  • PHP Export Date range

    - by menormedia
    I have a working database export to xls but I need it to export a particular date range based on the 'closed' date. (See code below). For example, I'd like it to export all 'closed' dates for last month and/or this month (Range: Sept 1, 2012 to Sept 30, 2012 or Oct 1, 2012 to Oct 31, 2012) <?PHP //EDIT YOUR MySQL Connection Info: $DB_Server = "localhost"; //your MySQL Server $DB_Username = "root"; //your MySQL User Name $DB_Password = ""; //your MySQL Password $DB_DBName = "ost_helpdesk"; //your MySQL Database Name $DB_TBLName = "ost_ticket"; //your MySQL Table Name //$DB_TBLName, $DB_DBName, may also be commented out & passed to the browser //as parameters in a query string, so that this code may be easily reused for //any MySQL table or any MySQL database on your server //DEFINE SQL QUERY: //edit this to suit your needs $sql = "Select ticketID, name, company, subject, closed from $DB_TBLName ORDER BY closed DESC"; //Optional: print out title to top of Excel or Word file with Timestamp //for when file was generated: //set $Use_Titel = 1 to generate title, 0 not to use title $Use_Title = 1; //define date for title: EDIT this to create the time-format you need $now_date = DATE('m-d-Y'); //define title for .doc or .xls file: EDIT this if you want $title = "MDT Database Dump For Table $DB_TBLName from Database $DB_DBName on $now_date"; /* Leave the connection info below as it is: just edit the above. • incrementing in php

    - by Michael Stevens
    I have a function that works on other pages but on this particular page its not working 100% the piece of code that is failing to work is: $query = "SELECT * FROM rank_punting JOIN rank_player ON rank_player.full_name=rank_punting.name WHERE active='1' AND class='$class' ORDER BY ABS(`rank_punting`.`rank_final`) ASC"; $rank = 0; $lastpct = 0; $db->setQuery($query); $result = $db->query(); if(mysql_num_rows($result) > 0) { while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { if ($row['rank_final'] > $lastpct) { $rank++; $lastpct = $row['rank_final']; } $name = $row['name']; $s1= $row['s1']; $s2= $row['s2']; $s3= $row['s3']; $s4= $row['s4']; $s5= $row['s5']; $s6= $row['s6']; $s7= $row['s7']; $s8= $row['s8']; $s9= $row['s9']; $c1= $row['c1']; $c2= $row['c2']; $c3= $row['c3']; $c4= $row['c4']; $c5= $row['c5']; $c6= $row['c6']; $v1= $row['v1']; $v2= $row['v2']; $comp= $row['comp_rank_final']; $season= $row['season_rank_final']; $final=$row['rank_final']; $link = "website_url"; $link2 = "<a href=\"http://{$link}\" target='_blank'>{$name}<br>Profile Page</a>"; if ($link = ''){$link2 = "<a href='index.php?option=com_ranking&view=playerprofile&player={$name}' >{$name}<br>Profile Page</a>";} echo '<tr>'; echo " <th scope'row'>{$link2} {$lastpct} </th>"; echo "<td>"; echo 'DEBUG: '; echo $row['rank_final']; echo $lastpct;echo "{$rank}</td>"; echo "<td> Competition</td>"; echo "<td> {$comp}</td>"; echo "<td> {$c1}</td>"; echo "<td> {$c2}</td>"; echo "<td> {$c3}</td>"; echo "<td> {$c4}</td>"; echo "<td> {$c5}</td>"; echo "<td> {$c6}</td>"; echo "<td> {$c7}</td>"; echo "<td> {$c8}</td>"; echo "<td> {$v2}</td>"; echo "</tr>"; echo '<tr>'; echo "<th scope'row'> </th>"; echo "<td> </td>"; echo "<td> Game Film</td>"; echo "<td> {$season}</td>"; echo "<td> {$s1}</td>"; echo "<td> {$s2}</td>"; echo "<td> {$s3}</td>"; echo "<td> {$s4}</td>"; echo "<td> {$s5}</td>"; echo "<td> {$s7}</td>"; echo "<td> {$s8}</td>"; echo "<td> {$s6}</td>"; echo "<td> {$v1}</td>"; echo "</tr>"; } } //---------------- echo '</tbody> </table>'; }

  • Is It Possible to Make Close Sourced PHP Product?

