• Why does Excel 2010 automatically reformat numbers?

  Excel 2010 is automatically reformatting numbers/cells where a specific number format has already been applied. Whenever I access or modify the cell contents, Excel reformats by changing the number of decimal places to 2. I've already gone into file \ options \ advanced \ and made sure that the option to automatically add decimal places is unselected, but Excel still automatically makes the change. Very time consuming to continue reselecting number formats each time the cell contents are changed/accessed. Any ideas? Thx!

• MaxConnections: is it a Client or Request count?

  IIS allows me to set a MaxConnections value in the configuration. What is unclear (to me anyway) is what that number means exactly, and I can't find a definitive documented answer. Is this the maximum number of clients that connect simultaneously, or is the maximum number of requests that can be running concurrently? For example, if I have a page that loads up some images, CSS files, scripts and content, each of those could reasonably be on a separate request socket with a modern browser. Is each of those sockets counted against the "max", or is it counted only as 1 since they are all requests from the same client address?

• Use LibTIff in C# to convert from one tiff format to another

  I have a Tiff using JPEG format the WPF / C# can not handle via TiffBitmapDecoder. Our clients use the file format and our current C++ and Java code handles it. I need to convert this to a format I can display using TiffBitmapDecoder or standard BitmapImage. It looks like the C# version of LibTiff is the way to go but I am not having any luck converting in code. • Using MigLayout, why is a JButton following a JTable unresponsive and how to fix this?

  Hi everyone, I am having a mind-boggling problem regarding the use of a JButton following a JTable with MigLayout. It is totally unresponsive unless I push it far enough past the JTable (then it can behave correctly). I have tried running the code with both the MigLayout JAR of the version we use for end user products and with the very most recent one; same result.   I am trying to create a program that will do some simple calculations, but am having trouble with the program not doing the correct math, or placing the decimal correctly, or something. Some other people I asked cannot figure it out either. Assume the employee receives a pay raise once every year. The user specifies in the application the initial weekly salary, the amount of the raise (in percent per year) and the number of years for which the amounts earned will be calculated. The application should run as shown in Fig. 8.22. in your text. (fig 8.22 is the output i posted above as what my program should be posting) Opening the template source code file. Open the PayRaise.cpp file in your text editor or IDE. Defining variables and prompting the user for input. To store the raise percentage and years of employment that the user inputs, define int variables rate and years, in main after line 12. Also define double variable wage to store the user’s annual wage. Then, insert statements that prompt the user for the raise percentage, years of employment and starting weekly wage. Store the values typed at the keyboard in the rate, years and wage variables, respectively. To find the annual wage, multiply the new wage by 52 (the number of weeks per year) and store the result in wage. Displaying a table header and formatting output. Use the left and setw stream manipulators to display a table header as shown in Fig. 8.22 in your text. The first column should be six characters wide. Then use the fixed and setprecision stream manipulators to format floating- point values with two positions to the left of the decimal point. Writing a for statement header. Insert a for statement. Before the first semicolon in the for statement header, define and initialize the variable counter to 1. Before the second semicolon, enter a loop- continuation condition that will cause the for statement to loop until counter has reached the number of years entered. After the second semicolon, enter the increment of counter so that the for statement executes once for each number of years. Calculating the pay raise. In the body of the for statement, display the value of counter in the first column and the value of wage in the second column. Then calculate the new weekly wage for the following year, and store the resulting value in the wage variable. To do this, add 1 to the percentage increase (be sure to divide the percentage by 100.0 ) and multiply the result by the current value in wage. Save, compile and run the application. Input a raise percentage and a number of years for the wage increase. View the results to ensure that the correct years are displayed and that the future wage results are correct. • SQL -- How to combine three SELECT statements with very tricky requirements

  I have a SQL query with three SELECT statements. A picture of the data tables generated by these three select statements is located at www.britestudent.com/pub/1.png. Each of the three data tables have identical columns. I want to combine these three tables into one table such that: (1) All rows in top table (Table1) are always included. (2) Rows in the middle table (Table2) are included only when the values in column1 (UserName) and column4 (CourseName) do not match with any row from Table1. Both columns need to match for the row in Table2 to not be included. (3) Rows in the bottom table (Table3) are included only when the value in column4 (CourseName) is not already in any row of the results from combining Table1 and Table2. I have had success in implementing (1) and (2) with an SQL query like this: SELECT DISTINCT UserName AS UserName, MAX(AmountUsed) AS AmountUsed, MAX(AnsweredCorrectly) AS AnsweredCorrectly, CourseName, MAX(course_code) AS course_code, MAX(NoOfQuestionsInCourse) AS NoOfQuestionsInCourse, MAX(NoOfQuestionSetsInCourse) AS NoOfQuestionSetsInCourse FROM ( "SELECT statement 1" UNION "SELECT statement 2" ) dt_derivedTable_1 GROUP BY CourseName, UserName Where "SELECT statement 1" is the query that generates Table1 and "SELECT statement 2" is the query that generates Table2. A picture of the data table generated by this query is located at www.britestudent.com/pub/2.png. I can get away with using the MAX() function because values in the AmountUsed and AnsweredCorrectly columns in Table1 will always be larger than those in Table2 (and they are identical in the last three columns of both tables). What I fail at is implementing (3). Any suggestions on how to do this will be appreciated. It is tricky because the UserName values in Table3 are null, and because the CourseName values in the combined Table1 and Table2 results are not unique (but they are unique in Table3). After implementing (3), the final table should look like the table in picture 2.png with the addition of the last row from Table3 (the row with the CourseName value starting with "4. Klasse..." I have tried to implement (3) using another derived table using SELECT, MAX() and UNION, but I could not get it to work. Below is my full SQL query with the lines from this failed attempt to implement (3) commented out. • CommandBinding broken in inner Custom Control when nesting two Custom Controls of the same type.

