  • How to filter the jqGrid data NOT using the built in search/filter box

    I want users to be able to filter grid data without using the intrinsic search box. I have created two input fields for date (from and to) and now need to tell the grid to adopt this as its filter and then to request new data. Forging a server request for grid data (bypassing the grid) and setting the grid's data to be the response data wont work - because as soon as the user tries to re-order the results or change the page etc. the grid will request new data from the server using a blank filter. I cant seem to find grid API to achieve this - does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

  • jqGrid Coloring an entire line in Grid based upon a cells value

    Hi all, i know it's been asked before but i cant get it to run and i'm out of things to try. So i want to colorize a row in a Grid if its value is not 1 - i use a custom formatter for this. The formatter itself works, thats not the problem. I've tried multple ways I've found so far on the web - adding a class, directly adding css code, using setRowData, using setCell....     Hi, Ive made a query in PHP, and i'm trying to send the results back into Flash via AS3, but its throwing up this error Error: Error #2101: The String passed to URLVariables.decode() must be a URL-encoded query string containing name/value pairs. at Error$/throwError() at flash.net::URLVariables/decode() at flash.net::URLVariables() at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete() Here is the relevant part of the PHP and AS3 code, including the query.   • Sphinx PHP search

    I'm doing a Sphinx search but turning up some really weird results. Any help is appreciated. So for example if I type "50", I get: 50 Cent 50 Lions 50 Foot Wave, etc. This is great, but when I search "50 Ce", I get: Ryczace Dwudziestki Spisek Bernhard Gal Cowabunga Go-Go And other crazy results. Also when I search for "50 Cent", the correct result is at the top, but then random results below. Any ideas why?     So far the only 2 good things that I've seen about using gettext instead of arrays is that I don't have to create the "greeting" "sub-array" (or whatever its called). And I don't have to create a folder for the "default language". Are there other pros and cos of using gettext and php arrays for multilingual websites?     Hello, how to get a value of a (hidden) column, from the selected row. that is, the cell value needs to be from the cell identied by colName, and the selected row (not using multi select). From the API i see the method getGridParam("selrow") for reading the row, may be able to combine with other methods.. but, any convenient method available? a code snippet would save lot of time... \ thanks.

  • 500 Internal Server Error with PHP application

    I have written a PHP application using Windows and XAMPP. I've been trying to run it on Ubuntu 10.10 with Lighttpd 1.4.26. Parts of the application work fine, but whenever I try to log in, I get a 500 - Internal Server Error page.     hello, i asked this in the mongodb user-group, but was not satisfied with the answer, so -- maybe someone at stackoverflow can enlighten me: the question was: $b = array('x' => 1); $ref = &$b; $collection->insert($ref); var_dump($ref); $ref does not contain '_id', because it's a reference to $b, the handbook states. (the code snippet is taken from the php mongo documentation) i should add, that: $b = array('x' => 1); $ref = $b; $collection->insert($ref); var_dump($ref); in this case $ref contains the _id -- for those, who do not know, what the insert method of mongodb-php-driver does -- because $ref is passed by reference (note the $b with and without referencing '&'). on the other hand ... function test(&$data) { $data['_id'] = time(); } $b = array('x' => 1); $ref =& $b; test($ref); var_dump($ref); $ref contains _id, when i call a userland function. my question is: how does the references in these cases differ? my question is probably not mongodb specific -- i thought i would know how references in php work, but apparently i do not: the answer in the mongodb user-group was, that this was the way, how references in php work. so ... how do they work -- explained with these two code-snippets? thanks in advance!!!

  • jqGrid - how to change title based on colModel sortable property

    When the mouse hovers over each column I'd like the tooltip to indicate whether that column is sortable. I am able to change the title attribute with something like this: $("#List .ui-th-column").each(function(i) { var isSortable = i % 2; $(this).attr('title', isSortable ? "Not Sortable" : "Click header to sort."); }); I'd like to replace the demo expression 'i % 2' with a check of the colMode's sortable property, but I can't figure out how to get the value of the colModel's sortable property. colModel: [ { name: 'Name', index: 'Name', width: 100, sortable: true }, { name: 'Note', index: 'Note', width: 200, sortable: false } ] I've tried .getGridParam and .getColProp but I don't think the syntax I'm using is correct.

