    I have developed a simple HTML5 webpage that uses a javascript file. This is a fun learning page so I wanted to know as to how will they show up on mobile devices like iPhone and Android smartphones. The pages are hosted on a server and i have tested the thing on my desktop. But, how can i test the same for these mobile devices. i.e. how the page will look on mobile and stuff. I don't have an iPhone or Android. There is no serious development going in here so i was thinking if there is some free website or tool that acts as a iPhone or android browser. The main aim is just to see how the webpage will show up on an android phone.

Notepad.exe is the lightweight Windows editor by Microsoft. Notepad++ is an Open Source programmer's text editor for Windows based on SciTE. It has syntax highlighting, code collapsing, language recognition, macro recording, regular expression search and replace across line breaks and in files on disk, copy filenames and paths to clipboard, and many other advance text editing tools.   • What changes does McAfee make to the registry?

    I'm wondering if anyone knows exactly what McAfee does to the registry. I've got a computer on which JavaScript no longer works. I read online that McAfee replaces the script interpreter dll path in the registry to point to its own dll, which filters, and in turn calls the official "jscript.dll". I found multiples of these in the registry, and corrected them, but it still hasn't fixed the problem - JavaScript still does not work. I'm considering just reinstalling, and then re-uninstalling McAfee to fix it. However, for the record, I still want to know if anyone has, or can provide an online list of all the changes McAfee makes to the registry.     I am moving a clients classic asp webapp to a new IIS7 based server. The site contains some .js files which have javascript but also classic asp in <% % tags which contains a bunch of conditional statements designed to spit out pieces of javascript based on session state variables. Under MIME Types .js is defined as application/x-javascript None of these work. If I simply rename the file to have .asp extension then things work, however this app is poorly coded and has literally 100's of files with the .js files included in them under various names and locations, so rename, search and replace is the last option I have.

    I'm sick of the inconsistent behavior of clicking on links in Firefox. I want control of where they open up. If I'm done with a page and want to replace it with the link I am clicking, I left-click. If there are things I want to look at in the future, but I'm not done with this page yet, I'll middle-click. This normally works, but there are exceptions. If the website designer uses target="_blank", my left-click is overridden and the link opens in a new tab/window. If the links are javascript, a middle-click rarely works. I get an (Untitled) tab with some javascript as the URL. etc. How do I fix these things and get consistent clicking on links?

They give you javascript code that you embed in your pages (whichever event you wish to track) and voila..you're done. I have written a native application for Android phones, which is actually an adaptation of the actual web site. Now, I am required to setup Analytics and tracking for this native application. Question: How to do this on Mobile phones from within a native application? We have Java Script code that works for the original web site. Is there a way to incorporate that in the native application? I know Android supports Java Script via WebViews(Webkit);my application does not have webviews and it is native.   • Facebook Connect login button not rendering

    I'm trying to implement a Facebook Connect Single Sign-on site. I originally just had a Connect button (<fb:login-button>), which the user had to click every time they wanted to sign in. I now have the auto login and logout features working. That is, my site will detect a logged-in Facebook account and automatically authenticate them if it can find a match to one of my site's user accounts, and automatically deauthenticate if the Facebook session is lost. I also have a manual logout button that will log the user out of both my site and Facebook. All of those are working correctly, but now my original Connect button is intermittently not being rendered correctly. It just shows up as the plain XHTML (ie., it looks like plain text--not a button--and is unclickable), and no XFBML is applied. I can log in and out of Facebook on another tab and my site will notice the session changes and update accordingly. The logout seems to be working fine: when clicked, it deauthenticates the user and logs them out of Facebook, as intended. The issue seems to usually happen after a Facebook user is logged out, but it happens somewhat intermittently; it might happen before they ever login, and it goes away after a few minutes/refreshes. Some cookies are left over after the login/logout process, but deleting them does not fix the issue. Restarting the browser does not fix the issue. The user is definitely logged out of Facebook and my site when the problem occurs. I've checked for Facebook sessions and site authentication. All external script calls are being served up correctly. I have a suspicion that there's something else I need to be doing upon logout (like clearing session or cookies), but according to everything I've read about Facebook Connect, all I need to do is call the logout function (and deauthenticate on my server-side). I'm really at a loss; does anybody have any ideas what could be wrong?

  • Creating a drop-down row in displaytag

    I am currently using displaytag for tabular data, but would like to create a "kayak.com-like" interface where when a user clicks a row, the user is shown more details about the particular row without a page refresh. I tried using a decorator to return javascript that would do this. The javascript is executed, but it is only reflected in the column where it was rendered. I am looking to create a new row with the data. e.g.: public class CustomDecorator extends TableDecorator { public String getDetailsRow() { MyObject object = (MyObject)this.getCurrentRowObject(); return "<a onClick=\"myjsfunction(object.getId()); return true\">Details</a>"; } } ...and in the JSP I would have a detailsRow property nested between the display:table tags: <display:column property="detailsRow" sortable="false" /> Any tips on how to create a new row? The solution may be in the way that the javascript is written - I'm not an expert with Javascript, so any tips would be appreciated. Is there a better way to do this with displaytag? I don't know of any explicit integration that displaytag has with javascript (like an "onclick" parameter) either. This is my first question on stackoverflow, btw - so please let me know whether you need more detail.

But I noticed that menubar that i was using stopped working, it was supposed to drop horizontaly but it is not being displayed now. I have used jquery for it. Please see the source of the web page.   • dojo.require() prevents Firefox from rendering the page

    Im experiencing strange behavior with Firefox and Dojo. I have a html page with these lines in the <head> section: ... <script type="text/javascript" src="dojo.js" djconfig="parseOnLoad: true, locale: 'de'"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> dojo.require("dojo.number"); </script> ... Sometimes the page loads normally. But sometimes it won't. Firefox will fetch the whole html page but not render it. I see only a gray window. After some experiments I figured out that the rendering problem has something to do with the load time of the html. Firefox starts evaluating the html page while loading it. If the page takes too long to load the above javascript will be executed BEFORE the html finishes loading. If this happens I'll get the gray window. Advising Firefox to show me the source code of the page will display the correct complete html code. BUT: if I save the page to disk (File-Save Page As...) the html code will be truncated and the above part will look like this: ... <script type="text/javascript" src="dojo.js" djconfig="parseOnLoad: true, locale: 'de'"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> dojo.require("dojo.number"); </script></head><body></body></html> This explains why I get to see a gray area. But why does this code appear there? I assume the require() method of Dojo does something "evil". But I can't figure out what. There is no write.document("</head><body></body></html>"); in the Dojo code. I checked for it. The problem would be fixed, if I'd place the dojo.require("dojo.number"); statement in the window.load event: <script type="text/javascript"> window.load=function() { dojo.require("dojo.number"); } </script> But I'm curious why this happens. Is there a Javasctript function which forces Firefox to stop evaluating the page? Does Dojo do somethig "bad"? Can anyone explain this behavior to me? EDIT: Dojo 1.3.1, no JS errors or warnings.
