    Last night my postfix mail server(Debian Squeeze with dovecot, roundcube, opendkim and spamassassin enabled) started sending out spam from a single domain of mine like these: $cat mail.log|grep D6930B76EA9 Jul 31 23:50:09 myserver postfix/pickup[28675]: D6930B76EA9: uid=65534 from=<[email protected]> Jul 31 23:50:09 myserver postfix/cleanup[27889]: D6930B76EA9: message-id=<[email protected]> Jul 31 23:50:09 myserver postfix/qmgr[7018]: D6930B76EA9: from=<[email protected]>, size=957, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Jul 31 23:50:09 myserver postfix/error[7819]: D6930B76EA9: to=<[email protected]>, relay=none, delay=0.03, delays=0.02/0/0/0, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (delivery temporarily suspended: lost connection with mta5.am0.yahoodns.net[66.196.118.33] while sending RCPT TO) The domain in question did not have any accounts enabled but only a catchall alias set through postfixadmin - most emails were send from a specific address I use frequently but some were also sent from bogus addresses. None of the other virtual domains handled by postfix were affected. How can I find out what process was feeding postfix/sendmail or more info on where they originated? As far as I can tell php mail() wasn't used and I've run several open relay tests. I did a little tinkering(removed winbind from the server and ipv6 addresses from main.cf) after the attack and it seems to have subsided but I still have no idea how my server was suddenly sending out spam. Maybe I fixed it - maybe I didn't. Can anyone help figuring out how I was compromised? Anywhere else I should look? I've run Linux Malware Detect on recently changed files but nothing found.

  • HTC Diamond Touch sync problem

    I have a HTC Diamond Touch with all my contacts etc. on it. Did however not use it for 6mo while being abroad. When I start the phone now I realize that the touch screen has stopped working. I have tried restarting, soft resetting, shutting it off etc but the touch just wont follow commands. However, I can manage the phone by buttons so it's not frozen. Hence I can get into the phone and watch contacts but not use it to call etc. The problem is, how do I get my 300 contacts out of the thing!? When I'm plugging in the phone, it lets me choose between "Sync with Outlook" and "Use as storage device". It automatically selects "Use as storage device". Now, I cannot choose to sync it with the buttons. I can not change this option afterwards either. In short, I have a phone with all of my contact data and am completely unable to get that out of it. Any tips/help/suggestions? If possible, preferably one that does not including sending the phone to a hardware workshop for three weeks in order to get it fixed:)

  • Syncing Google Desktop Scratch Pad

    I'm a long time user of Google Desktop Scratch Pad and I would like to be able to put the note in the cloud and make it accessible from all my electronic units. I'm working towards changing the filepath Scratch Pad uses to retrieve the .txt to lead to a DropBox folder. As the Desktop Scratch Pad is discontinued I've had no luck in retrieving the API, but what I've got so far is this: The scratch pad data is located at: C:\Users[user]\AppData\Local\Google\Google Desktop\a3d83d5fa2e9\scratchpad.txt The registry keys related to Google Desktop is located at: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Desktop I'm guessing the Scratch Pad app itself is located at: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Desktop\Components I have limited experience with the registry, so I'm not able to translate the binary and hexadecimals, but I'm hoping that the path location is in there somewhere. I've tried using a bunch of other noteapps (including the 'new' scratch pad in chrome) but haven't been able to find one that suits my needs as Desktop Scratch Pad. Hence the effort in this matter. I may be way off and I'm not sure if this is possible to do, but I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  • Ubuntu12.04 - launched applications, not staying in same desktop

    My question is why a launched application, if it has loading time like netbeans, eclipse jdeveloper etc. If i go to desktop3 and launch an application and then go to desktop 2 while I wait, then when it has loaded the application will launch in desktop2. Is there anyway to change this? I find it highly annoying since i on startup would like to launch 3-4 big applications, leave my computer while loadingf, and then return. But i cant leave since i have to launch them sequential instead of simultaneous... Help please :-)

  • How does Ubuntu keep track of the "System restart required" flag in motd?

    I have a few Ubuntu servers (8.10, 9.10) that is set to automatically install security updates. Some times these updates requires a restart of the system, and this string is shown in motd: *** System restart required *** To get a notice about these, I plan to write a Nagios test to monitor if the server is in need of a reboot. So, my question: Is there a better way than parsing /etc/motd to find out if a reboot is needed?

  • My Network adapter "D-Link DWA-547" is causing windows 7 to freeze up.

    Any audio playing, and sometimes the program i am using is constantly stuttering and freezing up. I have narrowed the offending hardware down to my: D-Link DWA-547 RangeBooster N650 Desktop Adapter If i disable it in the device manager everything runs fine and smooth. The card works, and gives me super fast internet. But the rest of the system hangs. I have tried installing the card with the drivers from the cd that came with it, i also tried the lates beta drivers from the d-link webpage, but the problem persists. What do i do? I am running windows 7 x64 on a asus p5b motherboard with 2 intel processors.

  • .htaccess not working

    I am trying to get .htaccess to work under Apache, but the server doesn't seem to honor it. In httpd.conf I have: AllowOverride All I have restarted the server with 'service httpd restart'. I have also done a 'service httpd reload'. The docs suggest testing the configuration with a garbage .htaccess file. If the server succesfully reads the garbage .htaccess file, this should result in an error when retrieving a page from the directory. But I get no error, suggesting that the server is not parsing the file. What might be wrong? Thanks.

