  • Git-svn refuses to create branch on svn repository error: "not in the same repository"

    I am attempting to create a svn branch using git-svn. The repository was created with --stdlayout. Unfortunately it generates an error stating the "Source and dest appear not to be in the same repository". The error appears to be the result of it not including the username in the source url. $ git svn branch foo-as-bar -m "Attempt to make Foo into Bar." Copying svn+ssh://my.foo.company/r/sandbox/foo/trunk at r1173 to svn+ssh://[email protected]/r/sandbox/foo/branches/foo-as-bar... Trying to use an unsupported feature: Source and dest appear not to be in the same repository (src: 'svn+ssh://my.foo.company/r/sandbox/foo/trunk'; dst: 'svn+ssh://[email protected]/r/sandbox/foo/branches/foo-as-bar') at /home/me/.install/git/libexec/git-core/git-svn line 610 I intially thought this was simply a configuration issue, examination of .git/config doesn't suggest anything incorrect. [svn-remote "svn"] url = svn+ssh://[email protected]/r fetch = sandbox/foo/trunk:refs/remotes/trunk branches = sandbox/foo/branches/*:refs/remotes/* tags = sandbox/foo/tags/*:refs/remotes/tags/* I am using git version 1.6.3.3.   • Java FileLock for Reading and Writing

    I have a process that will be called rather frequently from cron to read a file that has certain move related commands in it. My process needs to read and write to this data file - and keep it locked to prevent other processes from touching it during this time. A completely separate process can be executed by a user to (potential) write/append to this same data file. I want these two processes to play nice and only access the file one at a time. The nio FileLock seemed to be what I needed (short of writing my own semaphore type files), but I'm having trouble locking it for reading. I can lock and write just fine, but when attempting to create lock when reading I get a NonWritableChannelException. Is it even possible to lock a file for reading? Seems like a RandomAccessFile is closer to what I need, but I don't see how to implement that. Here is the code that fails: FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream(f); FileLock fl = fin.getChannel().tryLock(); if(fl != null) { System.out.println("Locked File"); BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(fin)); System.out.println(in.readLine()); ... The exception is thrown on the FileLock line. java.nio.channels.NonWritableChannelException at sun.nio.ch.FileChannelImpl.tryLock(Unknown Source) at java.nio.channels.FileChannel.tryLock(Unknown Source) at Mover.run(Mover.java:74) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Looking at the JavaDocs, it says Unchecked exception thrown when an attempt is made to write to a channel that was not originally opened for writing. But I don't necessarily need to write to it. When I try creating a FileOutpuStream, etc. for writing purposes it is happy until I try to open a FileInputStream on the same file.

  • Alternatives to decompiling MS Access MDE files

    I've been tasked with finding a suitable tool to decompile MDE files. The MDEs were created by staff who have since left (familar story eh?) and we do not have access to the originally MDB files. The reason we need access to the original code is that the data source is changing (the backend as well as some of the table and queries) and we need a way to update queries. An example of a change, in a SELECT statement where is the WHERE clause looks for zero as a string ("0") rather than an integer. I'm aware that unless you use the services of people like EverythingAccess.com its unlikely you will ever get the source code back. My main query is to ask for alternative methods to decompiling code. An example of the kinds of methods I'm thinking about is to spy on the traffic between the app the the ODBC DSN using tcpdump. I might then be able to write code to translate the data source queries between the old and new systems. Ideally I'd prefer a solution that is application centric rather than one that analyses all network traffic. I should add one caveat, no doubt most of you are thinking the best solution is to rewrite the code, based on its perceived functionality. This is the option we're not considering (at the moment).

  • Binding WPF ComboBox in XAML - Why is it Empty?

