  • Viewing the NetBeans Central Registry (Part 2)

    - by Geertjan
    Jens Hofschröer, who has one of the very best NetBeans Platform blogs (if you more or less understand German), and who wrote, sometime ago, the initial version of the Import Statement Organizer, as well as being the main developer of a great gear design & manufacturing tool on the NetBeans Platform in Aachen, commented on my recent blog entry "Viewing the NetBeans Central Registry", where the root Node of the Central Registry is shown in a BeanTreeView, with the words: "I wrapped that Node in a FilterNode to provide the 'position' attribute and the 'file extension'. All Children are wrapped too. Then I used an OutlineView to show these two properties. Great tool to find wrong layer entries." I asked him for the code he describes above and he sent it to me. He discussed it here in his blog, while all the code involved can be read below. The result is as follows, where you can see that the OutlineView shows information that my simple implementation (via a BeanTreeView) kept hidden: And so here is the definition of the Node. class LayerPropertiesNode extends FilterNode { public LayerPropertiesNode(Node node) { super(node, isFolder(node) ? Children.create(new LayerPropertiesFactory(node), true) : Children.LEAF); } private static boolean isFolder(Node node) { return null != node.getLookup().lookup(DataFolder.class); } @Override public String getDisplayName() { return getLookup().lookup(FileObject.class).getName(); } @Override public Image getIcon(int type) { FileObject fo = getLookup().lookup(FileObject.class); try { DataObject data = DataObject.find(fo); return data.getNodeDelegate().getIcon(type); } catch (DataObjectNotFoundException ex) { Exceptions.printStackTrace(ex); } return super.getIcon(type); } @Override public Image getOpenedIcon(int type) { return getIcon(type); } @Override public PropertySet[] getPropertySets() { Set set = Sheet.createPropertiesSet(); set.put(new PropertySupport.ReadOnly<Integer>( "position", Integer.class, "Position", null) { @Override public Integer getValue() throws IllegalAccessException, InvocationTargetException { FileObject fileEntry = getLookup().lookup(FileObject.class); Integer posValue = (Integer) fileEntry.getAttribute("position"); return posValue != null ? posValue : Integer.valueOf(0); } }); set.put(new PropertySupport.ReadOnly<String>( "ext", String.class, "Extension", null) { @Override public String getValue() throws IllegalAccessException, InvocationTargetException { FileObject fileEntry = getLookup().lookup(FileObject.class); return fileEntry.getExt(); } }); PropertySet[] original = super.getPropertySets(); PropertySet[] withLayer = new PropertySet[original.length + 1]; System.arraycopy(original, 0, withLayer, 0, original.length); withLayer[withLayer.length - 1] = set; return withLayer; } private static class LayerPropertiesFactory extends ChildFactory<FileObject> { private final Node context; public LayerPropertiesFactory(Node context) { this.context = context; } @Override protected boolean createKeys(List<FileObject> list) { FileObject folder = context.getLookup().lookup(FileObject.class); FileObject[] children = folder.getChildren(); List<FileObject> ordered = FileUtil.getOrder(Arrays.asList(children), false); list.addAll(ordered); return true; } @Override protected Node createNodeForKey(FileObject key) { AbstractNode node = new AbstractNode(org.openide.nodes.Children.LEAF, key.isFolder() ? Lookups.fixed(key, DataFolder.findFolder(key)) : Lookups.singleton(key)); return new LayerPropertiesNode(node); } } } Then here is the definition of the Action, which pops up a JPanel, displaying an OutlineView: @ActionID(category = "Tools", id = "de.nigjo.nb.layerview.LayerViewAction") @ActionRegistration(displayName = "#CTL_LayerViewAction") @ActionReferences({ @ActionReference(path = "Menu/Tools", position = 1450, separatorBefore = 1425) }) @Messages("CTL_LayerViewAction=Display XML Layer") public final class LayerViewAction implements ActionListener { @Override public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { try { Node node = DataObject.find(FileUtil.getConfigRoot()).getNodeDelegate(); node = new LayerPropertiesNode(node); node = new FilterNode(node) { @Override public Component getCustomizer() { LayerView view = new LayerView(); view.getExplorerManager().setRootContext(this); return view; } @Override public boolean hasCustomizer() { return true; } }; NodeOperation.getDefault().customize(node); } catch (DataObjectNotFoundException ex) { Exceptions.printStackTrace(ex); } } private static class LayerView extends JPanel implements ExplorerManager.Provider { private final ExplorerManager em; public LayerView() { super(new BorderLayout()); em = new ExplorerManager(); OutlineView view = new OutlineView("entry"); view.addPropertyColumn("position", "Position"); view.addPropertyColumn("ext", "Extension"); add(view); } @Override public ExplorerManager getExplorerManager() { return em; } } }