  I've done a Custom Control in form of a GroupBox but with an extra header which purpose is to hold a button or a stackpanel with buttons at the other side. I've added the a Dependency Property to hold the extra header and I've connected the customized template. Everything works fine until I put one of these controls in another one. Now the wierd stuff begins(at least in my eyes xP), the command binding in the inner control simply isn't set. I tried to use Snoop to gather some data, the see if the inherits is broken and when I clicked on the buttons which isn't doing what I want it to, boom, breakpoint triggered. So in some wierd way the Command isn't set until something that I don't know what it is, happens, which snoops triggers. I've also tried to put the buttons in the regular Header property and that works fine, but not with my own made. I could just switch places with them to make it like I want but now I'm curious to know where the problem lies... Now I wonder, what can I've missed? • jScrollPane jEditable DOM problems

  Hello world, I am having a funky problem. See (this link won't disappear): www.skitzo.org/~el/bugjeditable.png for the firebug output screenshot. Here's my code. I run getJSON() to fetch the info from the PHP which pulls from DB and I fill a div with the result. I have jScrollPane and jEditable so a user can scroll down and click to edit any of the content. It works sometimes and then it doesn't work which makes me wonder if the browser is not interpreting the code properly or if I am misunderstanding fundamental DOM concepts here....   I have a question regarding an iPhone game I'm developing. At the moment, below is the code I'm using to currently I loop through my multidimensional array and position bricks accordingly on my scene. Instead of having multiple two dimensional arrays within my code as per the following (gameLevel1). Ideally, I'd like to read from a text file within my project and loop through the values in that instead. Please take into account that I'd like to have more than one level within my game (possibly 20) so my text file would have to have some sort of separator line item to determine what level I want to render.   Greetings, I'm try to do valdation textbox input to valdate a phone number. I have a asp.net textbox and checkbox. the defualt is to validate a us phone number and when I check the checkbox I should change the RegularExpression and error message to validate an international phone using my own RegularExpression. I have no problem to validate the international phone but the problem is when validating the usa phone number I'm always getting error message that it is invalde phone number. • iPhone game reading plist file and looping through multi dimensional array.

  I have a question regarding an iPhone game I'm developing. At the moment, below is the code I'm using to currently I loop through my multidimensional array and position bricks accordingly on my scene. Instead of having multiple two dimensional arrays within my code as per the following (gameLevel1). Ideally, I'd like to read from a .plist file within my project and loop through the values in that instead. Please take into account that I'd like to have more than one level within my game (possibly 20) so my .plist file would have to have some sort of separator line item to determine what level I want to render.   Hello, I have a big problem. I use additional controls for Wpf. One of them is Telerik RadWindow This control is already templated. Now I want to create custom Window with will inherit from RadWindow, and make custom template, eg. One base window will contains grid and two buttons, second base window will contain two grids (master - detail). The problem is that templates do not support inheritance. Perhaps is another way to template only the content of Winodow? EDIT Upon further investigation command.Connection.FireInfoMessageEventOnUserErrors = true; is causeing the error to be surpressed into the InfoMessage Event From BOL When you set FireInfoMessageEventOnUserErrors to true, errors that were previously treated as exceptions are now handled as InfoMessage events. All events fire immediately and are handled by the event handler. If is FireInfoMessageEventOnUserErrors is set to false, then InfoMessage events are handled at the end of the procedure. What I want is each print statement from Sql to create a new log record. Setting this property to false combines it as one big string. • Add objects to Arraylist inside loop and get a list of them outside loops

  Im already done with a method to do a shot on a board (bidimensional array). THe shot goes from the bottom to the top, and depending of the direction, it do bounces on the walls to get to the top. The thing is that I did the method to represent the trayectory with an 'x'. Now, I want to add the coordinates x and y of each position of the shot (b [x][y]) to and Arraylist of Objects Position. public Position(int row,int col) { this.row = row; this.col = col; } The thing is that the method uses a for loop and inside if loops, and I'll need to create the objects inside, and get them outside. All that I get is a wrong position, and repeated during the number of positions the shot goes through. I need some help. I suppose the problem is that Im creating and adding Position Objects inside an ArrayList inside loops, but in a wrong way. I will need you to explain me how to do it properly ; ) Thanks in advance.
