    I am getting an error of an array out of bounce error when i am using my custom array adapter. I am wondering if there are any coding errors I have overlooked.   • 500 internal server error on certain page after a few hours

    I am getting a 500 Internal Server Error on a certain page of my site after a few hours of being up. I restart uWSGI instance with uwsgi --ini /home/metheuser/webapps/ers_portal/ers_portal_uwsgi.ini and it works again for a few hours. The rest of the site seems to be working. When I navigate to my_table, I am directed to the login page. But, I get the 500 error on my table page on login. I followed the instructions here to set up my nginx and uwsgi configs. That is, I have ers_portal_nginx.conf located i my app folder that is symlinked to /etc/nginx/conf.d/.   • So i ran sudo apt-get install kubuntu-full on my Ubuntu... and saw all the apps...now I want it off...help?

    I'm running 12.04 - I installed kubuntu to try it out and realized that with all the bloatware applications that I didn't want it anymore - I was able to uninstall the kubuntu-desktop but there are still packages left over... How can I make sure I get rid of EVERYTHING Kubuntu installed - even the kde leftovers? My observation is that Alex, Steve, Matt and I seem to have essentially the same answer in different words.   • Why did numbered list stop working after I hit Enter?

    I have a numbered list like: 1.0 Excel 2010 1.1 Introduction to Excel 2010 1.1.A. A general overview of Excel 2010, geared towards beginners 1.1.B. There are 3 videos in this series I put the cursor at the end of the last line on 1.1.B and hit Enter. The next line should begin with 1.1.C but nothing appears when the cursor returns to the next line. Another example, if I put the cursor at the end of 1.1.A and hit enter, I should get a new 1.1.B and the original 1.1.B should be renamed to 1.1.C. After hitting enter, a new 1.1.B doesn't appear and the previous 1.1.B drops all the way to the next page. So the next bullet number that should come up doesn't come up. I tried Microsoft Fix It to reset the Registry and that didn't work either. This is very frustrating. Does anybody know how to fix this?

  • Kerberos & localhost

    I've got a Kerberos v5 server set up on a Linux machine, and it's working very well when connecting to other hosts (using samba, ldap or ssh), for which there are principals in my kerberos database. Can I use kerberos to authenticate against localhost though? And if I can, are there reasons why I shouldn't? I haven't made a kerberos principal for localhost. I don't think I should; instead I think the principal should resolve to the machine's full hostname. Is that possible? I'd ideally like a way to configure this on just one server (whether kerberos, DNS, or ssh), but if each machine needs some custom configuration, that'd work too. e.g $ ssh -v localhost ... debug1: Unspecified GSS failure. Minor code may provide more information Server host/[email protected] not found in Kerberos database ... EDIT: So I had a bad /etc/hosts file. If I remember correctly, the original version I got with Ubuntu had two 127.0. IP addresses, something like:- 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.*1*.1 hostname For no good reason, I'd changed mine a long time ago to: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.*0*.1 hostname.example.com hostname This seemed to work fine with everything until I tried out ssh with kerberos (a recent endeavour). Somehow this configuration led to sshd resolving the machine's kerberos principal to "host/localhost@\n", which I suppose makes sense if it uses /etc/hosts for forward and reverse dns lookups in preference to external dns. So I commented out the latter line, and sshd magically started authenticating with gssapi-with-mic. Awesome. (Then I investigated localhost and asked the question)

Is there a directive or condition one can test for whether a user is (not) authenticated? If a user is already authorised to view a folder, then I don't want the RewriteRule to be triggered. Is this possible? EDIT: I am not using any front-end HTML here. This is only using Apache's built-in directory browsing interface and its in-built authentication mechanisms.   • Web Development Environment: How to distribute edited hosts files over bunch of mac machines?