    Hi, I have the following models class Employee(Person): job = model.Charfield(max_length=200) class Address(models.Model): street = models.CharField(max_length=200) city = models.CharField(max_length=200) class EmpAddress(Address): date_occupied = models.DateField() date_vacated = models.DateField() employee = models.ForeignKey() When I build a json data structure for an EmpAddress object using the django serialzer it does not include the inherited fields only the EmpAddress fields. I know the fields are available in the object in my view as I can print them but they are not built into the json structure. Does anyone know how to overcome this? Thanks Andrew

    I've been trying to get transparency to work with my application (which dynamically resizes images before storing them) and I think I've finally narrowed down the problem after much misdirection about imagealphablending and imagesavealpha. The source image is never loaded with proper transparency! // With this line, the output image has no transparency (where it should be // transparent, colors bleed out randomly or it's completely black, depending // on the image) $img = imagecreatefromstring($fileData); // With this line, it works as expected. $img = imagecreatefrompng($fileName); // Blah blah blah, lots of image resize code into $img2 goes here; I finally // tried just outputting $img instead. header('Content-Type: image/png'); imagealphablending($img, FALSE); imagesavealpha($img, TRUE); imagepng($img); imagedestroy($img); It would be some serious architectural difficulty to load the image from a file; this code is being used with a JSON API that gets queried from an iPhone app, and it's easier in this case (and more consistent) to upload images as base64-encoded strings in the POST data. Do I absolutely need to somehow store the image as a file (just so that PHP can load it into memory again)? Is there maybe a way to create a Stream from $fileData that can be passed to imagecreatefrompng?

    My problem is that I am unable to update the values entered in the form. I have attached all the files. I'm using MYSQL database to fetch data. What happens is that I'm able to add and delete records from form using jQuery and PHP scripts to MYSQL database, but I am not able to update data which was retrieved from the database. The file structure is as follows: index.php is a file with jQuery functions where it displays form for adding new data to MYSQL using save.php file and list of all records are view without refreshing page (calling load-list.php to view all records from index.php works fine, and save.php to save data from form) - Delete is an function called from index.php to delete record from MySQL database (function calling delete.php works fine) - Update is an function called from index.php to update data using update-form.php by retriving specific record from MySQL table, (works fine) Problem lies in updating data from update-form.php to update.php (in which update query is written for MySQL) I have tried in many ways - at last I had figured out that data is not being transferred from update-form.php to update.php; there is a small problem in jQuery AJAX function where it is not transferring data to update.php page. Something is missing in calling update.php page it is not entering into that page. I am new bee in programming. I had collected this script from many forums and made this one. So I was limited in solving this problem. I came to know that this is good platform for me and many where we get a help to create new things.     Hello, How to set the values for filter is explained here link text. I have two requirements. 1. the default value needs to be empty. I expect, if defaultValue is not set, the filter is empty, but that is not happening in my case. The first value is 2. How to escape ':' in my value. The character ':' and ';' are used to seperate the index and values. But, in my value string it contains a ':' (eg: searchoptions:{value:"1:'Level: 1'"} , where Level: 1 is my first value). How to escape : in the value part. I tried \ , / etc. thanks.

Consequently, the answers to this question need to be restricted to functionlity available within the jqGrid space. It pains me to pose this question and I know you will tempted to go down a million other paths - most that we have already traveled before. :( Question: Can jqGrid populate a column as a result of performing math on two other columns. The source of those two columns is in our control so we can "guarantee" that numeric data will be returned. Also, the result is something that we simplay want to display on demand but not store yet.   • PHP script stops running arbitrarily with no errors.

    I was working on a fairly long script that seemed to stop running after about 20 minutes. After days of trying to figure out why, I decided to make a very simple script to see how long it would run without any complex code to confuse me. I found that the same thing was happening with this simple infinite loop. At some point between 15 and 25 minutes of running, it simply stopped. There is no error output at all. The bottom of the browser simply says "Done" and nothing else is processed. I've been over every single possible thing I could think of... set_time_limit, session.gc_maxlifetime in the php.ini as well as memory_limit and max_execution_time. The point that the script is stopped is never consistent. Sometimes it will stop at 15 minutes, sometimes 22 minutes, sometimes 17... But it's always long enough to be a PITA to test. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. It is hosted on a 1and1 server. I contacted them and they couldn't help me... but I have a feeling they just didn't know enough.

  • in jqgrid, how can i have the editform disappear after submit

    right now, when i click submit it sends a message to the server and updates the databased and refreshes the screen but it keeps the edit form popup on the screen.   • How do you modify the data returned from an AJAX call before it is rendered in the jqGrid?

    I'm trying to modify the data returned from an AJAX call before jqGrid 3.7.2 renders it. I've tried hooking into the loadComplete event but when I modify the data it appears to be after it has already rendered. I've also tried hooking into the success event on the ajaxGridOptions field of options but that seems to totally override the event and jqGrid doesn't render the data. How can I modify the data returned from a web service call before jqGrid renders it?

In this case, however, remains always visible the message "Loading ..." and no other action is permitted.