  • Ubuntu 12.04 on MBPro, Early 2011, options

    - by sthysel
    I have a 2.2 GHz i7, 4GB MacBook Pro 8.3, AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB, Early 2011. As far as I see I have two options, running Ubuntu on this hardware: VMWare/Virtualbox and Ubuntu in a VM, I already ordered a 16G RAM upgrade for this. Wipe OSX and go Ubuntu native, with 16G RAM, yay ! I'm kinda leaning towards option 2 as I tend to spend 90% of my time in dev VM's at work anyway. All my other machines at home, and most at work are Ubuntu/Linux as well. I have a Mac mini on standby for the odd Itunes backup/sync. If I don't have to keep OSX around, I would like to get rid of it altogether. Ubuntu support on Mac hardware seems to be a hit and miss affair as far as I can tell. Does anyone have good success running a recent version of Ubuntu on this hardware ? Thanks

  • Convert Microsoft Word documents (.doc/x) into HTML files

    - by danie7L T
    Does anybody knows of a good application to get it done quickly and efficiently ? I bought Word Cleaner but the results are merely sufficient and I need go over all the generated html files to clean tons of useless injected tags like <strongH</strong<strongell</strong<strongo </strong<emWor</em<emld</em Most of the articles displayed on a website I manage are based on documents written on MS Word by people how has little idea of what are margins for or ordered/unordered lists, foot/end notes etc and I cannot make them use something else. Does anyone has a tip to help me handle those pages more efficiently than going over them to correct and apply my CSS style ? NB: Just for the record, using "Save as HTML DOC" in Word is faaar worst than Word cleaner

  • How do I get a Realtek Wireless USB Airlink101 AWLL5088 working?

    - by Tobias_Mann
    I am running Ubuntu 11.10, 32bit. I ordered them a Realtek Airlink101 AWLL5088 based upon the relative ease for linux installation. I am having trouble installing the drivers. I copied the drivers to /usr/src/ and ran sudo ./install.sh from that director listed above. I have tried ndiswrapper, and allowing the default drivers, but with no luck. It seems to continue to try and use the default free drivers, even though I have blacklisted them using the guide described here. There was no error, I was asked which card I was using. I looked at the packaging and at the support page, and guessed number 2, allowed to finish, and rebooted. It continued detect the wireless network after the reboot, but would never complete the connection. I would appreciate any feedback. I am kind of stuck trying to figure this out.

  • The Advancement of Technology That Lead to Websites Being One of the Most Important Business Assets

    Twenty years ago the world was a very different place. Most companies were still using paper based filing systems and people saw computers as being complicated and expensive. Businesses had storage rooms and large filing cabinets full of alphabetically and chronologically ordered documents and letters. Due to the efforts of large corporations, technology has advanced in a way that most people would have never imagined. What would have taken up a full warehouse worth of space can now be stored digitally in a device that is smaller than a book and it can be searched through in a matter of seconds.

  • How can I change the percent of screen brightness that changes every time I press the shortcut?

    - by Chriskin
    When I press Fn+F6 the change in brightness is too big. How can I make it move less than it does now? (Let's say, half that, for example.) (11.04/Gnome. I'm on proprietary nvidia drivers.) EDIT: I haven't tried what Rinzwind has written below because , after throwing a cup of coffee on my laptop, my keyboard was destroyed (so i no longer have the FN button that is needed - i'm currently writing from an external one). I have already ordered a new one and i will collect it from the service center tomorrow at noon

