  • How to create "floating TextViews" in Android?

    Hi stackies, I'm programmatically putting various TextViews into a LinearLayout with a horizontal orientation. After 2h of research I couldn't find out how to tell Android not to squeeze all the TextViews in one line but instead to "float" non-fitting TextViews into the next line. I know there isn't something like actual "lines" in a LinearLayout, but how can I tell the TextViews to actually behave like floating DIVs from the HTML world? Thanks alot! Be well S.

    I have just started learning programming and I would like to make a script into a chrome extension. Its a basic script and I hope to practice more and more and develop bigger projects and set myself bigger tasks This script has to do the following : reload a page every 20 seconds (say google.com) after 6 months the script must not run (maybe prompt a window saying "its over 6 months") The code should be able to go into a small chrome extension and also the 6 month time period should be absolute not relative to the time the script was started; for example should the browser crash and i have to turn on the extension again it should not restart the 6 month counter. Also if anyone could recommend any good sources for JavaScript to learn (preferably books; nothingIi read online ever seems to stick)

    Good day, I have like 15 images I need to be buttons. I have buttons working with a Box() (Box - looks like this) class Box(pygame.sprite.Sprite): def __init__(self): pygame.sprite.Sprite.__init__(self) self.image = pygame.Surface((35, 30)) self.image = self.image.convert() self.image.fill((255, 0, 0)) self.rect = self.image.get_rect() self.rect.centerx = 25 self.rect.centery = 505 self.dx = 10 self.dy = 10 I am trying to make the buttons work with image sprites. So I attempted to copy the class style of the box and do the same for my Icons.. code looks like this... class Icons(pygame.sprite.Sprite): def __init__(self): pygame.sprite.Sprite.__init__(self) self.image = pygame.image.load("images/airbrushIC.gif").convert() self.rect = self.image.get_rect() self.rect.x = 25 self.rect.y = 550 the code in the main() rect = image.get_rect() rect.x = 25 rect.y = 550 ic1 = Icons((screen.get_rect().x, screen.get_rect().y)) screen.blit(ic1.image, ic1.rect) pygame.display.update() This code produces a positional (accepts 1 argument but 2 are there) error or an image is not referenced error (inside the Icon class). I'm unsure if this is the right way to go about this anyways.. I know for sure that I need to load all the images (as sprites)... store them in an array... and then have my mouse check if it is clicking one of the items in the array using a for loop. Thanks. Its not loading both. Obviously because its being overwritten by the second one. It seems that "class" for this purpose isn't what I need. Which begs the question how I make sprites outside of a class.. If there is a way to make the class work please let me know.

    This is my Very first Post! Bear with me. I have an Update Statement that I am trying to understand how SQL Server handles it. UPDATE a SET a.vField3 = b.vField3 FROM tableName a INNER JOIN tableName b ON a.vField1 = b.vField1 AND b.nField2 = a.nField2 – 1 This is my query in its simplest form. vField1 is a Varchar nField2 is an int (autonumber) vField3 is a Varchar I have left the WHERE clause out so understand there is logic that otherwise makes this a nessessity. Say vField1 is a Customer Number and that Customer has 3 records The value in nField2 is 1, 2, and 3 consecutively. vField3 is a Status When the Update comes to a.nField2 = 1 there is no a.nField2 -1 so it continues When the Update comes to a.nField2 = 2, b.nField2 = 1 When the Update comes to a.nField2 = 3, b.nField2 = 2 So when the Update is on a.nField2 = 2, alias b reflects what is on the line prior (b.nField2 = 1) And it SETs the Varchar Value of a.vField3 = b.vField3 When the Update is on a.nField2 = 3, alias b reflects what is on the line prior (b.nField2 = 2) And it (should) SET the Varchar Value of a.vField3 = b.vField3 When the process is complete –the Second of three records looks as expected –hence the value in vField3 of the second record reflects the value in vField3 from the First record However, vField3 of the Third record does not reflect the value in vField3 from the Second record. I think this demonstrates that SQL Server may be producing a transaction of some sort and then an update. Question: How can I get the DB to Update after each transaction so I can reference the values generated by each transaction?

It appears that the buttons are navigating based on history?...but I just want a straight forward or backward movement...I don't want my buttons to have this browser-type functionality...If I'm on listItem4 and hit the next button, I want it to go to listItem5. Person2 Person3 And i would like the package to put this information in a database with standard columns 'Person', 'Day', 'Value'. Does anybody know how to do this - at the moment because the days are going along the top, the package is assuming these are seperate data columns when they are not really and the mapping is not working.

    Hello, gcc 4.4.4 c89 I am writing a client/server application. I have finished and now I want to implement some logging feature that will display log messages on the screen as well as log to a file. However, I don't want to display all log messages (warning, error, critical, unrecoverable, debug, etc). Maybe I can set so that it will display, just errors and debug messages and nothing else. For example, the user might not be interested in the debug messages. Is there any design-pattern that I can follow? What do you normally for for logging? These tables are defined as follows: Customer -------- ID, First Name, Last Name Order ----- ID, CustomerID, Date, Description I am trying to write a query that returns all of the customers in my database. If the user has placed at least one order, I want to return the information associated with the most recent order placed. Currently, I have the following: SELECT * FROM Customer c LEFT OUTER JOIN Order o ON c.[ID]=o.[CustomerID] As you can imagine, this will return all of the orders associated with a customer. In reality though, I only want the most recent one. How do I do this in SQL? Thank you!
