  • Access 2007: Dynamic SQL to be run when opening a report

    I'm trying to have some SQL execute when I open a report. This works fine when I try to match on a column that's an integer with an integer, but when I try to match on a "text" column, it keeps popping up a dialog asking for what you want to filter on. Here's a somple query: select person_phone_numbers.person_id from person_phone_numbers where phone_number = '444-444-4444' This is actually a sub-query I'm trying to use, but this is where the problem is. If I change it to this it works fine: select person_phone_numbers.person_id from person_phone_numbers where phone_id = 2 I put this in the OnOpen event and I'm assigning it to Me.RecordSource if that makes a difference. My goal here is to have a form accept query parameter(s) and have it open a report with the results. Any thoughts on why it wants to ask for a parameter vs. just running the query the way I have it?

    There is a Scenario to be developed for a 3-tier Application .We need to design a Framework or a utility sort of thing . In tradional aspect of GUI Designing , either we tend to create a static gui page and code the elements on it along with other properties of the elements such as (disabled/enabled,image source,name ,id ,which function to be called under onclick event.) or we tend to drag and drop the elements from the control pallete provided by variety of gui frameworks. Certain things i need to design a POC so that we can develop this concept. 1) There must a utility ,such that during creation of screen layout , that screen should be saved in the database(RDBMS) with a screen number. 2) All the Events related to that control should be saved in some other table which will be dynamically mapped during the calling of screen number by the user. 3) When the user call that screen ,a generic function should be invoked which'll call the screen file from the database and apply all the properties ,events,etc at runtime and the final output will be displayed to the user. This POC will help the us to customised the screens according to our usage.also all the code will seperated which can easily be used for some other development process. Thanks Amit Kalra

If a use a function to get my line it will get the line where that function is not the line from where the function was called. I usualy call a function that prints directly to the log file, but in my log I need to know from where the function was called, so i use basename(__FILE__).'::'.__FUNCTION__.'()::'.__LINE__ this will print something like: index.php::b()::6 It is a lot of code when you have over 500 functions in different files. Is there a shorten or better way to do this? Thank you.

    I'm checking to see if anyone has written an MVC extension for Html.ActionLink that you can pass in Post parameters like such: <% Html.ActionLink("Click me", "Index", "Home", new { MyRouteValue = "123" }, null, new { postParam1 = "a", postParam2 = "b" }); %> That would render the link like normal but having an onClick event that submits an also rendered form with an Action url for the Action, Controller, and Route Values with additional hidden inputs from the Post Parameters like such: <a href="#" onClick="$('#theform').submit(); return false;">Click me</a> <form id="theform" action="/Home/Index/123" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="postParam1" value="a"> <input type="hidden" name="postParam2" value="b"> </form> I'm looking to redirect users to various pages with potentially a lot of data. Not only from page to page, but from email to page also. This would be highly reusable and I think would clean up a lot of code, and would save a bunch of time writing this if its already floating around out there. I hate recreating the wheel when I don't have to. Thanks!

So I need JQuery validation (or just plain JS), for this textbox on the page for the following case: If the textbox is enabled AND the user does not have the permission, allow the user to input the current date or future dates ONLY.

  • How to change the width of displayed text nested in a div?

    Hello, Imagine I have the following code (simplified regarding my real context of course): <div id="box" style="width: 120px;" onmouseover="this.style.width='200px'" onmouseout="this.style.width='120px'"> <div>A label</div> <div>Another label</div> <div>Another label, but a longer label</div> </div> What I want to achieve is the following: My div box has a fixed width (120px by default). In this configuration, every label nested in the box must be written in a single line. If the text is too long, then the overflow must be hidden. In my example, the third item will be displayed Another label, but a or Another label, but a .... When the cursor is entering the div box, the width of the box is modified (for example to 200px). In this configuration, the labels that were shorten in the first configuration are now displayed in the whole space. With my code snippet, the third label is displayed in two lines when the box has a 120px, and I do not want that... How can I achieve that? Note that I would be great if the solution works also for IE6! Even if I prefer a pure CSS/HTML solution, (simple) Javascript (and jQuery) is allowed!

  • Google Chrome is doing things wrong again

    Chrome is wrongly reporting width and height values for images during, or just after, load time. Jquery is used in this code example: <img id='image01' alt='picture that is 145x134' src='/images/picture.jpg' /> <script> var img = $( 'img#image01' ) img.width() // would return 145 in Firefox and 0 in Chrome. img.height() // would return 134 in Firefox and 0 in Chrome. </script> If you put the script in a onload function, the result is the same. but if you run the code a few seconds after the page has loaded, chrome returns the correct result. <script> function example () { var img = $( 'img#image01' ); img.width() // returns 145 in both Firefox and Chrome. img.height() // returns 134 in both Firefox and Chrome. } window.setTimeout( example, 1000 ) </script> Also if you specify the width and height values in the img tag, the script seems to work as expected in both Firefox and Chrome. <img id='image01' src='/images/picture.jpg' width=145 height=134 /> But as you cannot always control the html input, this is not an ideal workaround. Can jQuery be patched with a better workaround for this problem? or will I need to specify the width and height for every image in my code?

  • Return lines in input code causing gaps/whitespace between elements in output?

