  • F# working with while loop

    I have a datareader and i want to return collection of rows from it, after reading books for like a day i am not able to find out best way to do it in f#. I can do it normal C# way in F# but that is not why i am using f# Here is what i am trying to achieve let values = while reader.Read() do yield reader.GetString(0), reader.GetInt64(1) Above is how i am trying to do all values get collected into values, which could be dictinary or tuples or any collection yield can't be used in while loop but that is what i am trying to do What could be the best way to achieve this

    I'm attempting to get the height of an element using jQuery, but am receiving some unexpected results.     I'm extending PreferenceActivity for my settings screen. In this preference activity i have a couple of preferences one of which is custom made. The problem is as follows: in this custom preference (which extends from ListPreference) i want to be able to set the default value, so i override the setDefaultValue() method. In this method i do some parsing so it'll take the correct value. When i'm trying to read this value with the getValue() function it just returns null. So i figured, what happens when i just put some hardcoded value in there (you know, maybe i did something wrong, wouldn't be the first time). Well, i still get null back. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong? Edit: Setting the defaultValue in the xml file isn't really an option because the values aren't known until i retrieve them. I made a workaround: When app is started for the first time: get data Set the values in the preference. This way i set the default preference when i'm collection the data

  • Working with sockets in MFC

    I'm trying to make a MFC application(client) that connects to a server on ("localhost",port 1234), the server replies to the client and the client reads from the server's response. The server is able to receive the data from the client and it sends the reply back to the socket from where it received it, but I am unable to read the reply from within the client. I am making a CAsyncSocket to connect to the server and send data and a CAsyncSocket with overloaded methods onAccet and onReceive to read the reply from the server. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

    I'm using ADO.NET in my C# project. In my form I added a SourceBinding element from my toolbox in VS2010. I set the connection to the table of my dataset. It creates a DataAdapter automaticly for my. I want to insert a record, so I call the Insert() method of the DataAdapter. But when I view my database data, it doesn't have any new records... orderID = this.orderTableAdapter.Insert("", "", (int)OrderStatus.IN_CONSTRUCTION, DateTime.Now); Or do I need to insert it manually with the SqlCommand???

    Hi there. I have a javascript function that gets a DIV by an ID and makes a clone. Then, removes the original DIV from DOM and inserts the cloned object..Everything works fine, except in IE, because the original DIV is never removed... var loadingDiv = $(Sybil.conf.loadingDivId), loadingClone = loadingDiv.clone(true); console.log($$('.loadingImg')); loadingDiv.remove(); //Insert the loading div on the page again elt.insert({after: loadingClone}); [loadingClone].invoke(func); console.log($$('.loadingImg')); The div also has a span inside with the class "loadingImg", so i just used the console.log to check how many elements there are. FF always prints [span.loadingImg] but IE prints [span.loadingImg,span.loadingImg] on the second console.log... Any idea of what might be happening? Thanks

Transparent pixels showed up as black pixels, but after some time I found the cause: Color c = new Color (input.getRGB(x, y)); Works-> if ((input.getRGB(x, y) & 0xFF000000) != 0x00000000) { do_smth();} Returns true at all times-> if (c.getAlpha() != 0) { do_smth(); } So why it does not work?

    Here's my table with some sample data a_id | b_id ------------ 1 225 2 494 3 589 When I run this query INSERT IGNORE INTO table_name (a_id, b_id) VALUES ('4', '230') ('2', '494') It inserts both those rows when it's supposed to ignore the second value pair (2, 494) No indexes defined, neither of those columns are primary. What don't I know?

  • looping thru a list of checkboxes and saving the values, not working properly

    Hello all, I'm having a bit of a problem with this code. The program gives me a list of checkboxes but a user ID. then u user can change his selection and push the save button (id="btnSaveUserIntersts") and i am trying to save in the hidden textbox all the values of the checkboxes that was choosen. The problem is that i am getting all the time the same selections that came form the database and not getting the new selection that the user made.     Is there a reason as to why $map = directory_map('./', TRUE); works perfectly and, $map = directory_map('../', TRUE); doesn’t work at all? I tried creating a directory with the basic mkdir(); PHP function (http://php.net/mkdir) and it didn’t work either. Can anyone set me in the right direction as to what I’m doing wrong and how I can fix it? Thanks!

    I have a "description textarea" inside a form where user may enter a description for an item. This is validated with javascript before the form beeing submitted. One of the validation-steps is this: else if (!fld.value.match(desExp)){ And desExp: var desExp = /^\s*(\w[^\w]*){3}.*$/gm; Now my problem, this works fine on all cases except for descriptions where the description BEGINS with a special character of the swedish language (å, ä, ö). This wont work: åäö hello world But this will: hello world åäö Any fixes? Thanks
