=1272272181" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css"/> --- > <link href="gzip.php?file=167842c1496093fbcd391b41cf7b03da.css&time=1272272348" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css"/> Which is just the way it zips up the CSS stylesheets. (afaik) Has anyone ever encountered such a problem, or anything similar? Normal: Error: I can't even hazard a guess as to what is causing this, at all. I've searched over Google for anything and come up with nothing. What could be causing this? The site in question is Euroworker.no. HTML @ Pastebin. Smarty snippet: {if !$CANONICAL} {canonical}{self}{/canonical} {/if} <link rel="canonical" href="{$CANONICAL}" /> <!-- Css includes --> {includeCss file="frontend/Frontend.css"} {includeCss file="backend/stat.css"} {if {isRTL}} {includeCss file="frontend/FrontendRTL.css"} {/if} {compiledCss glue=true nameMethod=hash} <!--[if lt IE 8]> <link href="stylesheet/frontend/FrontendIE.css" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css"/> {if $ieCss} <link href="{$ieCss}" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css"/> {/if} <![endif]--> Thanks.

  • Can I use php SESSIONS in spotify apps?

    - by user1593846
    since PHP can't be used in Spotify apps directly I am using it on my server only, but I am having problems getting the sessions to work, is it possible to use sessions even? I want to use it to see if a user is registered in my database or not so I am doing it like this: session_start(); $query="SELECT * FROM user WHERE facebookID = {$fbid}"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $num_results = mysql_num_rows($result); if ($num_results > 0) { echo"THERE IS A USER!"; $row['facebookID'] = $_SESSION[fid]; } else { echo"THERE IS NO USER!"; } the authentication to the server works fine but the session does not seem to be working, on another PHP page witch is being called after the above code has been called with some ajax code I simply wanted to try this: session_start(); if(isset($_SESSION['fid'])) { echo"SESSION EXIST"; } else { echo"NO SESSION"; } anyways is there a special way to do this in Spotify apps or do I have to do this in some other way?
