  • NSFetchedResultsController titleForHeaderInSection with formatted NSDate

    In my Core Data app I am using a FetchedResultsController. Usually to set titles for headers in a UITableView you would implement the following method like so: - (NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section { id <NSFetchedResultsSectionInfo> sectionInfo = [[<#Fetched results controller#> sections] objectAtIndex:section]; return [sectionInfo name]; } where [sectionInfo name] returns a NSString. my sectionKeyPath is based on an NSDate and this all works fine apart from the section headers it gives me are the raw date description strings (e.g. 12/12/2009 12:32:32 +0100) which look a bit of a mess in a header! So I want to use a date formatter on this to make a nice header like "Apr 17 2010" but I can't do that with the [sectionInfo name] as this is NSString! Any Ideas? Many Thanks

    I am teaching myself Objective-C utilizing a number of resources, one of which is the Stanford iPhone Dev class available via iTunes U (past 2010 class). One of the home work assignments asked that I populate a mutable dictionary with a predefined list of keys and values (URLs). I was able to put the code together, but as I look at it, I keep thinking there is probably a much better way for me to approach what I'm trying to do: Populate a NSMutableDictionary with the predefined keys and values Enumerate through the keys of the dictionary and check each key to see if it starts with "Stanford" If it meets the criteria, log both the key and the value I would really appreciate any feedback on how I might improve on what I've put together.     It feels dirty. But maybe it isn't... is it ok to use a StringBuilder for writing XML? My gut instinct says "although this feels wrong, it's probably pretty darn performant because it's not loading extra libraries and overhead." Here's what it looks like.     i am trying to set up policy routing on my home server. My network looks like this: Host routed VPN gateway Internet link through VPN 192.168.0.35/24 ---> 192.168.0.5/24 ---> 192.168.0.1 DSL router 10.200.2.235/22 .... .... 10.200.0.1 VPN server The traffic from 192.168.0.32/27 should be and is routed through VPN. I wanted to define some routing policies to route some traffic from 192.168.0.5 through VPN as well - for start - from user with uid 2000. Policy routing is done using iptables mark target and ip rule fwmark. The problem: When connecting using user 2000 from 192.168.0.5 tcpdump shows outgoing packets, but nothing comes back. Traffic from 192.168.0.35 works fine (here I am not using fwmark but src policy).     Hello everyone! I am trying to integrate the Havok physics engine into my small game. It is a really nice SDK, but the header files are all over the place. Many headers are deeply nested in multiple directories. That gets confusing when you are trying to include headers for different important objects. I would like to know if there is a nice guide that will let you know where certian objects are and what headres they are in. I have already looked at Havok's documentation, and I also looked at the reference manual, but they don't give great detail as to where certain classes are located (header location). Also, is there any programs out there that can scan header files and create a list of where objects can be found? Thanks again

I want to redirect all subdomain traffic (the site is going away) to the primary domain.     Hey guys, My fist question here on Stackoverflow: What should I need to do so that the SSH SOCKS 5 Proxy (SSH2) will allow multiple connections? What I have noticed, is that when I load a page in Firefox (already configured to use the SOCKS 5 proxy), it loads everything one by one. It can be perceived by bare eyes, and I also confirm that through the use of Firebug's NET tab, which logs the connections that have been made. I have already configure some of the directives in the about:config page, like pipeline, persistent proxy connections, and a few other things. But I still get this kind of sequential load of resources, which is noticeably very slow. network.http.pipelining;true network.http.pipelining.maxrequests;8 network.http.pipelining.ssl;true network.http.proxy.pipelining;true network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy;100 network.proxy.socks_remote_dns;true My ISP sucks because during the day, it intentionally breaks connections on a random basis. And so, it is impossible to actually accomplish meaningful works without the need of a lot of browser refresh or hitting F5 key. So, that is why I started to find solutions to this. The SSH's dynamic port forwarding is the best solution I find to date, because it has some pretty good compression which saves a lot of useless traffic, and is also secure. The only thing remaining is to get it to have multiple connections running in it. Thanks for all the inputs.

    Hey guys, I need a little help.. iv'e been developing a Jqery plug-in to get the page ranks of urls on a website using XHR, The problem is when requesting the rank from google servers the page is returned no content, but if i use an inspector and get the url that was requests and go to it via my browser the pageranks are shown. so it must be something with headers but its just got me puzzled.     Hi guys, i've a Problem with MySQL C API and Mac OS X 10.6. When i want to compile a SQL Client Program, it aborts with this Error Message ld: library not found for -lmysqlclient collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I compile with this command: g++ -I /usr/local/mysql/include/ -L /usr/local/mysql/lib/ -lmysqlclient main.cpp I've tried the Headers and Librarys in different locations - no effect I've downloaded the headers and the Library from an other Destination - Same effect as before Any Ideas what i am doing wrong?   • Convert URLs into HTML links using sed?

    I'm wondering if it's possible (recommended might be the better word) to use sed to convert URLs into HTML hyperlinks in a document. Therefore, it would look for things like: http://something.com And replace them with <a href="http://something.com">http://something.com</a> Any thoughts? Could the same also be done for email addresses?

attempting to store an EntityManager object into an EntityManagerFactory field, but I don't understand how or why. My DAO classes accept both an EntityManager and EntityManagerFactory via the @PersistenceContext attribute, and they work find if I load them up and run them without the @ContextConfiguration attribute (i.e. if I just use the XmlApplcationContext to load the DAO and the EntityManagerFactory directly in setUp ()).
