• Mysql latin1 turkish data and delphi 2010 utf8

  Hello, I have tables collating latin1_general_ci and have turkish character values. And i can use this data on delphi 7+zeos with no problem. but i want to upgrade my delphi to 2010 version but zeos too slow as i saw. so i want to use odbc+ado or dbexpress solution. dbexpress solution works fine , display my data as entered and write as entered table without any change to column charset. but dbexpress has problems as i saw. for example when i select * from table which has column types as varchar,decimal,int,tinyint,text give av errors on xp systems. vista and 7 does not give any error and work fine(not fully tested). ado solution(dbgo) works fine but its not show my data as entered.its want everything be utf. but i don't want to convert my data to utf before test everything. how can i see my data as entered and write client side utf and store latin1(as zeos or dbexpress do). i was tried many other options. eg. mysql side collation and charset parameters. sorry for my bad english. i hope someone understand me. thanks.

• Inflated ImageView to put in GalleryView isn't the right size

  I am trying to inflate an ImageView that scales a Drawable that I can display in a GalleryView. My code to inflate the view seems to work fine, except that the attributes of the ImageView are not applied. Specifically, the inflated ImageView does not have the width/height that I set for it via the android:layout params in XML. Can someone show me what I'm doing wrong? I want to set the width/height of the image in dp, so that it is the correct size across multiple screen dpis and support Android 1.5+.   I am trying to read strings from a file that has each string on a new line but I think it reads a newline character once instead of a string and I don't know why. I suppose I could read a dummy string to absorb that extra blank and then nothing would be shifted, but that doesn't help me understand the problem and avoid in the future.

• Trouble parsing quotes with SAX parser (javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser) on Android API 1.5

  When using a SAX parser, parsing fails when there is a " in the node content. How can I resolve this? Do I need to convert all " characters? In other words, anytime I have a quote in a node: <node>characters in node containing "quotes"</node> That node gets butchered into multiple character arrays when the Handler is parsing it. Is this normal behaviour? Why should quotes cause such a problem?   Flash receives the XML, but the values are wrong. How do I fix this? Problem I can see the XML loaded with no errors, but my output is way off. It's as though it's not receiving any values. Numbers in the output window and animation move rapidly. The Flash file runs as if it's variables where set to zero. I changed the order of my code, but that didn't help with this. Please explain how I can correct this.   How could I inject a --stringparam (xsltproc) into the DOCTYPE of a XSL stylesheet? The --stringparam is specified from the command line. I have several books in docbook5 format I want to process with the same customization layer, each book having an unique identifier, here "demo", so I'm running something like xsltproc --stringparam course.name demo ... for each book. • ImageViews in a ListView not aligned vertically [Mono for Android]

  I'm very new to developing apps to android, so bear with me. Having said that, I'm trying to make a list with a image to the left and a title and description to the right of the image. The image is downloaded from the web in the background and then set in the UI as they complete. This all works. However, the images are not aligned properly and I simply cannot understand why. I'm thinking it has something to do with the layout defined in the xml file? I tried using android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" and android:layout_gravity="left" but that got me nowhere. Then I didn't know how to proceed, even after googling every way I could think of. I'm sorry if this is very basic, but I would really appreciate some help here. • DjangoUnicodeDecodeError while storing pickle'd data.

  I've got a simple dict object I'm trying to store in the database after it has been run through pickle. It seems that Django doesn't like trying to encode this error. I've checked with MySQL, and the query isn't even getting there before it is throwing the error, so I don't believe that is the problem. The dict I'm storing looks like this: { 'ordered': [ { 'value': u'First\xd1ame Last\xd1ame', 'label': u'Full Name' }, { 'value': u'123-456-7890', 'label': u'Phone Number' }, { 'value': u'[email protected]', 'label': u'Email Address' } ], 'cleaned_data': { u'Phone Number': u'123-456-7890', u'Full Name': u'First\xd1ame Last\xd1ame', u'Email Address': u'[email protected]' }, 'post_data': <QueryDict: { u'Phone Number': [u'1234567890'], u'Full Name_1': [u'Last\xd1ame'], u'Full Name_0': [u'First\xd1ame'], u'Email Address': [u'[email protected]'] }>, 'user': <User: itis> } The error that gets thrown is: 'utf8' codec can't decode bytes in position 52-53: invalid data. Position 52-53 is the first instance of \xd1 (Ñ) in the pickled data. So far, I've dug around StackOverflow and found a few questions where the database encoding for the objects was wrong. This doesn't help me because there is no MySQL query yet. This is happening before the database. Google also didn't help much when searching for unicode errors on pickled data. It is probably worth mentioning that if I don't use the Ñ, this code works fine.