  • sort django queryset by latest instance of a subset of related model

    - by rsp
    I have an Order model and order_event model. Each order_event has a foreignkey to order. so from an order instance i can get: myorder.order_event_set. I want to get a list of all orders but i want them to be sorted by the date of the last event. A statement like this works to sort by the latest event date: queryset = Order.objects.all().annotate(latest_event_date=Max('order_event__event_datetime')).order_by('latest_event_date') However, what I really need is a list of all orders sorted by latest date of A SUBSET OF EVENTS. For example my events are categorized into "scheduling", "processing", etc. So I should be able to get a list of all orders sorted by the latest scheduling event. This django doc (https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/db/aggregation/#filter-and-exclude) shows how I can get the latest schedule event using a filter but this excludes orders without a scheduling event. I thought I could combine the filtered queryset with a queryset that includes back those orders that are missing a scheduling event...but I'm not quite sure how to do this. I saw answers related to using python list but it would be much more useful to have a proper django queryset (ie for a view with pagination, etc.)

  • Unrecognized Token : "#" C# to SQLITE

    - by user2788405
    Background + Problem: ( Begginer here ) I want to populate sqlite db with values from a list I have in my c# code. Here's the sqlite code taken from finisarsqlite website: I modified it a bit by creating my own column names like "seq#" etc. But I'm getting the following error : "unrecognized token #" Maybe my syntax is off? Code: // [snip] - As C# is purely object-oriented the following lines must be put into a class: // We use these three SQLite objects: SQLiteConnection sqlite_conn; SQLiteCommand sqlite_cmd; SQLiteDataReader sqlite_datareader; // create a new database connection: sqlite_conn = new SQLiteConnection("Data Source=database.db;Version=3;New=True;Compress=True;"); // open the connection: sqlite_conn.Open(); // create a new SQL command: sqlite_cmd = sqlite_conn.CreateCommand(); // Let the SQLiteCommand object know our SQL-Query: sqlite_cmd.CommandText = "CREATE TABLE table1 (Seq# integer primary key, Field integer primary key, Description integer primary key);"; // Now lets execute the SQL ;D sqlite_cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); <<< ---- This is where Error Occurs ! // Lets insert something into our new table: sqlite_cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO table1 (Seq#, Field, Description) VALUES (list[0], list[1], list[2]);"; // And execute this again ;D sqlite_cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); // We are ready, now lets cleanup and close our connection: sqlite_conn.Close(); }

  • Problem with jqGrid in Internet Explorer 8

    - by Dave Swersky
    I have developed an ASP.NET MVC (version 2 RC) application with a ton of jqGrids. It's working like a champ in Firefox, but I've discovered a problem in IE8. The "Main View" grids can be filtered by a search box or one of a few dropdowns above the grid. I use some javascript to reset the url for the grid, then trigger a reload, thusly: function filterByName(filter) { if (filter == 'All') { $('#list').setGridParam({ url: 'Application/GetApplications' }); $('#list').trigger("reloadGrid"); } else { $('#list').setGridParam({ url: 'Application/GetAppByName/' + filter + '/' }); $('#list').trigger("reloadGrid"); } } This works like magic in Firefox, but I'm getting an HTTP 400 Bad Request when I do this in IE8. The IE8 client-side debugger is like flint and tinder compared to Firebug's flamethrower, so I'm not having much luck figuring out why it breaks in IE8. Has anyone seen this? Also, the jqGrid "trigger" method here is swallowing the AJAX exception. Is there a way to get it to bubble up so I can get to the exception details? UPDATE: The problem was with the syntax in my "onchange" event for the dropdowns. I was using: onchange="filterByMnemonic($('#drpMnemonic')[0].value); Which Firefox apparently doesn't mind but IE sees that as nuthin'. This, however, works in both browsers: onchange = "filterByMnemonic($('#drpMnemonic > option:selected').attr('value'));"

  • Java: immutable Stack?

    - by HH
    I chose to use Stacks and Tables before knowing Collections has immutable empty things only for Set, Map and List. Because the size of table does not change after its init: Integer[] table = new Intger[0] I can use the zero-witdh table as an empty table. But I cannot use final or empty Stack to get immutable Stack: No immutability to Stack with Final import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class TestStack{ public static void main(String[] args) { final Stack<Integer> test = new Stack<Integer>(); Stack<Integer> test2 = new Stack<Integer>(); test.push(37707); test2.push(80437707); //WHY is there not an error to remove an elment // from FINAL stack? System.out.println(test.pop()); System.out.println(test2.pop()); } } Java Api 5 for list interface shows that Stack is an implementing class for list and arraylist, here. The java.coccurrent pkg does not have any immutable Stack data structure. From Stack to some immutable data structure How to get immutable Stack data structure? Can I box it with list? Should I switch my current implementatios from stacks to Lists to get immutable? Which immutable data structure is Very fast with about similar exec time as Stack?