    I am trying to put images next to each other on a webpage. Here is my HTML: <img class="pt" src="Yellow Tulip.jpg" title="Yellow Tulip" alt="Yellow Tulip" /> <img class="pt" src="Pink Tulip.jpg" title="Pink Tulip" alt="Pink Tulip" /> <img class="pt" src="Purple Tulip.jpg" title="Purple Tulip" alt="Purple Tulip" /> However, on my webpage, this shows a gap between each image. I've noticed that once I remove the return line that makes the elements separate and readable and instead just put all the elements on one line, the gaps go away. <img class="pt" src="Yellow Tulip.jpg" title="Yellow Tulip" alt="Yellow Tulip" /><img class="pt" src="Pink Tulip.jpg" title="Pink Tulip" alt="Pink Tulip" /><img class="pt" src="Purple Tulip.jpg" title="Purple Tulip" alt="Purple Tulip" /> Is there anyway I can achieve the output of the latter but still have the code/input look like the former? I really like the readability that the return lines (enter spaces) bring to the code, but I don't want the whitespace it creates on the actual page. If someone could explain why this is and/or how to fix it, I'd be really grateful! :)

    I'm using the code above to dynamically allocate an array, do some work inside the function, return an element of the array and free the memory outside of the function. But when I try to deallocate the array it doesn't free the memory and I have a memory leak. The debugger pointed to the myArray variable shows me the error CXX0030.   • jQuery slideDown + CSS Floats

    I'm using a HTML Table with several rows. Every second row - containing details about the preceding row - is hidden using CSS. When clicking the first row, the second row gets showed using jQuery show(). This is quite nice, but I would prefer the slideDown-Effect. The problem is, inside the details row, there are two floating DIVs, one floating on the left, and one on the right. Now if i slideDown the previously hidden row, the contained DIVs behave strange and "jump around".     i must create something like dictionary in my site, but there is one problem, i don't imagine ho to solve. the client wants the following: in the CMS he must be able to write some specification to some words or even sentences, and after it, in the site, onmouseover() of that words, i must show it's specification in popup window. for example, in the cms he writes "hello word" - "specification of hello world", and then, in the site, if i have the text many many words here hello world and another words... onmouseover of "hello world" i must show "specification of hello world". the problem, that i don't know how to solve, is how to write the functions on the text content? could you give me an idea... I have some basic html <div class="menu"> <ul> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> <li>Item 3</li> </ul> </div>? and some css .menu { border:solid 2px red; width:520px; } ul { border:solid 1px #e5e5e5; height:40px; margin:0 auto; list-style:none; width:500px; } li{ text-align:center; display:inline; margin:10px; } I dont want to hard code li widths for each of the elements but I would like for the li elements to take up all available space with the ul element. What do I need to change to get the result I am looking for? My attempt on jsfiddle

  • force refresh of part of page in browser

    I have the following html: <ul class="scr"> <li class="scr"> <input type="checkbox" class="chkscr"/> <h3>Item Name</h3> <div class="scr">Contents</div> </li> .... </ul> And the following jQuery: //Set initial state of each scr section $('.chkscr input, input.chkscr').each(function() { chkSCR_Click($(this)); }); //Setup click event $('.chkscr input, input.chkscr').click(function() { chkSCR_Click($(this)); }); //Toggle corresponding scr section for the checkbox function chkSCR_Click(ctl) { if (ctl.attr('checked')) { ctl.parents('li.scr').find('div.scr').stop().show(); } else { ctl.parents('li.scr').find('div.scr').stop().hide(); } } My issue is that when I toggle the last li element to display, the h3 element contents disapear, until I click somewhere else on the page, or scroll the page up and down to cause the browse to repaint that portion of the window. I don't get this behavior in Opera for example, and even in IE the behavior only happens on the last li element, so I'm pretty sure it's an IE quirk and not my code. Is there any workaround I can do through jquery/javascript to force it to repaint the h3 element?

    I am creating a webpage (first time) and i'm following as much of the CSS rules and tags as I can. However, I ran into a problem with white space. I've underlined the first line of text but now the second line seems to have drifted below.   • T-SQL: Dynamic Query by Selected Column in ASP.NET GridView

    I'm trying to modify a stored procedure used in an ASP.NET page. By default, the stored procedure returns all of the data, which can be overwhelming for employees in the plant. I want to add a drop down menu item for the column name and a text box for a value to allow our employees to search the data for their specific items. What I would like to add is the ability to pass in a Column Name and Column Value to search, similar to the following: DECLARE @colName nVarChar(50), @colValue nVarChar(50) SET @colName='EmployeeID' SET @colValue='007135' SELECT Column1, Column2, Column3, Column4, Column5, Column6, Column7 FROM viewNum1 WHERE ((@colName IS NULL) OR (@colValue IS NULL) OR ('['+@colName+']'=@colValue)) If all values passed in (@colValue and @colName), all records return; however, if I try specifying that @colName=EmployeeID and @colValue='007135' (a value that does exist in the database), no records are returned. Next is the problem that I am running an old SQL Server 2000 database that does not allow the stored procedure to access the table column names, and the whole technique looks prone to SQL Injection. Finally, I don't see how to bind my GridView control to this and still have the ability to display all records. How would I write such a filtering stored procedure?

Nowhere is it made clear what page is being referenced. Can someone help me? I don't see any relevant class in the pages I have, so I assumed maybe they were talking about the ascx and didn't really mean page, but I'm not seeing an option there either.

The idea consists in letting two or more functions share the same location in memory. A region of memory (which we will call a template) is set up containing some of the machine code bytes from the functions, more specifically, the ones they all have in common. Before a particular function is executed, an edit script is used to patch the template with the necessary machine code bytes to create a complete version of that function. When another function assigned to the same template is about to be executed, the process repeats, this time with a different edit script. To illustrate this, suppose you want to obfuscate a program that contains two functions f1 and f2.     Loading fancybox from Jquery how can I retrieve the contents of a div ID on a page and not the whole page.
