• How do I set a Group Policy's Password Policy in C#

  I am trying to retrieve a group policy from a Windows Server 2008 Active Directory and change the minimum password age, maximum password age, and minimum password length in a C# application. Is there a way to do this? So far I have only found out how to create new Group Policy objects using Interop.GPMGMTLib (gpmgmt.dll), yet I haven't figured out how to change the policy's password rules and I am not sure if there is an easier way.

• Image map popup on rollover, with popup text drawn from database

  I have a custom map of the USA with about 20 polygonal hot spots. I would like a box to pop up next to each hot spot on hover, with text and links drawn from my DB specific to the location. I would have thought this is a common situation, but I can't find a solution that works. I tried using an asp:imagemap and an ajax popup extender but you can't assign IDs to hotspots and it doesn't support mouseover events. I tried css with an html image map but I can't figure out how to use css solutions with polygonal hot spots, and I also don't know how to link it to get the data from the db without asp targets (I'm not very familiar with jquery, which would work, I am guessing). Anyone know of any simple-ish solutions out there?

• Jqgrid: navigation based on the selected row

  Hello, I was trying to enable navigation based on a selected row. • EF4 - possible to mock ObjectContext for unit testing?

  Can it be done without using TypeMock Islolator? I've found a few suggestions online such as passing in a metadata only connection string, however nothing I've come across besides TypeMock seems to truly allow for a mock ObjectContext that can be injected into services for unit testing. Do I plunk down the $$ for TypeMock, or are there alternatives? Has nobody managed to create anything comparable to TypeMock that is open source?

• Configuring multiple distinct WCF binding configurations causes an exception to be thrown

  I have a set of IIS7-hosted net.tcp WCF services that serve my ASP.NET MVC web application. The web application is accessed over the internet. WCF Services (IIS7) <--> ASP.NET MVC Application <--> Client Browser The services are username authenticated, the account that a client (of my web application) uses to logon ends up as the current principal on the host. I want one of the services to be authenticated differently, because it serves the view model for my logon view. When it's called, the client is obviously not logged on yet. I figure Windows authentication serves best or perhaps just certificate based security (which in fact I should use for the authenticated services as well) if the services are hosted on a machine that is not in the same domain as the web application. That's not the point here though. Using multiple TCP bindings is what's giving me trouble. I tried setting it up like this: <bindings> <netTcpBinding> <binding> <security mode="TransportWithMessageCredential"> <message clientCredentialType="UserName"/> </security> </binding> <binding name="public"> <security mode="Transport"> <message clientCredentialType="Windows"/> </security> </binding> </netTcpBinding> </bindings> The thing is that both bindings don't seem to want live together in my host. When I remove either of them, all's fine but together they produce the following exception on the client: The requested upgrade is not supported by 'net.tcp://localhost:8081/Service2.svc'. This could be due to mismatched bindings (for example security enabled on the client and not on the server). In the server trace log, I find the following exception: Protocol Type application/negotiate was sent to a service that does not support that type of upgrade. Am I looking into the right direction or is there a better way to solve this?

  I'm new to WPF 3D, so I may just be missing something obvious, but how do I convert from 3D to 2D and (for a given z location) from 2D to 3D? Specifically, I need two conversion methods: Point3DToPoint - If I have an (x, y, z) coordinate in the 3D world, how do I determine the (x, y) coordinate on the projected 2D surface. Method signature: public Point Point3DToPoint(Point3D point3D) PointAndZToPoint3D - If I have an (x, y) coordinate on the projected 2D surface and a z location in the 3D world, how do I determine the intersecting (x, y, z) coordinate in the 3D world? Method signature: public Point3D PointAndZToPoint3D(Point point, double z) I'd like the 2D coordinate to be the location measured from the upper-left corner of Viewport3D and the 3D coordinate to be the location relative to the origin (0, 0, 0) of the 3D world. Note 1: I found this related question, but it only addresses conversion from 3D to 2D (not the reverse), and I'm not sure if the answers are up-to-date. Note 2: I'm currently using .NET 3.5, but if there are improvements in .NET 4.0 that would help me, please let me know.

• WPF - Binding an ObservableCollection Dependency Property within a UserControl

  I have a control class DragGrid : Grid { ... } which inherits from the original grid and enables dragging and resizing its child elements. I need to bind a custom DP named WorkItemsProperty to an observable collection of type WorkItem (implements INotifyPropertyChanged). Each element in the grid is bound to a collection item. Whenever the user adds a new item dynamically at runtime (the items cannot be declared in XAML!), or deletes an item from that collection, the WorkItems DP on the DragGrid should be updated, and the children in the grid (where each child represents a WorkItem collection item). My question is how does the DP notify the control about which child element in the grid must be removed, changed ('change' means user dragged an element, or resized it with the mouse) or added, and how would I identify which one of the existing children is the one that needs to be deleted or changed. I understand that this is where the DependencyPropertyChangedCallback comes in. But that only gets called when the DP property is set anew, not when something inside the collection changes (like add, remove item). So in the end, does the DragGrid control somehow need to subscribe to the CollectionChanged event? At what point would I hook up the event handler for that?