  • How to use custom IComparer for SortedDictionary?

    - by Magnus Johansson
    I am having difficulties to use my custom IComparer for my SortedDictionary<. The goal is to put email addresses in a specific format ([email protected]) as the key, and sort by last name. When I do something like this: public class Program { public static void Main(string[] args) { SortedDictionary<string, string> list = new SortedDictionary<string, string>(new SortEmailComparer()); list.Add("[email protected]", "value1"); list.Add("[email protected]", "value2"); foreach (KeyValuePair<string, string> kvp in list) { Console.WriteLine(kvp.Key); } Console.ReadLine(); } } public class SortEmailComparer : IComparer<string> { public int Compare(string x, string y) { Regex regex = new Regex("\\b\\w*@\\b", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase | RegexOptions.CultureInvariant | RegexOptions.IgnorePatternWhitespace | RegexOptions.Compiled ); string xLastname = regex.Match(x).ToString().Trim('@'); string yLastname = regex.Match(y).ToString().Trim('@'); return xLastname.CompareTo(yLastname); } } I get this ArgumentException: An entry with the same key already exists. when adding the second item. I haven't worked with a custom IComparer for a SortedDictionary before, and I fail to see my error , what am I doing wrong?

  • Putting WPF Controls into canvas with Visuals

    - by Mikhail
    I am writing a WPF chart and use Visuals for performance. The code looks like: public class DrawingCanvas2 : Canvas { private List<Visual> _visuals = new List<Visual>(); private List<Visual> _hits = new List<Visual>(); protected override Visual GetVisualChild( int index ) { return _visuals[index]; } protected override int VisualChildrenCount { get { return _visuals.Count; } } public void AddVisual( Visual visual ) { _visuals.Add( visual ); base.AddVisualChild( visual ); base.AddLogicalChild( visual ); } } Beside DrawingVisual elements (line, text) I need a ComboBox in the chart. So I tried this: public DrawingCanvas2() { ComboBox box = new ComboBox(); AddVisual( box ); box.Width = 100; box.Height = 30; Canvas.SetLeft( box, 10 ); Canvas.SetTop( box, 10 ); } but it does not work, there is no ComboBox displayed. What I am missing?

  • "The specified view is invalid" in call to LimitedWebPartManager.AddWebPart in SharePoint 2010

    - by Lee Richardson
    This code used to work in WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 in FeatureReceiver.FeatureActivated: using (SPLimitedWebPartManager limitedWebPartManager = Site.GetLimitedWebPartManager("default.aspx", PersonalizationScope.Shared)) { ListViewWebPart listViewWebPart = new ListViewWebPart { Title = title, ListName = list.ID.ToString("B").ToUpper(), ViewGuid = view.ID.ToString("B").ToUpper() }; limitedWebPartManager.AddWebPart(listViewWebPart, zone, position); } I'm trying to convert to SharePoint 2010 and it now fails with: System.ArgumentException: The specified view is invalid. at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPViewCollection.get_Item(Guid guid) at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.ListViewWebPart.EnsureListAndView(Boolean requireFullBlownViewSchema) at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.ListViewWebPart.get_AppropriateBaseViewId() at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.SPWebPartManager.AddWebPartInternal(SPSupersetWebPart superset, Boolean throwIfLocked) at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.SPLimitedWebPartManager.AddWebPartInternal(WebPart webPart, String zoneId, Int32 zoneIndex, Boolean throwIfLocked) at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.SPLimitedWebPartManager.AddWebPart(WebPart webPart, String zoneId, Int32 zoneIndex) Interestingly enough when I run it from a unit test it works, it only fails in FeatureActivated. When I debug with Reflector it is failing on this line: this.view = this.list.LightweightViews[new Guid(this.ViewGuid)]; list.LightweightViews only returns one view, the default view, even though list.Views returns all of them. I have no idea what LightweightViews is supposed to mean and I'm running out of ideas. Anyone else got any?

