  • connect server to server on secondary NIC

    Hi, I have a CentOS box with multiple NIC's running Apache. I also have another box running RHEL that will be the MySQL server. I'm trying to use the secondary NIC on the Apache box to connect directly to the MySQL server, but so far no luck. I want to isolate the MySQL box as much as possible which is why I'm going for a direct connection as opposed to running through a switch. I have a crossover cable running between them. IP configs: Apache box eth0 [to lan] ip addr: 192.168.200.100 netmask: 255.255.0.0 gateway: 192.168.111.1 eth1 [to mysql] ip addr: 192.168.200.101 netmask: 255.255.0.0 gateway: [blank] MySQL box eth0 [to apache] ip addr: 192.168.200.203 netmask: 255.255.0.0 gateway: 192.168.200.201 The rest of our network is on 192.168.111.0/24 subnet. Ping only returns Destination Host Unreachable. I've tried various variations of this setup (including straight through cable), and I can't seem to get them to talk to each other. Any help appreciated.

    Hello. Before starting down the TFS2010 installation process, I have a few questions I'm hoping the community can help me with. We're planning on a single-server installation of TFS2010. Initially, we want version/source control and build services, but not reporting or SharePoint. We may add reporting and SharePoint capabilities later. Our environment will be Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64), SQL Server 2008 R2 (x64), Office 2010 (x86), Visual Studio 6 and 2010, and, of course, Team Foundation Server 2010. Can I install TFS2010 on a server that is on our domain? It's not a domain controller, it's just a member server on the domain. Should I install TFS2010 before or after putting the server on the domain? We have six developers that will be logging into their local development computers (which are also on the same domain) using their domain user accounts, do I add each domain user to the TFS2010 server's security groups? If so, which one(s)? Can I or should I use a domain user account as the TFS2010 service account? Or, should I just use Network Service? The TFS2010 install guide notes that none of the service accounts should belong to the Administrators security group, so which security group(s) are recommended for the service account(s)? We're planning on using a local instance of SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard with TFS2010, what service account should we use? Should we use the same domain account as TFS2010 or Local System or ?? The TFS2010 install guide isn't very specific on this. Since we're planning on this server being both the version/source control and build server, should we install our development environments (VS6, VS2010, Access2010) before installing TFS2010? Or does it matter? Thanks in advance for answering these questions.

Now I upgraded to SQL Server 2008 and I don’t want to use this feature anymore since Microsoft will be dropping this feature off.   • SQL Server becomes slow after restart

    We use SQL Server 2005 on an Windwos Server 2008. Ther Server has 48 GB RAM. SQL Server is configured to use 40 GB RAM. There is only one database hosted (About 70 GB). The only app beside SQL Server is our App-Server which connects the clients to the database. Now we encounter the following problem: After a restart of the server our the performance is great. The server grabs the 40 GB RAM wich it is allowed to and then runs fast as hell. But after about 4 weeks the system becomes slower and slower. The execution of statements (seen in the profiler) is raising slowly. But I cannot see that there is something going wrong on the server. CPU usage is at about 20% I/O also seems to be no Problem The process monitor does also not show that there are strange apps or something like that. Eventlog does also have no interessting messages No open transactions or blockings to see We tried already the following things without effect: Droped the cache by using the statements DBCC FreeProcCache DBCC FREESYSTEMCACHE('ALL') DBCC DropCleanbuffers Restarted the Appserver we are using. Restart the sql server service But nothing did help exept restarting the whole server. Any ideas?

    I'm working on a bit of a project in python. I have a client and a server. The server listens for connections and once a connection is received it waits for input from the client. The idea is that the client can connect to the server and execute system commands such as ls and cat. Although it works, it's a very ugly and hard to maintain code since there are about 150 different elements to parse. I know there are nice third-party solutions, but I want to keep it with the iPhone SDK for purpose of practice and fun. So I thought: Why not convert that XML file into an NSDictionary? Having this, I could use fast enumeration to go over the elements. Or is it just the same amount of ugly code needed to parse and process an XML right away with NSXMLParser? Would I build up an NSDictionary for every found node in the XML and create a huge one, containing the whole structure and data? Or is there an even simpler way?

  • Using Android SAXParser, one my my XML Elements is mysteriously breaking in half.

    And its not '&' Im using the SAXParser object do parse the actual XML. This is normally done by passing a URL to the XMLReader.Parse method. Because my XML is coming from a POST request to a webservice, I am saving that result as a String and then employing StringReader / InputSource to feed this string back to the XMLReader.Parse method. However, something strange is happening at the 2001st character of the XMLstring. The 'characters' method of the document handler is being called TWICE in between the startElement and endElement methods, effectively breaking my string (in this case a project title) into two pieces. Because I am instantiating objects in my characters method, I am getting two objects instead of one. This line, about 2000 chars into the string fires 'characters' two times, breaking between "Lower" and "Level" <title>SUMC-BOOKSTORE, LOWER LEVEL RENOVATIONS</title> When I bypass the StringReader / InputSource workaround and feed a flat XML file to XMLReader.Parse, it works absolutely fine. Something about StringReader and or InputSource is somehow screwing this up. Here is my method that takes and XML string and parses is through the SAXParser. public void parseXML(String XMLstring) { try { SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance(); SAXParser sp = spf.newSAXParser(); XMLReader xr = sp.getXMLReader(); xr.setContentHandler(this); // Something is happening in the StringReader or InputSource // That cuts the XML element in half at the 2001 character mark.     I created a SDF (SQL CE) database with Visual Studio 2008 (Add / New Item / Local Database). Is it possible to edit this database with SQL Server Management Studio? I tried to attach it but it only offered .mdf and attaching a .sdf file results in "failed to retrieve data for this request". If so, is it possible to create SDF files with Management Studio as well? Or are we stuck with the simple interface of the Visual Studio 2008 database manager?

    We have a JAVA application that pulls the data from SAP, parses it and renders to the users. The data is pulled using JCO connector. Recently we were thrown an exception: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Character reference "&#00" is an invalid XML character. So, we are planning to write a new level of indirection where ALL special/illegal characters are replaced BEFORE parsing the XML. My questions here are : 1. Is there any existing(open source) utility that does this job of replacing illegal characters in XML? 2. Or if I had to write such utility, how should i handle them? 3. Why is the above exception thrown? Thank You.

There are items in the XML file without that node. If that happens it's crashing with a NullReferenceException. Is there any possibility to include a "check if null" so I can prevent it from crashing?

  • How to include a PHP generated XML file into flash vars, while ALSO passing through the current php functions into it?

    Hello Given situation: In webpage.php the flashscript is calling a flash script with a flashvar: the playlist file which is a PHP generated XML file: playlist.php, it does that well so long as there are no extra functions in there. Now, in that XML-format playlistfile there needs to be a special function, besides the usual echo("");, namely the very special echo __(""); function that is already declared in webpage.php which needs to do something with the paragraphs residing within that xml file. However, currently the retrieved file misses the function echo __();and says "no such function declared in that xml-format [playlist.php] file". The php functions that are currently included at the very top of webpage.php somehow do not pass-through-the necessary functions into the playlist file for it to recognise how to handle it, in order for that playlist to get those necessary functions working. Apparently these are not passed through automatically/properly when residing in the flashvars?? Cause the echo __(""); works fine when called within webpage.php or via a normal php include(""); if those functions are in a different php file. But not working from the playlist.php file. Any ideas why/what is going on here? I appreciate your clues for this prob +1. Thanks very much.
