  AssetManager assets = myContext.getAssets(); String[] files = assets.list("MyFolder"); InputStream myInput = assets.open("MyFolder/" + files[0]); int i = myInput.read(); in this case 'i' is -1 meaning nothing read. Why would nothing be there if the file is there, the variable 'files' has the file as well. Do I need to do anything to the file I put into the Assets folder in get it to be readable?

  Rather than just writing a new function called import() i'd like to know if there's a better solution. Otherwise require_once would be included in the scope of import() only, which is bad for any "global" variable there. My import() function would work differently than require_once, but serves the same purpose (enhanced usability).

The link to my Colorbox is in the MasterPage, and on click opens up in an iframe from a different page in a different folder i.e. /admin/deals.aspx <-- iframed page in colorbox which needs SESSION /default.aspx <-- page with set SESSION Is there a way I can pass this variable to the iframed page?

I tried using include_directories( "/usr/local/include" ) but it doesn't work either.

• In Java, how do you parse through a single word string?

  I'm trying to parse though a string made up of a single word. How would you go about assigning the last letter of the word to a variable? I was thinking of using the Scanner class to parse the word and make each letter an element in an array but it seems Scanner.next() only goes through whole words and not the individual letters. Any help?

• Is there an easy way to get the ServerName in Symfony?

  I have been searching for an easy way to get the ServerName of the machine where Symfony runs in Symfony (so that my app adapts when it is used on a host with a different ServerName), but I couldn't find one. I created a variable in app.yml and I fetch it, but I still wonder if there is no easier way to do this. How are you doing this? I'm using Symfony 1.2 and 1.4 on different projects.

  I thought I read that when a Ruby on Rails server is running in production mode, it won't say so much about an error (the details, showing the code)... but I just try to run the server using ruby script/server -e production and add a <%= x %> with the local variable x undefined. • Video has become blurred and smoothed out?!

  Hi, Since yesterday video and graphics on my Windows 7 desktop seem to have become smoothed out and blurred slightly and I'm not sure why. The last thing I did on the machine was play Fallout New Vegas for the first time. An example can be seen in the picture here screenshot - note how smoothed out the character on the right seems, lots of definition looks lost. It's really annoying and happening regardless of what I watch. • ldd output showing shared object file whose function is not called

  I ran ldd command on an executable created by Open MPI. It shows a reference to libpthread.so Using LD_PRELOAD variable I created my own implementation of pthread_create, but from the it output it seems that MPI implementation is not calling pthread_create as I had expected. Why does ldd show pthread so file in output if it is not being used? does Open MPI not use a separate MPI thread for every node to implement the functionality?
