  • Put a java socket-like program in a cloud service

    I developed a server side java program, basically is a relay server so I can easily pass NATs and firewalls. The program works, but now I need a cloud service to host it. Do you know where/how I can put a java socket-like program in the cloud? Obviously, I prefer a free service or at least a free service while I'm testing. Thank you!

Example: var myJSON = { "foo" : "bar", "bar" : "foo" }; var keyToLookFor = "foo"; var found = myJSON[keyToLookFor]; if (found) { // I know I can test if the string exists in the if } // but is there a way I could just return something like: return found; // instead of testing found in the if statement and then returning true?

    Should multiple developers work within the same branch, and update - modify - commit ? Or should each developer have his/her own each branch exclusively? And how would sharing branches impact an environment where you are doing routine maintenance as opposed to unmaintained code streams? Also, how would this work if you deploy each developers work as soon as it is done and passes testing (rapidly, as opposed to putting all of their work into a single release).

    Hi all, I have an method in the tableview controller class. It consists few of the UIColor and UIFont class names. I am unit testing that metohd. But when i build that test target i am getting this error: "/Developer/Tools/RunPlatformUnitTests.include:451:0 Test rig '/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator3.0.sdk/Developer/usr/bin/otest' exited abnormally with code 133 (it may have crashed)." Their location is obtained by this function: NSString *pathInDocumentDirectory(NSString *fileName) { NSArray *documentDirectories = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentDirectory = [documentDirectories objectAtIndex: 0]; return [documentDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent: fileName]; } The files are now required on the device as testing of the app is moving from the simulator to actual devices. How do I transfer the data files from my current working environment to the devices?

  • More than one XP Mode virtual machines okay under Win 7?

    I really like the Windows XP Mode virtual machine that comes with Windows 7 (once you download the integration components). I teach technical training classes, and having a machine configured for the classroom is very helpful. My question is, can I configure more than one? The documentation suggests you can make multiple virtual machines, but I can't tell if I can have multiple "Windows XP Mode" VMs. It can't be as simple as configuring one, then just making a copy of the primary disk file, could it? I only plan to run one at a time, but I'd like to configure multiple different VMs for different classes, all running XP if possible. Thanks for any help!

Something that will allow me to enter a request (URL, headers, body, etc.), and view the response, preferably in different formats (hex, text, etc.).   • Passing a hostname of over 255 characters to getaddrinfo causes a getaddrinfo failed: memory allocat

    I am currently upgrading our software to support ipv6 and in the meantime I'm expanding hostname/ip fields to the max hostname size. In sun documentation it seems like this can be up to 1025 (netdb.h:#define NI_MAXHOST 1025 - this is the recommended hostname allocation define), but when I pass a hostname of over 255 to getaddrinfo I get "getaddrinfo failed: memory allocation failure". I am testing on a Sol10 box. Ideas?

    I'm pushing a scene to the game I'm working on, after pressing a button in the main menu. This scene is a gameplayScene which should have two layers ad childs: boardLayer and hudLayer. for now I'm testing with the boardLayer, I'm using block to call the gameplayScene to close both itself and the boardLayer, but by the time I get there the retain count of both layer is 3 (seems to be increasing after setting the block to 2, and I'm not sure when it is going up to 3) What cause this, and how should it be handled?

    I'm in dire need of a reference/citation manager in Ubuntu. The features I need the most are: 1) Metadata extraction/editing of pdf 2) Fetch metadata from online databases such as Google Scholar 3) Attach pdf or other file to reference 4) Tag references and recall those with a given tag or set of tags 5) Provide APA style citation for references (in integration with OOffice and/or Latex) Optional: Would be great if it can annotate/highlight pdfs. Mendeley probably does all of these, but it's behavior has driven me insane, especially when the number of references it's trying to handle is large. It constantly tries to sync with the web and creates duplicate references. I've tried JabRef, and while it looks like a decent piece of freeware, it doesn't do some of the above. I found others like Bibus, Referencer, etc. to be lacking or buggy or inactive development. Is there another option, or should I give up the search.

    I'm about to throw in the towel on this one. Running SQL Server 2008 enterprise on Windows 7 x64. Can't get past this issue. When I try to Import / Export Data from databases through SQL Server Management Studio I get the following Error. Error: TITLE: SQL Server Import and Export Wizard ------------------------------ The SSIS Data Flow Task could not be created. Verify that DTSPipeline.dll is available and registered. The wizard cannot continue and it will terminate. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Cannot create a task with the name "STOCK:PipelineTask". Verify that the name is correct. ({0194F10C-9860-4A4F-AF8B-DE7EFD89859F}) I have tried many solutions found via Google, but none of them have worked. A side issue that may be related is when I try to create an Integration Services Project in Business Intelligence Studio I get a 'project creation failed' error.