• ASP.NET TextBox TextChanged event not firing in custom EditorPart

  This is a classic sort of question, I suppose, but it seems that most people are interested in having the textbox cause a postback. I'm not. I just want the event to fire when a postback occurs. I have created a webpart with a custom editorpart. The editorpart renders with a textbox and a button. Clicking the button causes a dialog to open. When the dialog is closed, it sets the value of the textbox via javascript and then does __doPostBack using the ClientID of the editorpart. The postback happens, but the TextChanged event never fires, and I'm not sure if it's a problem with the way __doPostBack is invoked, or if it's because of the way I'm setting up the event handler, or something else.   Hello, So I need your help please! I've created a UITableViewController: ContactDetailViewController. In IB in the nib file, I've added a view ahead of the table view and hooked it up to headerView - a UIView declared in the .h file.   I have wsdl from third party server. Method that i'm interested in returns XmlNode. My thought was wrap web methods and use XmlSerializer to return strongly typed objects. Returned xml looks like this (i removed soap headers): <Response xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:type="ResponseExt" xmlns="http://www.thirdparty.com/lr/"> <Code>0</Code> <Message>SUCCESS</Message> <SessionId>session_token</SessionId> </Response> Looked simple. Created a class: [XmlRoot("Response")] public class MyClass { public string Code {get; set;} public string Message {get; set;} public string SessionId {get; set;} } Processing time: //XmlNode node = xml from above XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(MyClass)); XmlNodeReader reader = new XmlNodeReader(node); Myclass myclass = serializer.Deserialize(reader) as MyClass Last line is where it blows up with inner exception message: The specified type was not recognized: name='ResponseExt', namespace='http://www.thirdparty.com/lr/', at . • Python: nonblocking read from stdout of threaded subprocess

  I have a script (worker.py) that prints unbuffered output in the form... 1 2 3 . . . n where n is some constant number of iterations a loop in this script will make. In another script (service_controller.py) I start a number of threads, each of which starts a subprocess using subprocess.Popen(stdout=subprocess.PIPE, ...); Now, in my main thread (service_controller.py) I want to read the output of each thread's worker.py subprocess and use it to calculate an estimate for the time remaining till completion. I have all of the logic working that reads the stdout from worker.py and determines the last printed number. The problem is that I can not figure out how to do this in a non-blocking way. If I read a constant bufsize then each read will end up waiting for the same data from each of the workers. I have tried numerous ways including using fcntl, select + os.read, etc. What is my best option here? I can post my source if needed, but I figured the explanation describes the problem well enough.   I am having a problem with PayPal IPN response. After payment is made by the customer, PayPal IPN returns this URL: www.mywebsite.com?orderid=32&tx=2AC67201DL3533325&st=Pending&amt=2.50&cc=USD&cm=&item_number=32 There are a couple of issues Post-back field names are undefined or missing. Thus I can get the INVALID message. I am not sure if my website does not read POST variables. When I looked at IPN history, it shows that each IPN has been sent with the complete url. Payment status keeps coming Pending. Does this issue cause the first issue? Thank you for your responses in advance. • How do I surpress maven assembly plugin skipping files that are already added? Or allow overwrite?

  Hello, For weeks, I've been wrestling with maven, getting it to deploy our project "properly." I'm almost done but I have one stubborn little problem: When I use the maven assembly plugin with the "directory" goal as in mvn assembly:directory I get LOTS of console output like the following: [INFO] tomcat/conf already added, skipping  [INFO] tomcat/conf/Catalina already added, skipping  [INFO] tomcat/conf/Catalina/localhost already added, skipping  [INFO] tomcat/webapps already added, skipping I've written my own assembly descriptor that basically copies several FileSets into various sub-directories within our deploy directory. Messages like the ones above appear whenever a file from one FileSet is being copied to a location in which another FileSet has already created the basic directory structure (and some "default" files that can be overwritten). So, I'm having a hard time figuring out: How do I either 1) Suppress these messages (but only the "already added" messages) or 2) allow for overwrite?

So my questions are: How do I select count of rows against foreign key column? Is primary key required in this scenario? I have several things but not sure why its not working. To me it looks like a very normal use case. Please advise. Thanks AJ

  Made a new project, added main.cpp and wrote the code at this URL: http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_43_0/doc/html/boost_asio/example/echo/async_tcp_echo_server.cpp Also, added the appropriate include path. What's next?!?!! It seems like a darn mystery to build a boost code! Been digging on it for more than 10 hours. Can anyone give a straightforward answer on how to build the boost library from the code under windows, VC9? God bless you all.

• How to implement a custom AlertDialog View

  In the Android docs on AlertDialog, it gives the following instruction and example for setting a custom view in an AlertDialog: If you want to display a more complex view, look up the FrameLayout called "body" and add your view to it: FrameLayout fl = (FrameLayout) findViewById(R.id.body); fl.add(myView, new LayoutParams(FILL_PARENT, WRAP_CONTENT)); First off, it's pretty obvious that add() is a typo and is meant to be addView(). I'm confused by the first line using R.id.body. It seems that it's the body element of the AlertDialog ... but I can't just enter that in my code b/c it gives a compile error. Where does R.id.body get defined or assigned or whatever?