  • Model validation with enumerable properties in Asp.net MVC2 RTM

    - by Robert Koritnik
    I'm using DataAnnotations attributes to validate my model objects. My model class looks similar to this: public class MyModel { [Required] public string Title { get; set; } [Required] public List<User> Editors { get; set; } } public class User { public int Id { get; set; } [Required] public string FullName { get; set; } [Required] [DataType(DataType.Email)] public string Email { get; set; } } My controller action looks like: public ActionResult NewItem(MyModel data) { //... } User is presented with a view that has a form with: a text box with dummy name where users enter user's names. For each user they enter, there's a client script coupled with ajax that creates an <input type="hidden" name="data.Editors[0].Id" value="userId" /> for each user entered (enumeration index is therefore not always 0 as written here), so default model binder is able to consume and bind the form without any problems. a text box where users enter the title Since I'm using Asp.net MVC 2 RTM which does model validation instead of input validation I don't know how to avoid validation errors. The thing is I have to use BindAttribute on my controller action. I would have to either provide a white or a black list of properties. It's always a better practice to provide a white list. It's also more future proof. The problem My form works fine, but I get validation errors about user's FullName and Email properties since they are not provided. I also shouldn't feed them to the client (via ajax when user enters user data), because email is personal contact data and is not shared between users. If there was just a single user reference on MyModel I would write [Bind(Include = "Title, Editor.Id")] But I have an enumeration of them. How do I provide Bind white list to work with my model?

  • C# performance analysis- how to count CPU cycles?

    Is this a valid way to do performance analysis? I want to get nanosecond accuracy and determine the performance of typecasting: class PerformanceTest { static double last = 0.0; static List<object> numericGenericData = new List<object>(); static List<double> numericTypedData = new List<double>(); static void Main(string[] args) { double totalWithCasting = 0.0; double totalWithoutCasting = 0.0; for (double d = 0.0; d < 1000000.0; ++d) { numericGenericData.Add(d); numericTypedData.Add(d); } Stopwatch stopwatch = new Stopwatch(); for (int i = 0; i < 10; ++i) { stopwatch.Start(); testWithTypecasting(); stopwatch.Stop(); totalWithCasting += stopwatch.ElapsedTicks; stopwatch.Start(); testWithoutTypeCasting(); stopwatch.Stop(); totalWithoutCasting += stopwatch.ElapsedTicks; } Console.WriteLine("Avg with typecasting = {0}", (totalWithCasting/10)); Console.WriteLine("Avg without typecasting = {0}", (totalWithoutCasting/10)); Console.ReadKey(); } static void testWithTypecasting() { foreach (object o in numericGenericData) { last = ((double)o*(double)o)/200; } } static void testWithoutTypeCasting() { foreach (double d in numericTypedData) { last = (d * d)/200; } } } The output is: Avg with typecasting = 468872.3 Avg without typecasting = 501157.9 I'm a little suspicious... it looks like there is nearly no impact on the performance. Is casting really that cheap?

  • Hibernate criteria query to match against all child collection elements

    - by Andrew Harrison
    Hi, This question is very similar to link text but the responses were minimal to that question. I have a parent class with a Set of child entities. The child entities are just a wrapper for a string and live in a different table to the parent entity. I want to have a criteria query that returns the parent entities when all the members of the set of child entities return true to a condition. This condition is matching against one of a list of strings. Here's where I am: Criteria c = criteria(); Criteria ands = c.createCriteria("ands"); Disjunction dis = Restrictions.disjunction(); for (String value : values) { dis.add(Restrictions.like("value", "%" + value + "%")); } ands.add(dis); return list(c); "ands" is the set of entities with a "value" field that is a string. "criteria()" creates a criteria for the parent class. "list()" just calls criteria.list(); This is just matching against any of the elements, rather than all. Hope this makes sense. Any help much appreciated.

