  • Google Chrome Application Mode: Possible to isolate multiple instances?

    I want to run multiple Google Chrome application windows logged into the same web site (Twitter.com, say), each with different credentials. Is this possible? If so, how? My initial testing shows that multiple Chrome app windows are not sufficiently isolated to do this. Logging into the second account logs me into the second account in both windows, suggesting that they are sharing information just as two Chrome tabs might.

  • How do I configure networking on CentOS 6 running on hyper-v?

    I'm not using legacy adapters, and i've installed Linux Integration Components 3.2. THe problem i'm facing is that the command 'setup' or 'system-config-network' doesn't list any network interfaces. If i run ifconfig -a i can see both the network cards i've attached. By setting a ip using ifconfig i can get network connectivity. The problem is that it's not persistent after a reboot. I'm a 100% centos newbie, but I figure it has something to do with that the centos installer couldn't see the NICs on install. How can I fix this?

And I do not understand this message that comes up because I can't start VM at this point at all. It says "If setup does not run automatically, open the CD-rom drive inside the virtual machine and run setup" So what does the mean when i cant run the VM?? Malcolm

    Hi guys I was testing an application called iTrash during which it seems like i have deleted the "Contextual Menu Items " folder as its no longer present and i can no longer right-click anywhere on my Snow Leopard. I don't have any backups. Can someone tell me how i can recover that folder or if i can download the files needed to have in that folder (just the original ones) to regain the Right-click again?

    I regularly write and update technical documentation which will be used to set up a new virtual machine, or to have a lookup for system dependencies in networks with around 20-50 (server-side) computers. At the moment I use OpenOffice Writer with text tables, and create one document per intranet domain. To improve this documentation, I would like to collect some examples to identify areas where my documents can be improved, regarding general structure and content, to make it easy to read and use not only for me but also for technical staff, helpdesk etc. Are there simple text templates (for example for OpenOffice Writer) or tools (maybe database-driven) for structured documentation of a computer configuration? Such a template / tool should provide required and optional configuration sections, like 'operating system', 'installed services', 'mapped network drives', 'scheduled tasks', 'remote servers', 'logon user account', 'firewall settings', 'hard disk size' ... It is not so much low-level hardware docs but more infrastructure / integration information in these documents (no BIOS settings, MAC addresses).

    M2Crypto.X509.X509 objects have a verify(pkey) method, which provide a means of testing that a given certificate does in fact sign a specified key. This is a good and useful thing -- except that sometimes the certificate I want to verify in this way is invalid without the use of an intermediate certificate, which this API does not appear to allow a way to specify. Is there an alternate means of validating a certificate / private key pair which will work even when the certificate is unable to stand alone?

    I am a programmer using Linux as my main OS, however sometimes I need to use windows (ie, office, ea). I'm running qemu with kvm to access the windows "machine". I would like to achieve something that is described here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SeamlessVirtualization (It means I would be able to run chosen applications on Windows and then display them locally on Linux as separate windows achieving good desktop integration). However seamless rdp is buggy and doesn't work on my machine (probably because I'm using a tiling window manager and a 64bit system). Are you aware of any other solution then rdp seamless mode? I would prefer to still use quemu because it uses cpu hardware virtualization, so different protocol/client combination would be preferable.

    Hi, I've been using CCNet for some time now but just upgraded to .net 4. I've installed the new framework on my dev box along with vs2010 and on my CC.net server as well. I've just installed CruiseControl.net version 1.5.6804.1, and changed my MSBuild tasks to point to the new v4.0.30319 framework directory. I've got two projects on .net 4 now that just don't build. They build perfectly well in VS and run well on both Cassini and IIS.     This seems like a fairly simple question, and I'm surprised not to have required it before. What is the most efficient way of testing a string input is a numeric (or conversely Not A Number). I guess I can do a Double.Parse or a regex (see below) public static bool IsNumeric(this string value) { return Regex.IsMatch(value, "^\\d+$"); } but I was wondering if there was a implemented way to do it, such as javascript's NaN() or IsNumeric() (was that VB, I can't remember).

  • Python module being reloaded for each request with django and mod_wsgi

    I have a variable in init of a module which get loaded from the database and takes about 15 seconds. For django development server everything is working fine but looks like with apache2 and mod_wsgi the module is loaded with every request (taking 15 seconds). Any idea about this behavior? Update: I have enabled daemon mode in mod wsgi, looks like its not reloading the modules now! needs more testing and I will update.

    We want to set up a FTP Daemon on our Ubuntu 10.04 server that can use a simple (probably custom) built web interface for a FTP server using MySQL for authentication. It'll be public facing but only intended for use by a few customers or clients. I know vsftpd, ProFTPd, and Pure-FTPd but I'm not sure which is best for this application.     I am using spring mvc in which i convert the arraylist into json string. I have one object 1) results. My output from spring looks like this: { "data":"[{\"userName\":\"test1\",\"firstName\":\"test\",\"lastName\":\"user\"}, {\"userName\":\"test2\",\"firstName\":\"test1\",\"lastName\":\"user1\"}]", } I get output as null when i do '$.parseJSON' with this output. When i tried testing only with data object it works fine Any help would be great.
