• Clicking the TableView leads you to the another View

- by lakesh
I am a newbie to iPhone development. I have already created an UITableView. I have wired everything up and included the delegate and datasource. However, instead of adding a detail view accessory by using UITableViewCellAccessoryDetailClosureButton, I would like to click the UITableViewCell and it should lead to another view with more details about the UITableViewCell. My view controller looks like this: ViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface ViewController : UIViewController<UITableViewDataSource,UITableViewDelegate>{ NSArray *tableItems; NSArray *images; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSArray *tableItems; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSArray *images; @end ViewController.m #import "ViewController.h" #import <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> @interface ViewController () @end @implementation ViewController @synthesize tableItems, images; - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; tableItems = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"Item1",@"Item2",@"Item3",nil]; images = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:[UIImage imageNamed:@"clock.png"],[UIImage imageNamed:@"eye.png"],[UIImage imageNamed:@"target.png"],nil]; } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Dispose of any resources that can be recreated. } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section{ return tableItems.count; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath{ //Step 1:Check whether if we can reuse a cell UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:@"cell"]; //If there are no new cells to reuse, create a new one if(cell == nil) { cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:(UITableViewCellStyleDefault) reuseIdentifier:@"cell"]; UIView *v = [[UIView alloc] init]; v.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor]; cell.selectedBackgroundView = v; //changing the radius of the corners //cell.layer.cornerRadius = 10; } //Set the image in the row cell.imageView.image = [images objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; //Step 3: Set the cell text content cell.textLabel.text = [tableItems objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; //Step 4: Return the row return cell; } - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView willDisplayCell:(UITableViewCell *)cell forRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath{ cell.backgroundColor = [ UIColor greenColor]; } @end Need some guidance on this.. Thanks.. Please pardon me if this is a stupid question.

• Is there a java api to access bugzilla?

- by Mauli
Is there a (standalone!) java api which wraps the XML-RPC interface to bugzilla? I don't want to program my own api for it, and I can't actually find a library which does this (and only this). Update: I'm looking for something like this http://oss.dbc.dk/bugzproxy/ only written in Java

• Open an X application going through many hoops (SSH, vpn etc)

- by ??O?????
The players: my home computer, running Linux with an X server running. (Call it HOME.) a remote site, to which I can connect over the internet using a VPN. (SITE) a Linux computer at the remote site, to which I can connect with ssh -X and nicely have X clients displaying on my local server. (MIDDLE) a very old Irix machine (an Onyx) at the remote site, which has no SSH server (therefore I can't ssh -X to it), only an ssh client. (ONYX) Purpose I need to run an X11 application on the ONYX machine, and see the GUI on HOME. I think I stumble upon xauth issues. So far The current situation is: ? HOME connects to SITE ? A vncserver starts on MIDDLE:7 ? vncviewer on HOME connects to vncserver on MIDDLE ? ONYX starts a forwarding ssh session to MIDDLE: ssh -TfN -L 6007:127.0.0.1:6007 MIDDLE ? DISPLAY=localhost:7 xclient on ONYX fails with Xlib: connection to "127.0.0.1:7.0" refused by server I do know that the forwarding (6007:127.0.0.1:6007) succeeds. A previous attempt was: ? HOME connects to SITE ? HOME connects to MIDDLE: ssh -X MIDDLE (xclock displays on HOME, DISPLAY is 127.0.0.1:10) ? ONYX starts an SSH tunnel to MIDDLE: ssh -TfN -L 6010:127.0.0.1:6010 MIDDLE ? DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:10 xclient fails with X connection to 127.0.0.1:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). while an error pops up in the MIDDLE session: X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. Despair How can I achieve my purpose?

• Preferred Options for Webservice to Android

- by Tim Almond
I need to get an Android app to interface with an XML webservice (it's really just a request which returns XML), but as the data is large and includes some things I don't need (like a huge description block), I was thinking of transforming it via a server into a format that would be good for Android, and also to be reduced considering it will be used in a low bandwidth area. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good lightweight protocol? I'm especially thinking about libraries for Android that already exist for say REST or even delimited data.

• Stronger laptop_mode in Linux

- by Vi
Can I have stronger laptop mode in Linux? I want to spin down the hard drive and prevent it to spin up even if something wants to read something not in cache. In general I want to have these modes: Normal Current laptop mode Stronger laptop mode: spin up only when needs to read something uncached (and cache it). No spinups to write something unless really memory pressure (Exception: explicit "sync" command in console). Kernel is allowed to keep processes in D-sleep for 10 seconds for that. Forced laptop mode: do not spin up, period. Keep offending processes in D-sleep unless I turn off this mode. Like there is a bomb instead of hard drive. I also want to have access times tracked (mount -o atime), but I don't want the hard drive to be spinned up only to update them. Is there some settings or kernel patches that can get closer to this? May be I should write special io scheduler for "forced laptop mode"? E.g. echo suspend > /sys/block/sda/queue/scheduler to lock the drive and echo cfq > /ys/block/sda/queue/scheduler to unlock it again?