    - by Morgan Cheng
    I'm curious that whether all PHP product must be open sourced if it is to be deployed to other's web site. Since PHP code is executed by interpretation, if I have PHP product to be deployed on other's host, it seems no reason to prevent others view the source code. So, PHP product is destined to be open source, right?

  • SQL-How to retrieve the correct data using php

    - by Programatt
    I am new to SQL so please excuse my question if it is simple. I have a database with a few tables. 1 is a users table, the others are application tables that contain the users preferences for receiving notifications about that application based on the country they are interested in. What I want to do, is retrieve the e-mail address of all users that have an interest in that country. I am struggling to think about how to do this. I currently have the following query constructed, and the code to populate the values function check($string) { if (isset($_POST[$string])) { $print = implode(', ', $_POST[$string]); //Converts an array into a single string $imanageSQLArr = Array(); if (substr_count($print,'Benelux') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[0] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[0] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'France') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[1] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[1] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Germany') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[2] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[2] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Italy') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[3] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[3] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Netherlands') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[4] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[4] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Portugal') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[5] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[5] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Spain') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[6] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[6] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Sweden') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[7] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[7] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'Switzerland') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[8] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[8] = "off"; } if (substr_count($print, 'UK') > 0) { $imanageSQLArr[9] = "checked"; } else { $imanageSQLArr[9] = "off"; } and the query $tocheck = $db->prepare( "SELECT users.email FROM users,app WHERE users.id=app.userid AND BENELUX=:BENELUX AND FRANCE=:FRANCE AND GERMANY=:GERMANY AND ITALY=:ITALY AND NETHERLANDS=:NETHERLANDS AND PORTUGAL=:PORTUGAL AND SPAIN=:SPAIN AND SWEDEN=:SWEDEN AND SWITZERLAND=:SWITZERLAND AND UK=:UK"); $tocheck->execute($country); $row = $tocheck->fetchAll(); This does retrieve data, but only people who's preferences match EXACTLY what is put (so what they haven't selected is taken into account as much as what they have). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Switching from PHP to Ruby - is it the answer to performance?

    - by Industrial
    Hi everyone, I get more often the answer, when asking performance related stuff regarding PHP applications, that PHP really isn't the language for high-performance applications, and that a compiled language really is the way to go. The only thing holding me back to PHP is that it's what I have learned to work with for some while now and the development is quite rapid. So, is PHP a thing of the past and should be put aside in web applications in favour of Ruby, for instance? Thanks

  • Calendar Day View in PHP

    - by JamesArmes
    I'm working on adding a day view option to an existing calendar solution. Like many people implementing their own calendars, I am trying to model Google Calendars. They have an excellent calendar solution and their day view provides a lot of flexibility. For most part, the implementation is going well; however, I'm having issues when it comes to conflicting events. Essentially, I want the events to share the same space, side by side. Events that start at the same time should have the longest event first. In the example data set I'm working with, I have four events: A: 10:30 - 11:30 B: 13:30 - 14:30 C: 10:30 - 11:00 D: 10:45 - 14:00 I can handle A, C, and D just fine, the problem comes with D. A should be left of C which should be left of D; each taking one third of the width (it's fixed width so I can do simple math to figure that out). The problem is that B should be under A and C, to the left of D. Ideally, B would take up the same amount of space as A and C (two thirds width), but I would even settle for it only taking up only one third width. My array of events looks similar to the following: $events = array( '1030' => array( 'uniqueID1' => array( 'start_time' => '1030', 'end_time' => '1130', ), 'uniqueID2' => array( 'start_time' => '1030', 'end_time' => '1100', ), ), '1045' => array( 'uniqueID3' => array( 'start_time' => '1045', 'end_time' => '1400', ), ), '1330' => array( 'uniqueID3' => array( 'start_time' => '1330', 'end_time' => '1430', ), ), ); My plan is to add some indexes to each event that include how many events it conflicts with (so I can calculate the width) and which position in that series it should be (so I can calculate the left value). However, that doesn't help the B. I'm thinking I might need an algorithm that uses some basic geometry and matrices, but I'm not sure where to begin. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • How do I make non-framework code to framework code? (PHP)