    I am doing some research to prepare some web development environment for our small(10ppl and growing) new office. User Case: For each new web project usually we create new alias on an Apache server someproject.companywebsite From my understanding in order to see this website locally for all the rest of our team(including mangers and directors) they will need to edit hosts file (e.g. "192.168.1.10 someproject.companywebsite"), and like that each time for a new project(can be 2-5 each week) Solution: And I looking for a solution how to edit this hosts file only once and distribute it over all mac machines in our network at once or much more flawlessly than poking around with each machine every time over and over again. Is that possible? Or that a very wrong way of doing that? Perhaps we better set up own local dns server and point to it our router? Though own dns server a bit concerns me because of might be some network interruption and others lags, if you know what I mean. Or perhaps there are another workflows for that? What's the best way for such things? So I'll be so grateful to hear some advices from experienced admins. I couldn't find that info on internet, so if you know where to read about it, point me in a right direction. Thank you in advance Alex

Top 5,000 Top 10,000 Top 50,000 Top 100,000 Top 500,000 Top 1,000,000 I know this is incredibly subjective and thus the broad brush strokes with the number ranges... BUT I've got a site currently ranked just over 1.2M worldwide and over 500k in the USA (http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/fstr.net) Pretty cool for something hand-built on weekends (pat self on back) I was applying to an ad-platform and was told that their program doesn't accept webmasters who have an Alexa rank of greater than 100,000. (Time to take back that pat on the back I guess). I know that my hits in the last 30 days are somewhere on the order of 15,000 uniques and 20,000 pageviews. So I'm wondering how much harder do I have to work to achieve my next "goals"? I'd like to break into the top million, then re-evaluate from there. It'd be nice to know what those targets translate into (very roughly of course). I imagine that alexa ranks and tiers become very much exponential as you move up the ranks, but even hearing annecdotal evidence from other webmasters would be really useful to me. (ie: I have a site that is ranked X and it got Y hits in the last 30 days) Thanks :) - Alex

  • How do I reattach to Ubuntu Server's 'do-release-upgrade' process?

    I accidentally pressed Ctrl+C during Ubuntu Server's do-release-upgrade process. I'd dropped to a shell to compare a .conf file in /etc/. When I pressed Ctrl-C, it asked whether I wanted to try to reattach to the upgrade process, but it failed to do so. So I quit, and now there's a hanging dpkg process which is holding onto the apt lock. This is a virtualised server with no GUI frontend... Is it possible to recover the upgrade process, or do I have to kill the dpkg process and start again? UPDATE:- AFAICT, there was no way to reattach to the upgrade process. However, it wasn't a disaster at all. I killed the hanging dpkg process, and then ran dpkg --configure -a. This walks you through reconfiguring all packages already installed on the system, tidying up any problems whilst it does so. After that, I used aptitude to upgrade the remaining packages, which had already been downloaded, but hadn't been installed or configured.

  • Windows 7 - Hiding the Taskbar Label for Specific Applications

    I run my taskbar buttons with the setting "Combine when taskbar is full". Is there any way to force some of your pinned taskbar applications to only use the "icon" rather than the icon + label? I am aware of the trick to force the size of the taskbar icons for all applications (detailed here and here), but there are some applications that I would like to only have the icon, and others where it is important to show icon + label.

    In Linux I can well to add alias to bashrc and it will become a permanent alias. In Mac OS I tried to do the same thing: vim ~/.bashrc export PATH="$PATH:$HOME/.rvm/bin" # Add RVM to PATH f or scripting alias prj="cd ~/Documents/projects" ### Added by the Heroku Toolbelt export PATH="/usr/local/heroku/bin:$PATH" That being said, I got this: $ alias alias rvm-restart='rvm_reload_flag=1 source '\''/Users/alex/.rvm/scripts/rvm'\''' So where is my prj alias? I rebooted the laptop but nothing has changed.

  • Hyper-V/Ubuntu server 12.04 - VM does not stop

    i just installed a ubuntu 12.04 server on a 2008 R2 Hyper-V server and all is fine (networking/storage ...). There is just one thing, when i halt my linux (using "sudo halt"), i can see on the console that the system is halted but the vm status on hyper-v is still "started". Then i need to stop it on the hyper-v management tool. Anybody has an idea on how to properly stop this VM on hyper-V automatically ? Thanks, Alex
