  • Using Qtcreator (with Qwt), really basic stuff

    I'm trying to make a Qt program using Qtcreator and Qwt for plotting. I've never used Qtcreator before. I've created a mainwindow and added a Qwtplot widget there (object name: qwtPlot). The widget shows up in the program when I compile and run it. But theres no mention of the qwtPlot object anywhere in the (autogenerated) code so I assume it is being added at compile time from the .ui xml file (or something). My question is that... how do I modify/change the qwtPlot object? Or where should I place the code. I'm having a hard time articulating my question but the question basically is "How do I do anything with the qwtPlot widget which is created (graphically) with Qtcreator?". I've checked some tutorials but in the tutorials they add the widgets manually in the code, but I'd like to use Qtcreator (because my UI will be fairly complicated). This whole Qtcreator is pretty confusing...

  • Java - JTable multiple instances

    I have a JTable that gets data added to it from another JTable. Now I want to switch between JTables according to the day selected in a JComboBox. For example, if I choose Monday I add programs added to it then I select Tuesday from the JComboBox and a fresh JTable appears. If I go to Monday again the programs should still be there (until the program is closed). How do I create multiple JTables (the JTable remains the same) for the days and let the info remain there until program closure? Here is an example to show you what I mean:

    I have a dynamically generated gridview on page with sorting provided in the code behind also. Now i move from page A to page B using a link, this also works fine. But when i press the browser back button and come back to my page A and again try to sort... page A throws an exception... is there a way to program this back button like we program a button normally..     Hi, I would like to research protocols such as HTTP. As I am learning Ruby, I would like to write a program that works as a "gateway". I would be connecting to it's port on for example 8080 and the program should forward my request to the real host and send back the answers.   • Question about "Link Map" output and "Assume" directive of MASM assembler.

    I am new to MASM. So the questions may be quite basic. When I am using the MASM assembler, there's an output file called "Link Map". Its content is composed of the starting offset and length of various segments, such as Data segment, Code segment and Stack segment. I am wondering that, where are these information describing? Are they talking about how various segments are located within an EXE file or, how segments are located within memory after the EXE file being loaded into memory by a program loader? BTW: What does the "Assume" directive do? My understanding is that it tell the assembler to emit some information into the exe file header so the program loader could use it to set DS, CS, SS, ES register accordingly. Am I right on this?     I am using ffmpeg build for windows to make video thumbnails . The command works well in command line but not from PHP exec method. am using PHP 5.2.11 Here is the command. This program was compiled on gcc-4.1.2 on 32-bit linux machine.

The program has a callback function of pcap_loop, called "got_packet".     Hi Guys, Im having some problems with a GTK program im trying to build. When i compile it i keep getting this error: This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. (Details: serial 195 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0) Ive traced it down to the following command that appears to be causing it: gtk_box_pack_start(GTK_BOX (Top_Graph), Widget_Get (Graph_Cpu), TRUE, TRUE, 0); Now Top_Graph and Graph_Cpu are both GtkVbox Widgets. Has anyone ever seen an error like this, and could they give me some advice as to how it is caused Regards Paul

  • Possible apache/mysql/php wrapper?

    I was tasked with writing a smallish program for data input and manipulation. My language of choice happens to be PHP. I have written out the program/site it all works fine is easily portable and everything but have one question. Is there anyway to wrap up apache/mysql/php into a bundle of one exe? I know of MoWes Portable and other options but I am looking to basically wrap everything up into a single exe without much fuss to the end user. My target users are very low on the computer savvy scale. I am trying to avoid a batch file for launching and don't really want them able to shutdown one part on accident and not another (IE shut off mysql but leave apache on).

    Hello. I have an MFC-driven dialog-based application created with MSVS2005. Here is my problem step by step. I have button on my dialog and corresponding click-handler with code like this: int* i = 0; *i = 3; I'm running debug version of program and when I click on the button, Visual Studio catches focus and alerts "Access violation writing location" exception, program cannot recover from the error and all I can do is to stop debugging. And this is the right behavior. Well now the strange things begin to happen: all initialization is fine, there are no errors in OnInitDialog(), but when I click the button... no exception is thrown. Nothing happens. At all. If I set a break-point at the *i = 3; and press F11 on it, the handler-function halts immediately and focus is returned to the application, which continue to work well. I can click button again and the same thing will happen. It seems like someone had handled occurred exception of access violation and silently returned execution into main application message-receiving cycle. If I comment the line wglMakeCurrent(DC, hrc);, all works fine as before, exception is thrown and Visual Studio catches it and shows window with error message and program must be terminated afterwards. I experience this problem under Windows 7 64-bit, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 with latest drivers (of 11.01.2010) available at website installed. My colleague has Windows Vista 32-bit and has no such problem - exception is thrown and application crashes in both cases. Well, hope good guys will help me :) PS The problem originally where posted under this topic.

