  • How do i create these borders in the middle?

    Hello, I know how to generate rounded corners using images. But please have a look at the link :- http://roundedbox.andreas-kalt.de/ The rounded corners on all four corners are all images, but my question is how are those borders in the middle done? Those green color borders that surround the whole div. The tutorial is given but it is German :(. Also i don't want to use Css3 like -webkit-border-radius etc as they are not yet supported in IE Thanks in advance :)

  • What's causing this background-image to display "incorrectly" in Opera and Firefox?

    I know this is something I'm probably doing wrong, so please don't incinerate me for the thread title. I'm trying to put together a small personal website using HTML 5/CSS3. I've checked with the w3c validator and the site and CSS file fully conform according to the validator (However the validator has a warning attached that it might not be perfect). I'm not sure how to explain it without a picture, so here's a comparison of Chrome/Opera/Firefox: So, you can sorta see how in Chrome the background image is in one non-repeating piece, whereas in Opera/Firefox the image has, oddly, been broken up and placed slightly differently. I'm confident this is due to an error on my part, but I've had no luck at all figuring out why the image is being mangled in Opera and Firefox. When have button with # in href, it doesn't event change the color on click. When i add url, it changes color. But it never call javascript function. Another problem is, that document.addEventListener("deviceready", onDeviceReady, false); works only in the index page. If i press button in initial page which redirects to another page, OnDeviceReady function is never called. Anybody has any ideas?

    I was looking at the ImageConverter class, trying to figure out how to convert a BufferedImage to 8-bit color, but I have no idea how I would do this. I was also searching around the internet and I could find no simple answer, they were all talking about 8 bit grayscale images. I simply want to convert the colors of an image to 8 bit... nothing else, no resizing no nothing. Does anyone mind telling me how to do this.

    I'm coding the frontend of a web app that uses XHR to grab JSON data from a 3rd party. The 3rd party service is slow and because of its API design, we need to make a LOT of API requests every time I refresh the page to test some new code. It's making the development loop painful. The requests are GETs, POSTs and PUTs even though I'm pretty sure none of the requests are changing state. I want to go to localhost for the JSON rather than to this 3rd party API - simply to make my development process faster.

So I have been scanning Google for something that does this in vb.net since I have been coding some in that before. I din't find much on the subject except for "C:\Windows\System32\wuauclt.exe /detectnow" though when I run it it don't seem to do much. So the question is it there is any command or file you can run to make Windows download and install updates? To clarify it need to work on Windows 7, I'm also writing the program in .NET 3.5.   • Help with simple frame, and graphics in Java

    For hw, I'm trying to create a "CustomButton" that has a frame and in that frame, I draw two triangles, and a square over it. It's supposed to give the user the effect of a button press once it is depressed. So for starters, I am trying to set up the beginning graphics, drawing two triangles, and a square. The problem I have is although I set my frame to 200, 200, and the triangles I have drawn I think to the correct ends of my frame size, when I run the program, I have to extend my window to make the whole artwork, my "CustomButton," viewable.   • ie8 playing funny with list-style-position: inside

    Ok, So problem here... when using list-style-position:inside in IE8 the first like is indented but every line after that is not. So the new lines appear under the bullet. This is fine, but when I use a list with that css applied with an a tag within the li then the text automatically gets pushed to the second line, and the first line is empty. When I remove the a tag from the li then it jumps back up. Any idea on why this might be or is this a bug in the ie8 world or do I just need to double check my css? Any insights would be much appreciated.     I can't seem to find this anywhere... it may not even be possible without coding? I have a spreadsheet containing more than one heading in a single column. These headings are identified with blue background and white font. Each of these headings have items listed below them. These "subheadings" are smaller, auto-black font and no fill background. Currently I have to scroll down the spreadsheet to view all headers and their contents. How do I create a filter that would allow me to sort on whichever header I want, so that (only) the contents of that particular header are displayed?

  • Cannot SSH into Virtual Machine

    I am running a CentOS VM on my desktop that I use for development testing when coding in python. At my school I have a dedicated IP setup for the VM and my desktop so I never seem to have an issue ssh'ing from desktop into VM. I am now at home for winter break and cannot seem to SSH into the VM using the local ip address behind my router, the external IP with port 22 forwarded to my VM, or anything. Strangely enough I can ssh into my production server and then fromt here ssh into the VM, but not from my desktop to the VM directly What should I do to get this to work? Thanks
