  • Different ways of accessing configuration parameters from a JAX-WS service

    As far as I know I can access the web.xml <context-param>s by making my class implement ServletContextListener and use the ServletContext.getInitParam(String) to read them, but it´s cumbersome as only one instance of the class will receive the contextInitialized(ServletContextEvent sce) call, so I need to make the ServletContext an static member of the class. What other ways exist of setting conf params at deployment time and what are the recommended ones?

    I have an application that is installed and updated via ClickOnce. The application downloads files via FTP, and therefore needs to be added as an exception to the windows firewall. Because of the way that ClickOnce works, the path to the EXE changes with every update, so the exception needs to change also. What would be the best way to have the changes made to the firewall so that it's invisible to the end user? (The application is written in C#)

    I have a resource that looks something like this: /users/{id}/summary?format={format} When format is "xml" or "json" I respond with a user summary object that gets automagically encoded by WCF - fine so far. But when format equals "pdf", I want my response to consist of a trivial HTTP response body and a PDF file attachment. How is this done? Hacking on WebOperationContext.Current.OutgoingResponse doesn't seem to work, and wouldn't be the right thing even if it did. Including the bits of the file in a CDATA section or something in the response isn't safe. Should I create a subclass of Message, then provide a custom IDispatchMessageFormatter that responds with it? I went a short distance down that path but ultimately found the documentation opaque. What's the right thing?

It looks like the issue is due to the following line not working properly: builtin eval export $previousFilenameVar=$filename I have a some theories to explain why: in the original code, functions are declared and exported as readonly which makes them unable to modify global variable. I removed readonly declarations in the above sample, but probleme persists. Function calls are performed in $() which should make them run into seperated shell instances so variable modified are not exported to the main shell But I cannot manage to find a workaround to this issue... Now I need to implement a combobox (assume that I have got 2010, 2011,2012) to allow the user select a year . then when user clicks View or Modify link, which is placed in the table, selected year will be passed to another page as a parameter.   • Connecting a PHP front-end to a back-end java service

    I am currently using various back-end services and I want to use PHP to simply query these services and perform the final page construction. These services could be coded in any number of programming langauges such as Erlang, Java, Python etc. However I am unsure of the best way to actually interface the back-end services with the web app. Requests to these services would be both synchronous and asynchronous. Would I use something like SOAP or JSON-RPC?? Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I hope I can explain this good enough. I have 3 tables. wo_parts, workorders and part2vendor. I am trying to get the cost price of all parts sold in a month. I have this script. $scoreCostQuery = "SELECT SUM(part2vendor.cost*wo_parts.qty) as total_score FROM part2vendor INNER JOIN wo_parts ON (wo_parts.pn=part2vendor.pn) WHERE workorder=$workorder"; What I am trying to do is each part is in wo_parts (under partnumber [pn]). The cost of that item is in part2vendor (under part number[pn]). I need each part price in part2vendor to be multiplied by the quantity sold in wo_parts. The way all 3 tie up is workorders.ident=wo_parts.workorder and part2vendor.pn=wo_parts.pn. I hope someone can assist. The above script does not give me the same total as when added by calculator.

    I am creating a custom Attribute (extending System.Attribute). I know I can put it on another class easily enough by doing the following. [MattsAttribute] public class SomeClassWhichIsACodeBehind { However, I need to be able to test this attribute easily, and putting it in the code-behind would cause a lot of extra effort to get it deployed to an environment which would respond to the behavior of attribute. What I would like to do: declaratively apply this attribute to the .aspx page itself (which is really just another class that inherits from the code-behind). Is this possible? If so, what is the proper syntax for doing this?

" is displayed "? ? ? ? ?". some individuals have made Arabic support on CyanogenMod ROM's for some HTC phones, but they would not tell how they made it. I'v got the android source code, i want to know where to start, where to make changes , what is the library that handle fonts , shaping engine etc .. ps : android.com and other android related google groups are blocked in my country.

    Hello, I'd like to create WCF operation contract which consumes a string, produces a public webpage and then returns the address of this new page. This does not create a file in the web root, it creates it in the directory where the webdav server is running. How can I get a handle to the webroot programmatically so that i can place the resultant file there and then return the public URL? I can tack on the domain name after the fact without issue so if it only returns the relative path to the file that's fine. Thanks, brian

    I have a piece of cdosys code which runs correctly and generates e-mail with my SQL Server 2008 server talking to a MS Exchange 2003 Server.     I'm looking to convert single digit numbers to two-digit numbers like so: 9 ==> 09 5 ==> 05 12 == 12 4 ==> 04 I figure I could put a bunch of if-else statements (if number is under 10, then do a gsub) but figure that's horrible coding. I know Rails has number_with_precision but I see that it only applies to decimal numbers. Any ideas on how to convert single-digits to two-digits?
