• Python - output from functions?

  Hi I have a very rudimentary question. Assume I call a function, e.g., def foo(): x = 'hello world' How do I get the function to return x in such a way that I can use it as the input for another function or use the variable within the body of a program? When I use return and call the variable within another functions I get a NameError. Thanks, S :-)

  I found out this morning that proc.new works in a class initialize method, but not lambda. Concretely, I mean: class TestClass attr_reader :proc, :lambda def initialize @proc = Proc.new {puts "Hello from Proc"} @lambda = lambda {puts "Hello from lambda"} end end c = TestClass.new c.proc.call c.lambda.call In the above case, the result will be: Hello from Proc test.rb:14:in `<main>': undefined method `call' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError) Why is that? • Problem in java.util.Set.addAll() method

  I have a java.util.Set<City> cities and I need to add cities to this set in 2 ways: By adding individual city (with the help of cities.add(city) method call) By adding another set of cities to this set (with the help of cities.addAll(anotherCitiesSet) method call) But the problem in second approach is that i don't know whether there were any duplicate cities in the anotherCitiesSet. I want to do some processing whenever a duplicate entry is tried to be entered in thecities set.

This seems counter intuitive to me as I think the error handler should only fire when an error occurs as a result of making the Ajax call or via a server-side error.   I'm trying to create an offline HTML5 test application, and am playing with the new google fonts api at the same time. Does anyone have any ideas how to cache the remote fonts? Simply putting the api call in the cache manifest doesn't work, I assume this is because the api actually loads other files (ttf, eot, etc). Any ideas if using the font api offline would be possible?
