  • Set focus to a button in a new TabItem

    - by Jan
I use a TabControl to display a list of items. The ItemView is a separate control I wrote. <TabControl SelectedItem="{Binding CurrentItem}" IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" ItemsSource="{Binding ItemList}"> <TabControl.ContentTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ctrls:ItemView/> </DataTemplate> </TabControl.ContentTemplate> <TabControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding ShortItemDescription}"/> </DataTemplate> </TabControl.ItemTemplate> </TabControl> If the user presses a Button a new ViewModel is added to the list of ViewModels and the TabControl displays it as a new tab. After adding the new tab is selected. <Button Command="{Binding AddItemCommand}" Content="Add item"/> Inside of the new ViewModel is a button that needs to be focused each time a new tab is added. I have tried to use the FocusManager and the Initialized event in the ItemView but these are only called for the first time I add a new tab. <UserControl x:Class="ItemView" ... Initialized="ViewInitialized"> <Grid> ... <!-- Set focus to this button --> <Button Content="Search" Command="{Binding SearchCommand}" Name="SearchButton" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="0"/> </Grid> </UserControl> Any ideas?

    - by pfunc
I am creating a nav in flex that pulls in buttons dynamically from xml. THe problem i am having is setting the button width to the text width. currently the buttons are all the same width and if the text is larger then it just cuts off. I've tried a few ways of doing this: Setting button width to 100% On creation of the button try to set the width of the button to the text programmatically. Something like evt.target.width = evt.target.textWidth; Anyone know the correct way to do this?

  • Turn Bluetooth On and Off in Andriod 1.5 (SDK level 3)?

    - by pcm2a
There are tons of pay and free bluetooth toggles on the market that work with Android 1.5 (SDK level 3). The problem is there is no visible API for this! Does anyone have any working code snippits on how to enable and disable bluetooth that works on Android 1.5? I assume you must have to use some kind of reflection for it. There are some examples over on anddev.org, but they only work with Android 1.1 or lower. This is for Android 1.5 (SDK level 3) and not Android 2.0 or greater. In Android 2.0 or later Google added easy to use APIs.

  • No pre-built ActionBar for Android pre-3.0?

    - by Ollie C
I note the release a few days ago of the static library bringing fragments to Android versions prior to 3.0, but does this library include the ActionBar? I suspect not. I assume that for an app that will work on pre-3.0 versions, that it needs a hand-built ActionBar implementation for versions up to 2.3 and then to use the OS default ActionBar in v3.0? for some reason I assumed the library had ActionBar in it, but as I dig further I'm not finding any evidence of its presence.

  • database change after pressing 'X' button

    - by Anup Prakash
What i know:- We can use Ajax to change database from javascript. So whenever we press the 'X' button on title bar it calls "onbeforeunload" event. And by this event we can change the database. But in my case, i want to change the status of user only when user click on 'X' button. Not in case of changing the page. As because changing the page is unloading the page. and closing the page is also unloading the page(As much i know). Is there any way to differentiate between closing the page and moving from one page to other page? I want to use it for changing the status of user(i.e. login/logout), whenever he presses cross button. I don't want to set status "logout" when user changes the page. I want to set status "logout" when user 'X' the button. Plese help me.

  • Java Appending a character to a textarea

    - by adam08
    I'm looking to appends a character to a textarea in. I have a simple GUI designed to look like like a mobile phone and I want to be able to click on one of the buttons and update the textarea with that character. If I click another button, I want to be able to append that character to the first. How do I do this? Obviously right now it is just setting the character for that button in the textarea and will be replaced when another button is clicked. public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { String source = e.getActionCommand(); if (source.equals("1")) { TextArea.setText("1"); } else if (source.equals("2abc")) { TextArea.setText("a"); } else if (source.equals("3def")) { TextArea.setText("e"); } else if (source.equals("4ghi")) { TextArea.setText("i"); } else if (source.equals("5jkl")) { TextArea.setText("k"); } else if (source.equals("6mno")) { TextArea.setText("o"); } else if (source.equals("7pqrs")) { TextArea.setText("s"); } else if (source.equals("8tuv")) { TextArea.setText("t"); } else if (source.equals("9wxyz")) { TextArea.setText("x"); }

  • Objective C number keypad, custom comma button

    - by rom_j
I'm trying to add a comma button on a number keypad that has previous, next and done buttons, so that it looks like this : Problem is, that the orange button does not respond to taps. Actually if I moved it above the "7" button and tapped it, the 7 would be tapped. So my orange button may be shown above the keyboard, but it's reacting to taps as if it were below. Here is an abstract of my code : -(void)textFieldDidBeginEditing:(UITextField *)textField{ UIView *inputAccessoryView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 500, screenWidth, 40.0)]; // 3 buttons on top UIView *topToolbar = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0.0, screenWidth, 40.0)]; [topToolbar addSubview:self.inputPrevButton]; [topToolbar addSubview:self.inputNextButton]; [topToolbar addSubview:self.inputDoneButton]; [inputAccessoryView addSubview:topToolbar]; // Comma button UIButton *commaButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; [commaButton setFrame: CGRectMake(0, 204, 105, 52)]; [commaButton setTitle:@"." forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [commaButton addTarget:self action:@selector(addComma) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [commaButton setBackgroundColor:[UIColor orangeColor]]; [inputAccessoryView addSubview:commaButton]; // Useless, but tried anyway [inputAccessoryView bringSubviewToFront:commaButton]; [textField setInputAccessoryView:self.inputAccessoryView]; } All I know is that I should not be doing this (which is actually not working), so what should I do ?

  • Get settings through a button action

    - by Russ Knudsen
I am looking for a way to access user settings (I assume, NSUserDefaults?) through a button action. Let me back up and explain. What I have right now are 2 TextFields a label and a button. The user will type in measurements in the 2 TextFields. When they hit the button the label displays the volume of the measured object in Gallons. That part of it works great. Then I wanted to give the user options to output the volume in Liters instead of gallons. I would also like to give the user options to type in the measurements in Centimeters. So I setup a 'Settings.Bundle' and configured it with 2 'Multi Value' cells (Measurement units and Volumetric Units). Each Multi Value cell has its own list of different units the user can pick from. My main issue is I don't know how to access these settings through the button action. I may be thinking of this wrong, but what I'm looking for is something like; Button Action If settings key = 0 Then do the math in Inches, Display in Gallons If settings key = 1 Then do the math in Centimeters, Display in Gallons If settings key = 2 Then do the math in Inches, Display in Liters If settings key = 3 Then do the math in Centimeters, Display in Liters Etc... Is this possible? Am I thinking of this in the wrong way? What's the best way to do this?

  • How do I update the system wallpaper in an Android 1.6 service after changing it with setWallpaper()

    - by Majakk
So basically the code "almost" works - the problem is that the system does not appear to know that the system wallpaper have been changed or does not do anything about it. Starting and closing another app manually appears to enforce an update. In an event call the following is done: getApplicationContext().setWallpaper(pWallOne); Is there some way of telling the android system to update the graphics or to do some cheap trick that forces it to? Any help or tip would be very much appreciated!!
