    Hiho, currently I have a working popup menu which appears when I click on a treeview item. But I want to show different popups for different tree view entries. I don't get a idea how to do so...     The pattern is "dd-MM-yyyy" I think the string "01-01-2010mwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" does not satisfy the pattern, but the following code shows the contrary.   • Java URLConnection Timeout

    I am trying to parse an XML file from an HTTP URL. I want to configure a timeout of 15 seconds if the XML fetch takes longer than that, I want to report a timeout. For some reason, the setConnectTimeout and setReadTimeout do not work. Here's the code: URL url = new URL("http://www.myurl.com/sample.xml"); URLConnection urlConn = url.openConnection(); urlConn.setConnectTimeout(15000); urlConn.setReadTimeout(15000); urlConn.setAllowUserInteraction(false); urlConn.setDoOutput(true); InputStream inStream = urlConn.getInputStream(); InputSource input = new InputSource(inStream); And I am catching the SocketTimeoutException.   • Multiple consecutive alerts in Java ME

    According to the documentation, Display.setCurrent doesn't work if the current displayable is an alert. Does anyone know how to work around this so that we can go from one alert to another? I am using CLDC 1.0 and MIDP 2.0. My attempt The spec does allow us to edit an alert while it is on screen, but some Nokia phones don't handle it well at all. So I am now trying to go from the alert to a canvas, then back to the alert. Of course I don't want the user to interact with the previous canvas, so it seems that I am forced to create a new blank canvas. As a sidenote, this has the slight disadvantage of looking worse on phones which still have the previous screen when an alert is shown. The bigger problem is how to transition from the blank canvas back to an alert once the canvas is loaded. Testing on the Motorola emulator revealed that showNotify is not called after returning from an alert to the previous screen. I guess I could create the next alert in the paint method, but this seems like a ugly hack.

    I am maintaining this servlet that has a HttpServletResponse response that replies back to the client an XML message. I want to take the XML message and convert it to JSON, then send the JSON back. I want to avoid writing my own JSON converter if possible. Does anyone have a good method of doing this? I googled for this: http://pvoss.wordpress.com/2009/02/26/servlet-filter-to-convert-xml-to-json/ , which is exactly what I want but they are using a hacked dom4j jar which doesn't help me.

    I have an Android application which grabs some data from an external XML source. I've stripped out some HTML from one of the XML elements, but it's in the format: <p class="x">Some text...</p> <p>Some more text</p> <p>Some final text</p> I want to extract the middle paragraph text, how can I do this? Would a regular expression be the best way? I don't really want to start including external HTML parsing libraries.

  • Ideal Java library for cleaning html, and escaping malformed fragments

    I've got some HTML files that need to be parsed and cleaned, and they occasionally have content with special characters like <, , ", etc. which have not been properly escaped. I have tried running the files through jTidy, but the best I can get it to do is just omit the content it sees as malformed html. Is there a different library that will just escape the malformed fragments instead of omitting them? If not, any recommendations on what library would be easiest to modify? Clarification: Sample input: <p> blah blah <M+1> blah </p> Desired output: <p> blah blah &lt;M+1&gt; blah </p>

    I have a program where I am generating two double numbers by adding several input prices from a file based on a condition. The way one and two are getting calculated exactly same. Then why the output format is like this. What I am expecting is: One: 2773554.02 Two: 63025058.36 Why the printing is in two different formats ? I want to write the outputs again to a file and thus there must be only two digits after decimal.