• Planning a requirements gathering session using Agile

- by Dave Smith
We are planning on introducing Agile into our development process (a shift from the waterfall we've been using so far). We are leaning towards a hybrid model in whcih the requirements gathering session is comprised of a business analyst, subject matter experts, technical person and a user interface person. The plan is to create user stories that the development team can use in their agile process with 1 month sprints. Has anyone had experience with a hybrid model? How has it worked for you so far?

• connecting to a network using route command

- by ami
I have a computer with an external IP(192.168.223.220) and also an internal address (10.1.1.20) in order to connect to some servers that don't have external addresses only 10.1.1.xx . in order to connect to these servers from other machines I used the following command "route ADD 10.1.1.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.223.220" and than I was able to connect to the servers using there 10.1.1.xx address. The problem is that the hard disk of main server(192.168.223.220) died and was replaced and after the that I am not able to connect to the servers as before, the route command succeeds and I can ping 10.1.1.20 but not the other servers. • .bat file to update loopback controller to external ip

- by cable729
Okay, so I've figured out how to get my external ip using wget: wget -q -O - http://whatismyip.com/automation/n09230945.asp that outputs the ip to the command console. adding currentip.txt to the end will write it to a text file. But what I want to do is use netsh interface ip set address name="Local Area Connection 2" source=static addr=[WHAT DO I PUT HERE] Also, a way to make the command prompt not flash would be nice too :)

• How can I draw a shadow beyond a UIView's bounds?

- by Christian
I'm using the method described at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/805872/how-do-i-draw-a-shadow-under-a-uiview to draw shadow behind a view's content. The shadow is clipped to the view's bounds, although I disabled "Clip Subviews" in Interface Builder for the view. Is it possible to draw a shadow around a view and not only in a view? I don't want to draw the shadow inside the view because the view would receive touch events for the shadow area, which really belongs to the background.

• Euro character messed up during FTP transfer

- by djechelon
My customer is using a very outdated ecommerce management system on my hosting service. For that product, no support is being provided anymore by the vendor. Brief explanation: the shop website, that claims to run under LAMP stack, is built by an old Visual Basic Windows application running on MS Access. The user constructs the shop, defines the HTML template, adds products and categories, etc. Then the VB exe builds the PHP pages (one for each template page) and the SQL script to run on MySQL. It also uploads everything via FTP and runs the installation/upgrade script on its own. The problem Browsing the website, many products' descriptions are cut before the euro sign. For example, what was supposed to be "Product price €1000" becomes "Product price" The analysis MySQL contains a cutted description until the € sign, so it's not PHP fault The Access databases contain full description with € sign, so it's not fault of the webmaster writing bad description or eDisplay cutting them The SQL that will run once the site gets uploaded, stored on my local machine before upload, contains the € sign The same script, after being FTPed by eDisplay and opened with nano from SSH, shows the € sign messed up like this: ^À vsftpd log reports (obfuscated for privacy) Sat Dec 15 11:16:57 2012 22 xxx.xxx.128.13 1112727 /srv/www/domains/xxxxxx.it/htdocs/db.sql b _ i r xxxxxxx ftp 0 * c which seems to be a binary transfer (and also a huge security vulnerability because you can download the whole database from unauthenticated HTTP) The eDisplay internal FTP client provides no option for ascii/binary transfer modes [Add] Trying to manually upload the SQL file via SFTP shows messing up euro [Add2] Trying to manually upload using Xftp client with explicit ASCII mode doesn't fix too It looks like the file gets uploaded as binary. Perhaps on the customer's previous host it all worked fine because that was a Windows host. The server It's an Azure virtual machine running openSUSE 12.2 with both vsftpd and openSSH The question Without asking the customer to manually upload files using FileZilla or replacing € with €, because he refuses, what can I do on server side to prevent vsftpd to screw up euro sign?

• Pointcut matching methods with annotated parameters

- by Sinuhe
I need to create an aspect with a pointcut matching a method if: - Is public - Its class is annotated with @Controller - One of its parameters (can have many) is annotated with @MyParamAnnotation. I think the first two conditions are easy, but I don't know if its possible to accomplish the third with Spring. If it is not, maybe I can change it into: - One of its parameters is an instance of type com.me.MyType (or implements some interface) Do you think it's possible to achieve this? And will performance be good? Thanks

• Browser Preview Utility

- by just_wes
Hello everybody, Are there any programs that render websites from the point of view of different browsers? In other words, I'd like to be able to open and view websites as if it were Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc. It would be a bonus if the utility has a paned interface that lets you view pages side by side. Thanks!
