    Hello. I am creating a site that requires a very small postcode checker. I have approx 8 postcode prefix's, HX, HD, BD, LS etc in an array. I also have a simple input field and submit btn. When the user types in a postcode for example HX5 9DU I want Jquery to check the array, if there is match for the first 2/3 letters I want a div to fade in displaying a message. How would I do this?     I am trying to get a form's textfield to dynamically appear based on a radio checkbox selection. For example, on my form...there is a radio button that ask "Do you want to enter your age?" with an option to check YES or NO. If the user check YES, a textfield dynamically appear after this so the the user can enter his or her age. If user check NO, then nothing happen. How do I begin to do something like this? Just looking for any feedback I can get. Thanks!

    I'm looking for a good way to convert Office (mostly Microsoft) documents to PDF in Java. I've been looking at using the OpenOffice SDK but from the samples I've looked at it looks like this requires having OpenOffice running in server mode to do the work. Does anyone know of a good way to do this? Good meaning the less external requirements, the better. A 100% Java API would be best, but I don't expect that actually exists.

    I need to convert a credit card expire field from MMYY to a date field I can use in a MS SQL query so I can compute when credit cards are expiring in the future. Basically, I need to go from MMYY to MM/DD/YYYY, where the day part could just be '01' (the first of the month). I'm looking for credit cards that are expiring next month from a database. The problem I'm running into is when next month is the first month of the next year.     Looking at some code examples for HtmlHelpers, and I see declarations that look like: public static string HelperName(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper, ...more regular params ) I can't remember seeing this type of construct any where else - can someone explain the purpose of the "this"? I thought that by declaring something public static meant that the class did not need to be instantiated - so what is "this" in this case?

    I just saw the following code among the successful submissions at codechef. http://www.codechef.com/viewplaintext/1595846 I used to think that float max(int n,int arr[n][n]) {....} is not allowed in C++ (as 'n' is a variable). My CodeBlocks (on windows) with MinGW [gcc 4.4] gives compile time error. that "error: array bound is not an integer constant. Then how can be such a solution be accepted by CodeChef's judge.     Hello, let's say I want my users to use only one class, say SpecialData. Now, this data class would have many methods, and depending on the type of data, the methods do different things, internally, but return externally similar results. Therefore my wanting to have one "public" class and other "private", child classes that would change the behavior of methods, etc... It would be amazingly more simple for some types of data that need to be built to do something like this: SpecialData& sm = SpecialData::new_supermatrix(); and new_supermatrix() would return a SuperMatrix instance, which inherits from most behaviors of SpecialData. my header: static SpecialData& new_supermatrix(); my cpp: SpecialData& SpecialData::new_supermatrix()(){ return SuperMatrix(MATRIX_DEFAULT_MAGNITUDE,1000,1239,FLOAT32,etc...); } The problem is, I get this error, which is probably logical due to the circumstances: invalid initialization of non-const reference of type ‘SpecialData&’ from a temporary of type ‘SpecialData’ So, any ideas?