  • TrueCrypt System Favorite Volume doesn't mount automatically on boot

    I've encrypted my system partition using TrueCrypt and I've read that I can mount my encrypted data partition (TrueCrypt volume) on boot by making it a "System Favorite" and giving it the same password as the system partition. However it doesn't work and I have to mount it manually every time. See this example. I've tried enabling "Cache pre-boot authentication password in driver memory (for mounting of non-system volumes)" in System - Settings, but that didn't change anything either. Any ideas?

I'm trying to simply block the URIs: /_mydir/* = / (redirect) But, I want to rewrite: /ex/(.*)$ = /_mydir/$1 I have tried: location /ex/ { rewrite ^/ex/(.*)$ /_mydir/$1 last; } location /_mydir { rewrite ^/_mydir/(.*)$ http://$http_host/ redirect; } But what always happens is once I block the '/_mydir' directory the rewrite is also blocked. I have also tried: location /_mydir/ { internal; } This also ends up blocking the rewrite. All help is greatly appreciated, thanks. UPDATE: I fixed this problem using: rewrite ^/ex/(.*)$ /_mydir/$1 break;

  • Jabber client for windows 7

    I am looking for a jabber client with some specific functions. I have spent 1½ day looking for one and it is getting tiresome. Clients that I have been using, that have what I need, but I am not interesting for a reason in are: Pidgin, does not show complete messages in their popups. Miranda IM, I have a constant disconnect issue that does not seem to be resolved in my case. What I need are: Popups A popup that shows broadcasts to users. A popup that show when my username is typed in a conference chat. I need to be able to view the full message in the popup. No configuration of a theme to make this enabled, or if there is a working theme for it already. Preferable placement is on the top right of the screen. Able to 'popup' when running full screen applications, much like games. Conferences Easy access to bookmarked conferences. I do not want to go through submenus to rejoin a disconnected or closed conference. If I close the conference window I want to be connected to the conference until I exit the client. Tabbed interface. Configuration Sober configurations, options are great but there is a limit and the above needs to be availble in the options in a understandable manner. What I wish for: MSN Not needed! If it is avaible then it is a big plus. Facebook Not needed! If it is avaible then it is a big plus. Conferences/chats Not needed! Eyecandy is always nice.

  • WPF vs. WinForms - a Delphi programmer's perspective?

    I have read most of the major threads on WPF vs. WinForms and I find myself stuck in the unfortunate ambivalence you can fall into when deciding between the tried and true previous tech (Winforms), and it's successor (WPF). I am a veteran Delphi programmer of many years that is finally making the jump to C#. My fellow Delphi programmers out there will understand that I am excited to know that Anders Hejlsberg, of Delphi fame, was the architect behind C#. I have a strong addiction to Delphi's VCL custom components, especially those involved in making multi-step Wizards and components that act as a container for child components. With that background, I am hoping that those of you that switched from Delphi to C# can help me with my WinForms vs. WPF decision for writing my initial applications. Note, I am very impatient when coding and things like full fledged auto-complete and proper debugger support can make or break a project for me, including being able to find readily available information on API features and calls and even more so, workarounds for bugs. The SO threads and comments in the early 2009 date range give me great concern over WPF when it comes to potential frustrations that could mar my C# UI development coding. On the other hand, spending an inordinate amount of time learning an API tech that is, even if it is not abandoned, soon to be replaced (WinForms), is equally troubling and I do find the GPU support in WPF tantalizing. Hence my ambivalence. Since I haven't learned either tech yet I have a rare opportunity to get a fresh start and not have to face the big "unlearning" curve I've seen people mention in various threads when a WinForms programmer makes the move to WPF. On the other hand, if using WPF will just be too frustrating or have other major negative consequences for an impatient RAD developer like myself, then I'll just stick with WinForms until WPF reaches the same level of support and ease of use. To give you a concrete example into my psychology as a programmer, I used VB and subsequently Delphi to completely avoid altogether the very real pain of coding with MFC, a Windows UI library that many developers suffered through while developing early Windows apps. I have never regretted my luck in avoiding MFC. It would also be comforting to know if Anders Hejlsberg had a hand in the architecture of WPF and/or WinForms, and if there are any disparities in the creative vision and ease of use embodied in either code base. Finally, for the Delphi programmers again, let me know how much "IDE schock" I'm in for when using WPF as opposed to WinForms, especially when it comes to debugger support.   • How do I generate C# code from WADL files?

    I am looking for a code generator than can generate C# code to access RESTful web services described by WADL files in a way similar to how wadl2java works. Doing som searching I came across the rest-api-code-gen project on Google Code, but although the latest source does in fact support C#, the REST Describe & Compile demo site does not. (The C# button is there, but it's disabled.) I realize I could download the source and set up my own server with the latest version, but I would prefer not to, as what I need is a command line tool and not a web application with dependencies to Google Web Toolkit. I guess I could write my own a command line tool based on the same source code, but if it has already been done, or other tools can do the job, I'd rather avoid it. So, I'm wondering, are there any tools like that out there?

  • How can a multi-select-list be edited using asp.net mvc?

    I'd like to edit an object like the one below. I'd like the UsersSelectedList populated with one or more Users from the UsersGrossList. Using the standard edit-views in mvc, I get only strings and booleans (not shown below) mapped. Many of the examples I find on google utilizes early releases of the mvc framework whereas I use the official 1.0 release.
