By compressed files I mean files compressed using the buildin Windows Compression utility, not zip. But I have a hard time figuring out how to localize the compressed files. Should I go with WMI or?   I know the process id of an application in Mac OS X. How can I switch to it (using applescript, or python, or whatever)? By "switch", I mean, put in focus. The usual solution is to use the applescript code tell application "Foo" activate, but here the name is not useful because I have many instances of the same application running. I am however able to get the process id of the application. How can I switch to this application programmatically?

I can add an arbitaty id to them but I would like to avoid that as they don't mean anything. The retrieval of these objects is always on another key (like UserId) which is not unique to the record.

  When I submit my MVC Page I get an IvalidOperationException from System.Web.Mvc Controller object in the UpdateModel method. the MSDN documentation states that this method does the following: Updates the specified model instance using values from the controller's current value provider. Is the value provider referencing the current Request object? Or where exactly does it get the values that it is using to update the model? • Selenium RC slower on Windows 7 than on XP?

  I've got two systems, one with Windows XP and another with 7, both running Firefox 3.6, the same version of Selenium RC and the newest nunit. When I run tests on 7, it is executed extremely slowly (I mean walking by textbox and setting its values), but when I execute this script on Windows XP it is extremely fast. Do you have the same experience? Do you know what the problem might be?

  Yes, I am needing to know what the total number possible IPs in the public IPv4 space. I'm not sure where to even get a neat list of all the IP address ranges, so could someone point me to a resource to calculate this myself or calculate the total number of IPs for me? • rsync : Read input from a file and sync accordingly

  I have a text file which contains the list of files and directories that I want to copy (one on a line). Now I want rsync to take this input from my text file and sync it to the destination that I provide. I've tried playing around with "--include-from=FILE" and "--file-from=FILE" options of rsync but is is just not working I also tried pre-fixing "+" on each line in my file but still it is not working. I have tried coming with various filter PATTERNs as outlined in the rsync man page but it is not working. Could someone provide me correct syntax for this use case. I've tried above things on Fedora 15, RHEL 6.2 and Ubuntu 10.04 and none worked. So i am definitely missing something. Many thanks.

• Filtering attachment types in Google Apps (free Google Business)

  We have Google apps in our company for mail delivery, our business can't pay the business version yet, however, we need to control the attachment types that employees download. We recently switched from another hosting provider who recomended us to plug Google Apps for mail when we moved the domain, we had a firewall before which was able to prevent certain file types to be downloaded. I know the business version has section for filtering mail (postini services). Is there a hack around my problem? Anyone ever had this problem? Thank you! UPDATE: The main problem is gmail apps uses ssl connection, can this be changed ? how can i get the firewall to filter files only allowing *.doc, *.xls y *.pdf.

  In Windows 7, if you press the Windows key and type the name of a folder, and the folder shows up among the Start menu search results. In Windows 8, if you do the same thing, no folders are listed. The Files filter shows files with matching names, but no folders. I realize that you can still search for folders from the Windows Explorer search box, but navigating that way is a bit slow and clumsy. Is there a quicker way, in particular a way to search directly from the Windows 8 Start screen?
