    In a standard generated scaffold project, when you are on an edit page, the URL looks like; /something/3/edit However, when the page doesn't validate, it runs the following code: format.html { :action => "new" } and the page url changes to; /something/3 (no /edit) Why is this is this and how to prevent it, as it looks inconsistent to me and thus confusing.     Hi all, I'd like to determine the environment's current codepage at runtime from a Unix shell script. What's the most reliable way of doing this? I'm looking into parsing environment variable $LC_ALL, but it isn't always set to a useful value, and its format seems to vary (can be <locale, or <locale.<code page, or <locale.<code page@<modifier etc...). Is there a better way? I'm essentially after a shell equivalent of what I'd get if I called nl_langinfo(CODESET) from C.

The name of the server has - in it, so i put the index catalog name as: i.e num.num.num.num\name of catalog or an-example-server I get the following error when using an ole data connection to pull results from the index: "Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index 39" I tried putting single quotes and &qoute; with no luck - anyone have idea?     I have a file saved as UTF-8, and i'm reading it like this: ReadFile(hFile, pContents, pFile->nFileSize, &dwRead, NULL); (pContents is a BYTE* of size nFileSize) its just a small file with 100 bytes or so, contains text which i want to read into memory in wchar_t* format, so i can set the text of edit and static controls with the unicode text. How can i convert the bytes to UTF-8? edit (i don't want to use fstream or wfstream)
