  • Organising dates in PHP

    Hi All, Im wanting to organize a series of dates in the following format. As a bit of context, the dates are the dates of upcoming events that can be added by my users. The format: January 2011 date - event date - event date - event February 2011 date - event date - event date - event with all events in a given month, arranged by the date on which they occur. All of my event dates are stored in my database as unix timestamps. Problem is, i dotn know where id start to develop a function that would order all of my events in this way. Can anyone help me out?     For a little project about XML I try to use HTML5 as it has SVG and WAI-ARIA Support. I also want to use a XSL stylesheet for my document. But I can't get a valid HTML5 document with a nested SVG. Here are some version I tested so far: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output indent="yes" method="xml"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> // content with the svg tag in the body </html> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> In combination with header('Content-Type: application/xml'); it works and produces this HTML output: <?xml version="1.0"?> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> // content with the svg tag in the body </html> But it is not HTML5 and without a DOCTYPE I get a lot of errors on the W3 validator. Using header('Content-Type: image/xhtml+svg'); or header('Content-Type: text/html'); there is no XML parsing error, but the page will not show the SVG as a graph but as text (without the tags). Can anyone tell me how to avoid the meta tag to be inserted or how to set a propper Content-Type that will make the browser rendern the SVG. Or even any other hint to get this working. I would really like to keep HTML5 to be able to keep the WAI-ARIA Landmark Roles an the HTML5 tags like NAV and FOOTER.

  • using fopen on uploaded file with php

    Im uploading a file, and then attempting to use fgetcsv to do things to it. This is my script below. Everything was working fine before i added the file upload portions. Now its not showing any errors, its just not displaying the uploaded data.     A friend build a ranking system on his site and I am trying to host in on mine via wordpress and godaddy. It updates for him but when I load it to my site, it works for 6 hours, but as soon as the reload is supposed to occur, it errors and I get a 500 timeout error.     Hi guys, The characters I am getting from the URL, for example www.mydomain.com/?name=john , were fine, as longs as they were not in Russian. If they were are in Russian, I was getting '????'. So I added $name= iconv("cp1251","utf-8" ,$name); and now it works fine for Russian and English characters, but screws up other languages. :))) For example 'Janis' ( Latvian ) that worked fine before iconv, now turns into 'j??nis'. Any idea if there's some universal encoder that would work with both the Cyrillic languages and not screw up other languages?

    I am creating a simple Proxy server for my website. Why I am not using mod_proxy and mod_cache is a different discussion. Plays in Chrome, but not in Firefox. Initially I'll be using this to stream MP3 files through Long Tail's JW Player. If it all works out, I'll also be using this to send ZIP files.

  • Pulling a timestamp from an XML feed with PHP but seem to be to many digits

    I am pulling a timestamp from a feed and it gives 12 digits (1269088723811). When I convert it, it comes out as 1901-12-13 20:45:52, but if I put the timestamp into http://www.epochconverter.com/ it comes out as Sat, 20 Mar 2010 12:38:43 GMT, which is the correct time. epochconverter.com mentions that it maybe in milliseconds so I have amended the script to take care of it using $mil = $timestamp; $seconds = $mil / 1000; $date = date('Y-m-d H:i:s', date($seconds)); but it still converts the date wrong, 1970-01-25 20:31:23. What am I doing wrong?

LIMIT ?,?"; $iDB = new mysqliDB(); // Extends mysqli $stmt = $iDB->prepare($sql); $stmt->bind_param('iiii',$entityID,$typeID,$minRange,$maxRange); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->bind_result($photoID,$caption); echo("Affected={$stmt->affected_rows}"); This prints -1. I have triple tested that all 4 values in bindParam are set, and that the sql query works when pasted into myAdmin with the respective values. Any idea what may be causing this?
