  • Authenticating wcf service

    hi , i want to implement a web service which is both in java and .net.but i will first create a wcf service and later convert the code to java . for securing the webservice , i have this in my mind. i shall be implementing asp.net form authentication type of stuff . i intent to sent a token to the client on providing valid userID and password to the login method. in return i would send a token. on all other service operations i shall check the token . Now i have a wcf client and a wcf service . what should be the shortest way forward ?should i use soap auth header to send the user ID and password and how should the token be transported ( in which field ? http or soap's ?) . P.S: of course i shall enable ssl later.

  • Get ExternalInterface definitions in Javascript

    Is there a way to get a list of the exposed functions from a Flash object? For example, you could get a list of all methods in an object by executing: for (var i in object) { if (typeof object[i] == "function") { console.log(i); } } The only issue is that this won't expose any methods registered through the ExternalInterfaces API. I can try and see if the function exists (object['method']) and it tells me it is a function, but I would have to guess every existing method in this manner. NOTE: Obviously, I don't have access to the actionscript.

  • Auto-generated values for columns in database

    Is it a good practice to initialize columns that we can know their values in database, for example identity columns of type unique identifier can have a default value (NEWID()), or columns that shows the record create date can have a default value (GETDATE()). Should I go through all my tables and do this whereever I am sure that I won't need to assign the value manually and the Auto-generated value is correct. I am also thinking about using linq-to-sql classes and setting the "Auto Generated Value" property of these columns to true. Maybe this is what everybody already knows or maybe I am asking a question about a fundamental issue, if so please tell me.

My site has a Table Tags (contain key word,id) and also 4 types of data related to this tags table like(articles,resources,jobs,...). The big question is:- for the relation with tags what best solution for optimazaion & query speed? make a table for each relation like: table articlesToTags(ArticleID,TagID) table jobsToTags(jobid,tagid) etc. or put it all in one table like table tagsrelation(tagid,itemid,itemtype) I need your help. Please provide me with articles to help me in this design consider that in future the site can conation new section relate to tag Thanks

    Is there any way I can save all the things that is happening on my Windows 7 Command Prompt in a file. So that I can see what are the things that got printed on the console. I am running a multithreaded Java Program from the command prompt as- java -server -Xms512m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=512m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -Duser.timezone=GMT-7 –jar BatchMain.jar -taskId V3-PERSONALIZATIONGEO-SAMPLE-TASK -noofthreads 1 -timeout 5 -numberOfIP 1000 -privateIPAddress false And it prints lot of things on to the command prompt, And I want to store all these things that are getting printed on the console into a file.

  • Is extending a singleton class wrong?

    I am creating a logger for an application. I am using a third party logger library. In which logger is implemented as singleton. I extended that logger class because I want to add some more static functions. In these static functions I internally use the instance (which is single) of Logger(which i inherited). I neither creates instance of MyLogger nor re-implemented the getInstance() method of super class. But I am still getting warnings like destructor of MyLogger can not be created as parent class (Loggger) destructor is not accessible. I want to know, I am I doing something wrong? Inheriting the singleton is wrong or should be avoided??

  • Timeout Exceptions

    This is my below code, I am confuse why this thing is happening. In this code getLocationByIpTimeout is a method in which I am passing two things- one is the ip address and second is the timeout. So I will get the timeout exception if the response is not getting back in under 5 ms. So when I ran this below code, I am getting few timeout exceptions but the most important thing that I am confuse is if I am getting timeout exceptions (time taken to get the response is greater than 5 ms) then why the program is entering in that if loop in which I am having difference 5. What can be the possible reason for this? It is because of catch block??     I want to know how many elements of a certain class appear in the DOM before an element that let's say has been clicked on. <html> <div class="a"> </div> <div class="b"> <div class="a"> </div> </div> <button>CLick me!</button> <div class="a"> </div> </html> So in the previous DOM tree if the element to be clicked is the button, and Im looking for divs with class "a" it should return 2, even though in the whole tree there are 3, but "before" the button there are only 2.     I recently registered a domain and got hosting from Dreamhost. But when even after three days, the website was not accessible, I contacted support about it. This is the response the support person gave me: "My apologies! The DNS had gotten stuck, so I went ahead and pushed that through for you. Please allow 2-3 hours for the DNS to propagate." Now I have to say that my knowledge regarding these things is virtually zero, and I couldn't understand what the support person meant, so I ran a search and it seemed that Mr. Google knew just as much as I did regarding this. Can someone tell me what "dns getting stuck" means?

  • Having trouble Getting "RTSP over HTTP"

    There is an axis camera that is connected to our site (camba.tv) through axis one click connection component (which acts as proxy). We can communicate with this camera only through http by setting the proxy to our OCCC server's address. If we want to get RTSP streams (h.264) we are only left with "RTSP over HTTP" option. For this I have followed axis VAPIX 3 documentation section 3.3. I issue requests through fiddler but don't get any response. But when i put the URL (axrtsphttp://1.00408CBEA38B/axis-media/media.amp) in windows media player (with proxy set to OCCC server 212.78.237.156:3128) the player is able to get RTSP stream over HTTP after logging in. How can I write request sequences to get stream in fiddler? If it is needed, I can upload the wireshark request dump somewhere.

    I have a domain controller running on Windows 2008 Server R2 and users login to application servers on which Windows 2003 Server SP2 is installed. I have applied a Group Policy to clean temporary internet files on exit i.e to delete all temporary internet files when users close the browser. But the group policy doesn't seem to work as user profile size keeps on increasing and the major space is occupied by temporary internet files therefore increasing the disk usage. How can i enforce automatic deletion of temporary internet files?

  • Migrating data from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005

    I have to migrate existing data which is in SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005. The schema of two databases is different. For Example Locations table in SS2000 is split into two tables and has different columns. This is one time activity. After successful migration I don't need old db anymore. What is the best way to transfer data from one SQL Server to another having different schemas? I can write stored procedures to fetch data from SQL Server 2000 and insert/update tables in SQL Server 2005. What about SSIS? I don't have any experience with this and is this better to create package of SSIS because I don't need this again and need to learn it first. Thanks.

  • Config file (App.config) does not update on new installation

    I am creating setup of my project using Visula Studio 2008. I am facing problem in setup installation. If I uninstall old setup (application) and install the new one then config file (App.config) updates the attributes (surely it is new file) of config file but if I install new setup without uninstalling the old one then config file does not update. from config file I mean MyProject.exe.config Why is this behavior of config file. Should it not be updated on installation of the new setup Is this possible to delete and copy the config file of new setup? Is there a way to update only config file forcefully during installation. Thanks for your help!