    - by ggfan
    I just started using CakePHP and it's very different from just normal procedural or basic OOP PHP. I am still learning PHP and still read "beginning PHP/mysql" books that teaches you basic PHP. Also lots of sites online provide code that isn't for a framework. Is the only way to make non-framework code to say a framework, say cakePHP, by learning cakePHP thoroughly than rewriting the code yourself to fit the MVC model?

  • PHP Array issue - not looping through foreach...

    - by Homer_J
    Ok, Here is the code: function fetch_questions($page) { global $link; $proc = mysqli_prepare($link, "SELECT * FROM tquestions_cwh WHERE page = ?"); mysqli_stmt_bind_param($proc, "i", $page); mysqli_stmt_execute($proc); $rows = array(); stmt_bind_assoc($proc, $rowq); // loop through all result rows while ($proc->fetch()) { // print_r($rowq); $rows[]=$rowq; } mysqli_stmt_close($proc); mysqli_clean_connection($link); return($rows); } I then add this to a php variable, like so: $qs = fetch_questions($page); I then loop through is, like so: foreach($qs as $value){ echo "<tr>".$value['qnum']." is the questions number and the question text is ".$value['qtext'].". The page and q values are ".$value['page']." and ".$value['questions']." respectively.</tr>"; The output, however is this: 8 is the questions number and the question text is I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives. The page and q values are 1 and q8 respectively.8 is the questions number and the question text is I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives. The page and q values are 1 and q8 respectively.8 is the questions number and the question text is I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives. The page and q values are 1 and q8 respectively.8 is the questions number and the question text is I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives. The page and q values are 1 and q8 respectively.8 is the questions number and the question text is I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives. The page and q values are 1 and q8 respectively. Which is not what I want, for information purposes, the array using the print function looks like this: Array ( [0] => Array ( [questions] => q8 [qnum] => 8 [qtext] => I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives [page] => 1 ) [1] => Array ( [questions] => q8 [qnum] => 8 [qtext] => I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives [page] => 1 ) [2] => Array ( [questions] => q8 [qnum] => 8 [qtext] => I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives [page] => 1 ) [3] => Array ( [questions] => q8 [qnum] => 8 [qtext] => I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives [page] => 1 ) [4] => Array ( [questions] => q8 [qnum] => 8 [qtext] => I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives [page] => 1 ) [5] => Array ( [questions] => q8 [qnum] => 8 [qtext] => I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives [page] => 1 ) [6] => Array ( [questions] => q8 [qnum] => 8 [qtext] => I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives [page] => 1 ) [7] => Array ( [questions] => q8 [qnum] => 8 [qtext] => I know how what I do fits into my team's objectives [page] => 1 ) ) Clearly it's not looping through and displaying each row as it should...any advice? Homer.