  I have a simple XML document in the following format: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <object> <strField>Foo</strField> <intField>1</intField> <dateField>2010-11-03</dateField> <boolField>true</boolField> <nilField></nilField> </object> I would like to parse this into a Hash to be passed to Model.create: {:object => { :strField => 'Foo', :intField => 1, :dateField => Date.today, :boolField => true, :nilField => nil }} Sadly there are no "type" attributes in the XML, so using Hash.from_xml just parses each field as a string. What I am looking for is some sort of field type auto detection. I have also looked at Nokogiri, but that can't output as a Hash. What is the simplest and most efficient way to achieve this?   hi all, I am a newbie in working on VS IDE and have not much experience in how the different libraries and files are linked in it. I have to build a OpenCV project which was made in VS2005 by one of my colleagues into VS2008. The project is for blob detection. Following is what he has to say in readme : Steps to use the library (using MSVC++ sp 5): 1 - open the project of the library and build it 2 - in the project where the library should be used, add: 2.1 In "Project/Settings/C++/Preprocessor/Additional Include directories" add the directory where the blob library is stored 2.2 In "Project/Settings/Link/Input/Additional library path" add the directory where the blob library is stored and in "Object/Library modules" add the cvblobslib.lib file 3- Include the file "BlobResult.h" where you want to use blob variables. 4- To see an example on using the blob library, see the file example.txt inside the zip file. NOTE: Verify that in the project where the cvblobslib.lib is used, the MFC Runtime Libraries are not mixed: Check in "Project-Settings-C/C++-Code Generation-Use run-time library" of your project and set it to Debug Multithreaded DLL (debug version ) or to Multithreaded DLL ( release version ). 2 Check in "Project-Settings-General" how it uses the MFC. It should be "Use MFC in a shared DLL". NOTE: The library can be compiled and used in .NET using this steps, but the menu options may differ a little NOTE2: In the .NET version, the character sets must be equal in the .lib and in the project. • Finding Common Phrases in SQL Server TEXT Column

  Short Desc: I'm curious to see if I can use SQL Analysis services or some other SQL Server service to mine some data for me that will show commonalities between SQL TEXT fields in a dataset. Long Desc I am looking at a subset of data that consists of about 10,000 rows of TEXT blobs which are used as a notes column in a issue tracking (ticketing) software. I would like to use something out of the box (without having to build something) that might be able to parse through all of the rows and find commonly used byte sequences in the "Notes" column. In other words, I want to find commonly used phrases (two to three word phrases, so 9 - 20 character sections of the TEXT blob). This will help me better determine if associate's notes contain similar phrases (troubleshooting techniques) that we could standardize in our troubleshooting process flow. Closing Note I'd really rather not build an application to do this as my method will probably not be the most efficient way to do it. Hopefully all this makes sense. Please let me know in the comments if anything needs clarification.

  Hi All, I am learning indesign, I have a doubt in story splitting... I want to split the story if the same story is used in two different text frames, I am extracting idml file and getting the needed data. My question is, I have a single story which is used by two text frames (Threaded text), and these two textframes are available in two different spreads. Story.xml contains full story, half of the story is displayed in 1st textframe, next half is displayed in 2nd textframe and the same story ID is referred in both the textframes. Now I want to split this story into two, so I want to know that how much content of the story is added in 1st and 2nd textframe, I think if I find that how many characters or words or lines present in each textframe then it will easy to split the story. We can determine the word and character count using the following steps in indesign CS4 Place the insertion point in a text frame to view counts for the entire thread of frames (the story), or select text to view counts only for the selected text. Choose Window Info to display the Info panel. Is there any property or attribute in idml (xml files like prefrence.xml or story.xml or spread.xml) to find out the number of characters/words/lines of single textframe. Can anyone help me to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

  I'm trying to get Zend_Mail to send an encapsulated message - as though it's forwarding an email. $attachedContent = "<h1>H1 Email</h1>"; $emailContent = "<h1>Email Content>"; $mail = new Zend_Mail(); $mail->setBodyText('text content'); $mail->setBodyHtml($emailContent); $mail->setFrom('[email protected]', 'GAS'); $mail->addTo('[email protected]', 'GAS'); $at = $mail->createAttachment($attachedContent); $at->type = 'message/rfc822; name="forwarded message"'; $at->disposition = Zend_Mime::DISPOSITION_INLINE; $at->encoding = Zend_Mime::ENCODING_7BIT; $mail->setSubject('Test'); $mail->send(); Mail clients are getting the email, rendering the normal HTML content, and displaying the forwarded message and rendering its contents, however, it's formatting like: <h1>Email Content</h1> Can you see what I'm doing wrong?