    I am trying to learn how to bind my simple database (.sdf) to a combobox. I created a dataset with my tables in it. I then dragged a table from the DataSource onto my control. I have dragged datagrids from the DataSource as well, but they are not populated either. Any idea?

    in symfony 2.0 and django there are bundles that contain everything for a feature (html, css, js, img, php/python). so if you want to delete one feature, you basically just delete that bundle and unregister it from "main". are there java frameworks for this too? or is it different in java cause java is a compiling language. thanks

  • iPhone: UIImagePickerController Randomly Fails to Take Picture

    I use a UIPickerViewController to take picture. It works 80% but seemingly at random it fails to take a picture. In tracing the code I found out that it occasionally goes to -PinRecordNewTableViewController:viewDidUnload.   • Usb Driver on 64bit Windows

    I have a pretty generic 64bit driver based on bulkusb.sys in WDK. It's been working for years with an embedded program, but now it is needed to work on Vista 64. From all the documentation I've tried to look through there doesn't seem to be anything affecting it, except compiling it for the 64bit environment, and yet when I compile it with the AMD64 build environment, I get "driver not intended for this platform" error message when it's trying to open the sys. What could be the solution for this?

    Hi, I am trying to create a social timeline. I pull in feeds form certain places so I have a timeline of thing I have done. The problem I am having is with Google reader Shared Items. I want to get the time at which I shared the item which is contained in <entry gr:crawl-timestamp-msec="1269088723811"> Trying to get the element using $date = $xml->entry[$i]->link->attributes()->gr:crawl-timestamp-msec; fails because of the : after gr which causes a PHP error.     Briefly: I'm after the equivalent of .NET's String.Trim in C using the win32 and standard C api (compiling with MSVC2008 so I have access to all the C++ stuff if needed, but I am just trying to trim a char*). Given that there is strchr, strtok, and all manner of other string functions, surely there should be a trim function, or one that can be repurposed... Thanks

  • Python win32com - Automating Word - How to replace text in a text box?

    I'm trying to automate word to replace text in a word document using Python. (I'm on word 2003 if that matters and Python 2.4) The first part of my replace method below works on everything except text in text boxes. The text just doesn't get selected. I notice when I go into Word manually and hit ctrl-A all of the text gets selected except for the text box.   • Trouble binding WPF Menu to ItemsSource

    I would like to avoid having to build a menu manually in XAML or code, by binding to a list of ICommand-derived objects. However, I'm experiencing a bit of a problem where the resulting menu has two levels of menu-items (i.e. each MenuItem is contained in a MenuItem): My guess is that this is happening because WPF is automatically generating a MenuItem for my binding, but the "viewer" I'm using actually already is a MenuItem (it's derived from MenuItem): <ContextMenu x:Name="selectionContextMenu" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={x:Static OrangeNote:Note.MultiCommands}}" ItemContainerStyleSelector="{StaticResource separatorStyleSelector}"> <ContextMenu.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Viewers:NoteCommandMenuItemViewer CommandParameter="{Binding Source={x:Static OrangeNote:App.Screen}, Path=SelectedNotes}" /> </DataTemplate> </ContextMenu.ItemTemplate> </ContextMenu> (The ItemContainerStyleSelector is from http://bea.stollnitz.com/blog/?p=23, which allows me to have Separator elements inside my bound source.) So, the menu is bound to a collection of ICommands, and each item's CommandParameter is set to the same global target (which happens to be a collection, but that's not important). My question is, is there any way I can bind this such that WPF doesn't automatically wrap each item in a MenuItem?

  • Is there a more easy way to create a WCF/OData Data Service Query Provider?

    I have a simple little data model resembling the following: InventoryContext { IEnumerable<Computer> GetComputers() IEnumerable<Printer> GetPrinters() } Computer { public string ComputerName { get; set; } public string Location { get; set; } } Printer { public string PrinterName { get; set; } public string Location { get; set; } } The results come from a non-SQL source, so this data does not come from Entity Framework connected up to a database. Now I want to expose the data through a WCF OData service. The only way I've found to do that thus far is creating my own Data Service Query Provider, per this blog tutorial: http://blogs.msdn.com/alexj/archive/2010/01/04/creating-a-data-service-provider-part-1-intro.aspx ... which is great, but seems like a pretty involved undertaking. The code for the provider would be 4 times longer than my whole data model to generate all of the resource sets and property definitions. Is there something like a generic provider in between Entity Framework and writing your own data source from zero? Maybe some way to build an object data source or something, so that the magical WCF unicorns can pick up my data and ride off into the sunset without having to explicitly code the provider?

Both the servers are hosted in the same system (Os-Microsoft Windows Server 2003 sp2).