  • php: parsing and converting array structure

    - by mwb
    I need to convert one array structure into another array structure. I hope someone will find it worthy their time to show how this could be done in a simple manner. It's a little above my array manipulation skills. The structure we start out with looks like this: $cssoptions = array( array( 'group' => 'Measurements' , 'selector' => '#content' , 'rule' => 'width' , 'value' => '200px' ) // end data set , array( 'group' => 'Measurements' , 'selector' => '#content' , 'rule' => 'margin-right' , 'value' => '20px' ) // end data set , array( 'group' => 'Colors' , 'selector' => '#content' , 'rule' => 'color' , 'value' => '#444' ) // end data set , array( 'group' => 'Measurements' , 'selector' => '.sidebar' , 'rule' => 'margin-top' , 'value' => '10px' ) // end data set ); // END $cssoptions It's a collection of discreet datasets, each consisting of an array that holds two key = value pairs describing a 'css-rule' and a 'css-rule-value'. Further, each dataset holds a key = value pair describing the 'css-selector-group' that the 'css-rule' should blong to, and a key = value pair describing a 'rule-group' that should be used for structuring the rendering of the final css into a neat css code block arranged by the kind of properties they describe (colors, measurement, typography etc..) Now, I need to parse that, and turn it into a new structure, where the: 'rule' => 'rule-name' , 'value' => 'value-string' for each dataset is converted into: 'rule-name' => 'value-string' ..and then placed into a new array structure where all 'rule-name' = 'value-string' pairs should be aggregated under the respective 'selector-values' Like this: '#content' => array( 'width' => '200px' , 'margin-right' => '20px' ) // end selecor block ..and finally all those blocks should be grouped under their respective 'style-groups', creating a final resulting array structure like this: $css => array( 'Measurements' => array( '#content' => array( 'width' => '200px' , 'margin-right' => '20px' ) // end selecor block , '.sidebar' => array( 'margin-top' => '10px' ) // end selector block ) // end rule group , 'Colors' => array( '#content' => array( 'color' => '#444' ) // end selector block ) // end rule group ); // end css

  • PHP/MySQL Interview - How would you have answered?

    - by martincarlin87
    I was asked this interview question so thought I would post it here to see how other users would answer: Please write some code which connects to a MySQL database (any host/user/pass), retrieves the current date & time from the database, compares it to the current date & time on the local server (i.e. where the application is running), and reports on the difference. The reporting aspect should be a simple HTML page, so that in theory this script can be put on a web server, set to point to a particular database server, and it would tell us whether the two servers’ times are in sync (or close to being in sync). This is what I put: // Connect to database server $dbhost = 'localhost'; $dbuser = 'xxx'; $dbpass = 'xxx'; $dbname = 'xxx'; $conn = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die (mysql_error()); // Select database mysql_select_db($dbname) or die(mysql_error()); // Retrieve the current time from the database server $sql = 'SELECT NOW() AS db_server_time'; // Execute the query $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); // Since query has now completed, get the time of the web server $php_server_time = date("Y-m-d h:m:s"); // Store query results in an array $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); // Retrieve time result from the array $db_server_time = $row['db_server_time']; echo $db_server_time . '<br />'; echo $php_server_time; if ($php_server_time != $db_server_time) { // Server times are not identical echo '<p>Database server and web server are not in sync!</p>'; // Convert the time stamps into seconds since 01/01/1970 $php_seconds = strtotime($php_server_time); $sql_seconds = strtotime($db_server_time); // Subtract smaller number from biggest number to avoid getting a negative result if ($php_seconds > $sql_seconds) { $time_difference = $php_seconds - $sql_seconds; } else { $time_difference = $sql_seconds - $php_seconds; } // convert the time difference in seconds to a formatted string displaying hours, minutes and seconds $nice_time_difference = gmdate("H:i:s", $time_difference); echo '<p>Time difference between the servers is ' . $nice_time_difference; } else { // Timestamps are exactly the same echo '<p>Database server and web server are in sync with each other!</p>'; } Yes, I know that I have used the deprecated mysql_* functions but that aside, how would you have answered, i.e. what changes would you make and why? Are there any factors I have omitted which I should take into consideration? The interesting thing is that my results always seem to be an exact number of minutes apart when executed on my hosting account: 2012-12-06 11:47:07 2012-12-06 11:12:07

  • What is the best way to include a php file as a template?

    - by Jon
    I have simple template that's html mostly and then pulls some stuff out of SQL via PHP and I want to include this template in three different spots of another php file. What is the best way to do this? Can I include it and then print the contents? Example of template: Price: <?php echo $price ?> and, for example, I have another php file that will show the template file only if the date is more than two days after a date in SQL.
