• Android ScrollView issue

  Guys, We are trying to make a board with sticky notes. We have used ScrollView in which we have LinearLayout. We have four columns. If there are more than 3 notes in one column, scrollview comes up. Issue is, if I try to move Row 5 column 1 note to Row 1 Column 2, scroll views hides all the notes. If we scroll to top of the board, notes become visible again. Any idea what's the issue ? Thanks Salman

  Is there an API that allows you to define the maximum number of OpenAL "sources" allowed by the underlying sound hardware? Searching the internet, I found 2 recommendations : keep generating OpenAL sources till you get an error. However, there is a note in FreeSL (OpenAL wrapper) stating that this is "very bad and may even crash the library" assume you only have 16; why would anyone ever require more? (!) The second recommendation is even adopted by FreeSL. So, is there a common API to define the number of simultaneous "voices" supported? Thank you for your time, Bill

  I have a class that defined a user defined operator for a TCHAR*, like so CMyClass::operator const TCHAR*() const { // returns text as const TCHAR* } I want to be able to do something like CMyClass myClass; _tprintf(_T("%s"), myClass); or even _tprintf(_T("%s"), CMyClass(value)); But when trying, printf always prints (null) instead of the value. I have also tried a normal char* operator, as well variations with const etc. It only works correctly if I explicitly call the operator or do a cast, like _tprintf(_T("%s\n"), (const TCHAR*)myClass); _tprintf(_T("%s\n"), myClass.operator const TCHAR *()); However, I don't want to cast. How can this be achieved? Note, that a possibility is to create a function that has a parameter of const TCHAR*, so that it forcible calls the operator TCHAR*, but this I also don't want to implement.

• Add/remove UILocalNotification based on changes in my settings bundle

  I have an app that sends a notification at the same time everyday, reminding the user to enter data into it. However, I want to give the user teh option to disable this as this could get very annoying, so I have an "Enable alerts" in a custom settings bundle. My question is, when the user toggles the switch in the settings bundle, can I add/remove the notifications that are already scheduled without having to enter the app again? note: I'm building and supporting for iOS 4.2.1, and I don't konw why but under "notifications" in the settings app, my app does not appear. I see it on ios 5.x devices though

• Is it safe to catch an access violation in this scenario?

  I've read a lot, including here on SO that suggests this is a very bad idea in general and that the only thing you can do safely is exit the program. I'm not sure that this is true. This is for a pooling memory allocator that hands off large allocations to malloc. During pool_free() a pointer needs to be checked it it belongs to a pool or was allocated with malloc. By rounding the address down to the nearest 1MB boundary, I get a pointer to the beginning of a block of memory in the pool, or undefined if malloc was used. In the first case I can easily verify that the block of memory belongs to the pool, but, if it does not I will either fail this verification, or I will get an access violation (note that this is a read-only process). Could I not catch this with SEH (Windows) or handle the signal (POSIX) and simply treat it as a failed verification? (i.e. this is only possible if malloc was used, so pass the ptr to free())

  I am trying to redirect /folder to / using .htaccess but all am I getting is the Apache HTTP Server Test Page. My root directory looks like this: / .htaccess -/folder -/folder2 -/folder3 My .htaccess looks like this: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/folder/ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ folder/$1 [L] What am I doing wrong? I checked my httpd.conf (I'm running Centos 5.3) and the mod_rewrite library is being loaded. As a side note, my server is not a www server, its simply a virtual machine so its hostname is centosvm. Addition: I have found that the mod_rewrite module is loaded, but none of my .htaccess redirects seem to be working.

  In Applescript, if you declare a handler using "with" labeled parameters, local variables get the values of the arguments and the parameters themselves are undefined. For example: on bam of thing with frst and scnd local eat_frst return {thing: thing, frst:frst, scnd:scnd} -- this line throws an error end bam bam of "bug-AWWK!" with frst without scnd results in an error message that "scnd" isn't defined in the second line of bam. thing and frst are both defined, getting the arguments passed in the call to bam. Why is this happening? Why is scnd undefined? Note: I know that declaring variables as "local" within a handler is unnecessary. It's done in the examples for illustrative purposes.

  I have created a web service with JAX-WS. When the input SOAP message is not well formed or can not be validated, a soap fault is returned automatically to the caller. I dont want the caller to receive this standard SOAP message but i want to create an own custom SOAP fault.   I have two AccessDataSources each returning one row. I want to use the data in each row to populate content on my page, so I figured I would use a Repeater or FormView. However, I would not necessarily want the labels bound to a particular DataSource placed together. For example, I might want labels from the following columns in order (DataSourceName.ColumnName): TestSetup.TestType, TestSummary.FormattedValue, TestSetup.DeviceChannel, TestSummary.CompletedOn. How do I handle this? Do I just have a separate Repeater/FormView for each value? Can I have both Repeater's/FormView's in 'scope' at the same time? Note: No language preference (C#/VB).

