• change shell directory from a script?

  i want to make a script (to) that makes it easier for me to enter folders. so eg. if i type "to apache" i want it to change the current directory to /etc/apache2. however, when i use the "cd" command inside the script, it seems like it changes the path WITHIN the script, so the path in the shell has not changed. how could i make this work?

  I load jquery into my greasemonkey script and when the user clicks the start button the script makes a bunch of ajax calls. I then empty body and append data. When i click on something and hit back instead of getting the page post script i lose all the data and need to run the ajax calls again (it can take seconds to run). How do i make it not lose the changes?

  I have created a simple view consisting of 3 tables in SQL. By right clicking and selecting Design, in the Object explorer table, i modified my custom view. I just added sortby asc in a field. The problem is that the changes are not reflected in the outout of the View. After saving the view, and selecting Open view the sort is not displayed in output. So what is going on here?

• Python command line - add PYTHONPATH during module run

  I want to run: python somescript.py somecommand But, when I run this I need PYTHONPATH to include a certain directory. I can't just add it to my environment variables because the directory I want to add changes based on what project I'm running. Is there a way to alter PYTHONPATH while running a script? Note: I don't even have a PYTHONPATH variable, so I don't need to worry about appending to it vs overriding it during running of this script.

  Is there any way for a before_save filter to halt the entire save without halting the transaction? What I'm trying to do is have a "sample" version of my model that the user can interact with and save but the changes themselves are never actually saved.   Hi all, I have a query factory that takes a column name as an attribute in order to search for that column. Right now I'm passing the name of the column as a string, so it's kind of hardcoded. If the name of the column changes in the entity's annotation, that "hidden dependency" breaks up. Is there a way in jpa to retrieve the real name of the column and have it available at compile time, so I can use it in queries?
