• Clever DIY Display Showcases Game Consoles While Concealing Cables

  How do you display all your vintage game consoles while keeping them in a clutter free and ready-to-play state? This wall-mounted display does a great job showing off the retro gear while keeping everything tidy. Courteys of German tinker and gamer Holger, the design of the display is deceptively simple. The wall mount is a basic 2×4 frame wrapped in black roofing batten (similar to the lightweight weed-fabric used in gardens). Screw-in mounts for the LACK shelves are positioned every foot or so going up the frame and a small slit in the fabric allows for hidden routing of the cables. While it looks like the consoles are simply on display, they’re actually all hooked up and ready to play. For more photos of the build, hit up the link below.   Hey its Vegas baby! Brad was stylin. Tim and I were a poor mans Vin Diesel and Tom Cruise. The jacket and shades actually suited Karen. Dan looked like he worked in Vegas. Ward was, well, Ward. Was it the town, the conference, or are we all just wacky developer/designer types? Ward Bell brought along his jacket, shirt and shades and of course we all just had to get into the act. • Internal microphone not working in Google talk

  My laptop is Lenovo T400, which has an internal microphone. My OS is Ubuntu 10.10. My browser is Firefox 11.0. The internal microphone works fine, because I can use it to record my voice using Audaciy. However, in Google talk, I have choose "Internal Audio Analog Stereo" in "Settings - Voice and video chat - Microphone:". But when I click "Verify your settings", it doesn't work. Neither can I speak to others using Google Talk. I wonder why? Thanks and regards!

• Alaska Airlines Takes Off with Siebel Loyalty and Marketing

Alaska Airlines greatly improved their ability to be more personal with their customers by replacing a legacy mainframe loyalty system with Siebel Loyalty and Siebel Marketing. Which means, as an Alaska Airlines customer, I get less junk mail! With improved access to customer profile information in Siebel, Alaska Airlines presents targeted, relevant offers on their website and via email. At the same time, Alaska Airlines has reduced their speed-to-market with promotions by 150 percent and can now implement new partner marketing programs twice as fast. Finally, as Steve Jarvis, VP of Marketing, Sales and Customer Experience at Alaska Airlines, points out in the video, Alaska Airlines can now reach all 22 million of their annual passengers, not just the 10% who were in the legacy loyalty system. • How do I get TV out working on an ATI X800 GTO²?

  Is there any way to make my graphics card (ATI x800) work with tvout? I know there are no proprietary drivers for this card only the opensource ones. • Using IP Restrictions with URL Rewrite-Week 25

  URL Rewrite offers tremendous flexibility for customizing rules to your environment. One area of functionality that is often desired for URL Rewrite is to allow a large list of approved or denied IP addresses and subnet ranges. IIS’s original IP Restrictions is helpful for fully blocking an IP address, but it doesn’t offer the flexibility that URL Rewrite does. An example where URL Rewrite is helpful is where you want to allow only authorized IPs to access staging.yoursite.com, but where staging.yoursite.com is part of the same site as www.yoursite.com. This requires conditional logic for the user’s IP. This lesson covers this unique situation while also introducing Rewrite Maps, server variables, and pairing rules to add more flexibility. • Phillips SAA7139 TV tuner card not working

  When I had windows 7 installed on my computer, My TV tuner card used to work fine after installing the drivers but on ubuntu it is not working. I have tried several Softwares to get it working but none helped. Today I installed Me Tv and when I open it, I get an error saying "There are no DVB devices available". What can I do to get my Philips TV Tuner card working. • Pac-Man Hiding Spot Makes High Scores a Snap

  This interesting bug (feature?) in the original Pac-Man game makes it easy to hide from the ghosts, ensuring a long-lived and well-fed Pac-Man. Check out the video above to see the black hole you can park Pac-Man in to avoid assault by the ghosts. There’s two big caveats with this trick: first, it only works in the original game (spin offs and modern adaptations won’t necessarily have it but the original machine and MAME implementations of it will).