  • GUI freezing after datagridviews have been updated using backgroundworkers

    I have made an application which runs three backgroundworkers simultaneously. It basically updates three datagridviews, which it is doing spot on. My problem is if I press maximizebox button or anywhere in any of the datagridview the program hangs for quite a long time. I am able to use the horizontal scroll but not vertical scrolls. I have tried Backgroundworker_runworkercompleted and it fires as required after threads have updated their respective datagridviews. Is it a normal behaviour or am i doing something wrong any suggestions would be helpful. P.S: I have run the whole program using step method and their is no infinite loop in the code. By the way I made some variables that take the screensize and half it to find a point to spit out the squares, but when I try to use it, it makes a weird effect :/ Try switching the list i have in the newbyte() function with the halfScreen variable and see it freak out o.O thank you

  • Segmentation Fault when using "mov" in Assembly

    I am working on a simple assembly program for a class, and am encountering an odd segmentation fault. It's a pretty simple program to convert bytes into kilobytes. However, within the function that does the conversion, I get a segmentation fault when I try to move the value 1024 into the ebx register. I've never had this kind of problem before when working with registers. Does someone know what could be causing this? I imagine it is something simple that I'm overlooking. However, I get a crazy result in eax after performing div ebx.

  • XML RSS to HTML parser doesn't work

    I'm using MCX (I don't even know if someone here is familiar with it, pretty unkown derivate of COBOL and Fortran, look it up in google when you don't believe me) Note: I'm using MCX on the MCX-WebServices server as it does neither support apache or ISS, mabye that is one problem. The thing is that I want to use the XML library to read in an XML file and convert it into an output format readable by the user.   • .NET interop COM DLL behaves differently in VB6 debugger

    I have a .NET v2.0 Dll that exposes a few classes to COM. The assembly is called BLogic.DLL I'm calling these classes from a legacy visual basic 6.0 application. I can generate and EXE file and if I have Blogic.dll in the same folder as the EXE, the program runs without a hitch. However If I try and launch the same program within the VB6 debugger I get a: Automation Error The system cannot find the file specified I assume when I'm running in the debugger, the PLogic.dll file can't be found. I tried putting it in the System32 folder, and the same folder as the VB6.EXE file, but I still get the same error. Other facts that may help: PLogic.dll is NOT a strongly-named assembly. It depends on a 3rd party reference that isn't strongly signed so VS doesn't let me strongly sign it. However the 3rd party functionality isn't being called by the VB6 code, and it is not ComVisible.

  • ORDER BY giving wrong order

    I have an SQL statement in my C# program that looks like: SELECT * FROM XXX.dbo.XXX WHERE Source = 'OH' AND partnum = '1231202085' ORDER BY partnum, Packaging, Quantity When running this query in SQL Server Management, the results are ordered as expected. My first 3 results have the same partnum and Packaging with Quantities of 32.0, 50.8, and 51.0. However, when I run the query from my program, the result set with quantity 50.8 is the first to be returned. The datatype of Quantity is decimal(18,9). I've tried cast, it doesn't appear to be a datatype problem. I cant figure out why its getting the middle quantity.

  • Interpreting Search Results

    Hi all, I am tasked with writing a program that, given a search term and the HTML source of a page representing search results of some unknown search engine (it can really be anything, a blog, a shop, Google, eBay, ...), needs to build a data structure of the results containing "what's in the results": a title for earch result, the "details" link, the position within the results etc. It is not known whether the results page contains any of the data at all, and whether there are any search results. The goal is to feed the data structure into another program that extracts meaning. What I am looking for is not BeautifulSoup or a RegExp but rather some clever ideas or algorithms on how to interpret the HTML source. What do I do to find out what part of the page constitutes a single result item? How do I filter the markup noise to extract the important bits? What would you do? Pointers to fields of research covering what I try to to are aly greatly appreciated. Thanks, Simon