  • WPF ListView get GridViewColumn from control inside DataTemplate

    - by ragi
    Example: <ListView Name="lvAnyList" ItemsSource="{Binding}"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="xx" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding XX}" CellTemplate="{DynamicResource MyDataTemplate}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="yy"> <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding YY}" /> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> </GridViewColumn> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> If I access the TextBlock inside DataTemplate I will have access to information about the bound path. But I don't know how to find (starting from the TextBlock) its containing GridViewColumn (which is in the GridViewRowPresenter columns list) and compare it to the grid's GridViewColumn (from GridViewHeaderRowPresenter column list) to get the header's name. At the end I should have the pairs: xx-XX, yy-YY I can find a list of all TextBlocks inside ListView by using this: GridViewRowPresenter gvrp = ControlAux.GetVisualDescendants<GridViewRowPresenter>(element).FirstOrDefault(); IEnumerable<TextBlock> entb = GetVisualDescendants<TextBlock>(gvrp); I can find a list of all GridViewColumnHeaders: GridViewHeaderRowPresenter gvhrp = ControlAux.GetVisualDescendants<GridViewHeaderRowPresenter>(element).FirstOrDefault(); And I cannot find the connection between the TextBlocks and the GridViewColumns... I hope this is understandable.

  • SSRS 2008: is it possible to make a report parameter NOT query-based for some linked report?

    - by Stefan Mohr
    I suspect the answer is no, but here goes.. I'm using the WebForms Report Viewer on a public-facing website to allow users to report on themselves or their users (if the user is an admin user). A report has a parameter called Users where an admin can pick a user from the list and generate a report from it. Mundane users can also view this report, but I programmatically create a linked report for each user and set the UserID value to their ID so they can only view themselves. This works well except that the UserID parameter is query-based, and not every user is visible in the list using default settings (the user list is based off date range parameters can provide, and only users we consider 'active' during the date range are visible). This is blowing up for mundane users that are not active for the default date range (which is the previous month). I suspect the flow of execution is something like this: Report loads with default parameters The linked report rules are now applied and the value of the UserID is overridden with the ID in the linked report UserID field is now hidden to prevent the user from changing it SSRS can't find the UserID default value in the query results (that I didn't even want it to run) so it displays an error The 'UserID' parameter is missing a value Through some testing I've found a perfect correlation between users not inside the default date range and users who can't view the report. Can anyone suggest a way to make the report usable for those users that aren't in the default list? The reports are created programmatically so I do have a fair bit of control over the situation. I would love to simply be able to mark a parameter in a linked report as no longer being query-based, but those properties are all read-only. I really, really don't want to have to create duplicate reports to accommodate these users but I'm at a bit of a loss right now. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    I am trying to develop generic DAO in java.I have tried the following.Is this a good way to implement generic dao?I dont want to use hibernate.I am trying to make it as generic as possible so that i dont have to repeate the same code again and again. public abstract class AbstractDAO<T> { protected ResultSet findbyId(String tablename, Integer id){ ResultSet rs= null; try { // the following lins in not working; pStmt = cn.prepareStatement("SELECT * FROM "+ tablename+ "WHERE id = ?"); pStmt.setInt(1, id); rs = pStmt.executeQuery(); } catch (SQLException ex) { System.out.println("ERROR in findbyid " +ex.getMessage() +ex.getCause()); ex.printStackTrace(); }finally{ return rs; } } } Now i have public class UserDAO extends AbstractDAO<User>{ public List<User> findbyid(int id){ Resultset rs =findbyid("USERS",id) //USERS is tablename in db List<Users> users = convertToList(rs); return users; } private List<User> convertToList(ResultSet rs) { List<User> userList= new ArrayList(); User user= new User();; try { while (rs.next()) { user.setId(rs.getInt("id")); user.setUsername(rs.getString("username")); user.setFname(rs.getString("fname")); user.setLname(rs.getString("lname")); user.setUsertype(rs.getInt("usertype")); user.setPasswd(rs.getString("passwd")); userList.add(user); } } catch (SQLException ex) { Logger.getLogger(UserDAO.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } return userList; } }