  Hello, I have to install two libraries CGNS to use it in Fortan, but I don't understand how, the basic instructions are: To compile under MS Windows: configure.bat [options] then gmake if using GNU make, or nmake if using nmake. NOTE: This assumes that the cl compiler is in your path, and that the INCLUDE and LIB environment variables are set to include the directories containing the MSC include files and libraries. If not, you will need to use full path names to cl and link, and define INCLUDE and LIB in make.win32. You may also execute VCVARS32.BAT in the BIN directory of your VC installation to set these up prior to running nmake. so what i did was to: tape configure.bat it creates the rights files I set the news paths and lib, include for the cl.exe and link.exe but now the warning and error messages are about the clui.dll. cl -nologo -I. -Iadf -FoWIN32\cgns_error.obj -c cgns_error.c Cannot load language resource clui.dll what can i do now?   Hi, I have 3 tables (Student, Course, student_course_choose(have field grade)) I defined a view on these 3 tables that get me an Average of the each student. I want to have constraint(with trigger) on these view(or on the table that need it) to limit the average of each student between 13 and 18. I somewhere read that I must use foreach statement(instead of foreach row) on trigger because when I decrease some grade of special student and his/her average become less than 13 they don't give me error (because later I increase grade of another his/her course ). how must I wrote this Trigger? (I want to implement aprh for testing trigger) note:I can write it in SQL server, oracle or Mysql no diff for me.

• Program crashes in debugger before anything happens

  I'm building an application for Windows XP using the MinGW tool chain and it sometimes crashes unexpectedly. So, I'm trying to use a debugger (Gdb) but the program exits with code 03 before anything happens. In fact, all I see from GDB is: [New thread 3184.0x7b8][New thread 3184.0xef8] Program exited with code 03. My suspicion is that there is some failed dynamic linking of a dependency (which are Qt, VTK, and ITK, all built with MinGW). However, this does not happen when I just run the program normally. Or if it happens, it appears to be intermittent and well after the program is launched and running. NOTE: I'm also using Cmake for cross compiling. What should I do? What can I try?

  When I try to write an AT command to my GSM modem, it does not seem to take the command. I have used PuTTY to check that the command words, it does. I have checked to see if the port is opening, it does. What could I possibly be doing wrong? • Getting ssh to execute a command in the background on target machine

  This is a follow-on question to the How do you use ssh in a shell script? question. If I want to execute a command on the remote machine that runs in the background on that machine, how do I get the ssh command to return? When I try to just include the ampersand (&) at the end of the command it just hangs. The exact form of the command looks like this: ssh user@target "cd /some/directory; program-to-execute &" Any ideas? One thing to note is that logins to the the target machine always produce a text banner and I have ssh keys set up so no password is required.

• Kohana 3 and CRON always accessing index.php (not following the URI argument)

  OK, I hope this is my last question about CRON jobs and Kohana 3. Note: others are not duplicates, just other problems. Here is my CRON job (setup in cPanel) php /home/user/public_html/index.php --uri=properties/update As per this answer. I have set it up so it emails me the output. It is running every 5 mins. Unfortunately, it always emails me the source of the home page of my site (index.php or /). I can access that URL fine in my browser, i.e. http://www.example.com/properties/update and it works and does it's job correctly. I can tell the Cron is never hitting the script because I have a file logger in place. Would this have anything to do with .htaccess? Has this happened to anyone before, and how did they fix it? The result of the get function appears to be successful because the value of textStatus (in the following code block) is "success".   The short of it is: Is it costly to check an Application Variable such as Application("WebAppName") more 10-20 times each time a page loads? Background: (feel free to critique) Some includes in my site contain many links and images which cannot use relative urls due to their inclusion in different paths. Hence these includes contain frequent instances of <img src="<%=Application("Webroot")%>images\image.gif"> Is it expensive to keep calling an Application variable like this? Should I just put the Application value in some local variable to use where needed? IMPORTANT NOTE: I need my webapp to run fine on a server whether it be in the root web ("/") or in a virtual subweb ("/app"). Thanks in advance for any wisdom shared.

• .NET Application using a native DLL (build management)

  I have a .NET app that is dependent on a native DLL. I have the .NET app set as AnyCPU. In the post-build step, I plan to copy the correct native DLL from some directory (x86 or AMD64) and place it in the target path. However, this doesn't work. On a 64-bit machine, the environment variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is "x86" in Visual Studio. My alternative right now is to create a small tool that outputs the processor architecture. This will be used by the post-build step. Is there a better alternative? (Side Note: when deploying/packaging the app, the right native DLL is copied to the right platform. But this means we have two separate release folders for x86 and AMD64, which is OK since this is for a device driver. The app is a utility tool for the driver).

When I run this query, however, the "Enter Parameter Value" dialog appears, requesting a value for BeforeOrAfter. If I remove BeforeOrAfter DESC from the ORDER BY clause, I don't get the dialog. Here is the offending query: SELECT d.Scenario, e.Event, IIF(d.LogTime < e.Time, 'Before','After') AS BeforeOrAfter, d.HeartRate FROM Data d INNER JOIN Events e ON d.Scenario = e.Scenario WHERE e.Include = Yes ORDER BY d.Scenario, e.Id, BeforeOrAfter DESC Question: Why is my AS BeforeOrAfter not being recognized by the ORDER BY clause? Why does it ask me to enter a parameter value for "BeforeOrAfter" when I run this query? Note: I tried using brackets, single quotes, double quotes, etc., but none of that made any difference.