  • jQuery UI Tabs customization for many tabs

    - by Tauren
    I'd like to implement a tab bar using jquery-ui-tabs that has been customised to work like it does on HootSuite. Try this on HootSuite to see what I mean: Log in to your hootsuite.com account Click the + symbol to the right of your tabs Add tabs named "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" until a "More..." tab appears You'll see this: HootSuite includes the following features, all of which I would like to do: Fit as many tabs as possible onto the screen. Users with larger screens would see more tabs. If they run out of space, a "More..." tab would appear with a drop-down list Clicking onto the More tab would drop down a list of additional tabs Tabs can be dragged and rearranged. Tabs in the More drop-down list can be dragged to the tab bar Delete tabs with a small X next to the tab name Add tabs with a + icon to the right of the last tab I already have a tab bar working that does 4 and 6. I found a Paging Tab Plugin which is pretty cool, but works differently. Does anyone know of plugins or techniques that would help me accomplish the above? My thought is to not really make the More tab a real tab, but just an object that looks like a tab. I'd add logic to the tabs.add method to calculate if another tab can fit. If it can't, then I would add the details of the tab to my separate "More" list. There'd be a fair amount of effort to get this all working, so if there are any plugins that would help, I'd love to hear about them.

  • Multiple Conditions in Lambda Expressions at runtime C#

    - by Ryan
    Hi, I would like to know how to be able to make an Expression tree by inputting more than one parameter Example: dataContext.Users.Where(u => u.username == "Username" && u.password == "Password") At the moment the code that I did was the following but would like to make more general in regards whether the condition is OR or AND public Func<TLinqEntity, bool> ANDOnlyParams(string[] paramNames, object[] values) { List<ParameterExpression> paramList = new List<ParameterExpression>(); foreach (string param in paramNames) { paramList.Add(Expression.Parameter(typeof(TLinqEntity), param)); } List<LambdaExpression> lexList = new List<LambdaExpression>(); for (int i = 0; i < paramNames.Length; i++) { if (i == 0) { Expression bodyInner = Expression.Equal( Expression.Property( paramList[i], paramNames[i]), Expression.Constant(values[i])); lexList.Add(Expression.Lambda(bodyInner, paramList[i])); } else { Expression bodyOuter = Expression.And( Expression.Equal( Expression.Property( paramList[i], paramNames[i]), Expression.Constant(values[i])), Expression.Invoke(lexList[i - 1], paramList[i])); lexList.Add(Expression.Lambda(bodyOuter, paramList[i])); } } return ((Expression<Func<TLinqEntity, bool>>)lexList[lexList.Count - 1]).Compile(); } Thanks

  • Understanding ItemsSource and DataContext in a DataGrid

    - by Ben McCormack
    I'm trying to understand how the ItemsSource and DataContext properties work in a Silverlight Toolkit DataGrid. I'm currently working with dummy data and trying to get the data in the DataGrid to update when the value of a combo box changes. My MainPage.xaml.vb file currently looks like this: Partial Public Class MainPage Inherits UserControl Private IssueSummaryList As List(Of IssueSummary) Public Sub New() GetDummyIssueSummary("Day") InitializeComponent() dgIssueSummary.ItemsSource = IssueSummaryList 'dgIssueSummary.DataContext = IssueSummaryList ' End Sub Private Sub GetDummyIssueSummary(ByVal timeInterval As String) Dim lst As New List(Of IssueSummary)() 'Generate dummy data for lst ' IssueSummaryList = lst End Sub Private Sub ComboBox_SelectionChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Controls.SelectionChangedEventArgs) Dim cboBox As ComboBox = CType(sender, ComboBox) Dim cboBoxItem As ComboBoxItem = CType(cboBox.SelectedValue, ComboBoxItem) GetDummyIssueSummary(cboBoxItem.Content.ToString()) End Sub End Class My XAML currently looks this for the DataGrid: <sdk:DataGrid x:Name="dgIssueSummary" AutoGenerateColumns="False" > <sdk:DataGrid.Columns> <sdk:DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding ProblemType}" Header="Problem Type"/> <sdk:DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding Count}" Header="Count"/> </sdk:DataGrid.Columns> </sdk:DataGrid> The problem is that if I set the value of the ItemsSource property of the data grid equal to IssueSummaryList, it will display the data when it loads, but it won't update when the underlying IssueSummaryList collection changes. If I set the DataContext of the grid to be IssueSummaryList, no data will be displayed when it renders. I must not understand how ItemsSource and DataContext are supposed to function, because I expect one of those properties to "just work" when I assign a List object to them. What do I need to understand and change in my code so that as data changes in the List, the data in the grid is updated?
